  • reason for his speed r his exits if corners, he dosent suffer with wheelspin

  • Adrian Newey is a genius: it's not the wing flexing. It wouldn't pass in the FIA tests. It's the whole nose cone.

  • UGH!!! Stop seriously just stop... It is a ridiculous argument to begin with, if any of you are the so called experts then go work for the FIA. However because you have the time to look up inane videos in YouTube to comment on I doubt you have the job. If the FIA didn't approve every aspect of the RBR Front Wing then what the hell is it doing on track? It is allowed and that is that so stop bitching about RBR and worry about why Jenson and Lewis seem to have a problem with each other?

  • VERY CLEVER, SEBS A CHEAT TECHNICALLY SINCE NO ONE ELSE HAS THAT! IT PRACTICALLY DRIVES THE CAR FOR HIM

  • @Aarontheshredder Stupid comment

  • @TJD24tamebandkk no. VERY NICE COMMENT ! IS TRUE! VETTEL = RB7 AUTOMATIC

  • That's a good view.

  • Yea that's some hardcore wing flexing. If their car is legal McLaren need to get on that.

  • OMG did you all see that? Red Bull are cheating they have movable front suspension aswell!

  • Not this again why can't anyone except that the red bull car is the best without calling them cheats for it.

  • @NjsRB7f1 i can im rbr renault 4 ever why do people have to make a fuss about something thats already been tested by fia . every team gets the same test if red bull find ways to get extra downforce then i guess they just are winners also thay have vettel what an advantage

  • it's funny when u find guys claiming things they don't know about and denying the fact that this Redbull goes under extreme scrutineering by the FIA during each and every race and since it's passed please stop waisting your time and our time by posting useless point of views that are irrelevant.

  • they have adrian newey after all

  • Conclusion: Red Bull is the smartest team in finding loopholes in the rulebook. That's why they are fast. You cannot deny that. They are the smartest team out there.

  • Much more rake than in any other car makes the wing sit lower as it is.

  • @choyothe Regardless of rake angle, there are regulations which restrict how low a wing can sit. The front wing on the Red Bull is no lower at rest than any of its opposition.

  • all wings flex? doil, its the design, mixed with wind (air speed) and G forces. fool, never seen slow motion replays of Mercedes or McLarens over chicanes - especially nurbergring and catalunya?

  • @jwilson2814 Good comment.

Unfortunately, it disregards the amount that this one flexes. Of course all wings flex. Almost everything does when a force is acted upon it. Red Bull's wing, however, flexes more than the regulations permit when not being affected by road surfaces.

  • I think as long as it passes the FIA tests...what's the problem? It's available to everyone else.

  • @FormulaVid not really, I'm currently researching this for an assignment at University, and it is within the permitted regulations, as the regulations are standard at a constant wind-speed, or none. The excess flex is outside the parameters and therefore passes.

  • Also if you watch from 48 secs to 52 secs, the wing movement is undeniable. I honestly believe the Red Bull front wing is the largest factor in their dominance over the last 2 years. Please don't read that as "the only factor." More front downforce with no drag penalty whatsoever.

  • idiots, the wing is not flexing, itz the suspension, which makes it look like the wing is flexible... omg buy some glasses...

  • @BirGurbetKusu Maybe the suspension is causing an illusion in some parts, but you can clearly see a ton of movement under braking at :26. You can clearly see the wing flex lower to the ground at higher speed and come back up under braking. And don't anyone say it's the nose diving causing the effect, because the camera will keep the same angle in relation to the nose at all times.

That being said, this is just something the other teams need to duplicate to catch up. FIA mades it's ruling.

  • where´s the sound of the car

  • ...erm... so what?

  • It's not illegal to have a flexible front wing. It's illegal to run a wing that can't pass the FIA flex tests. Period.

  • What's the physics behind these?

  • @nealogz When it flexes downwards it produces less drag because it gets flatter so to speak. On the straights they don't need to downforce so by making the front wing flex like that it gives them the downforce in the corners with less drag on the straights and more straight line speed.

  • @dude2106

No......Its the exact opposite. When the wing flexes downward the wing is close to the ground and that creates more downforce. The red cull does have more drag on the strights thats why its one of the slowest cars in a straightline. they dont have that problem anymore because DRS lets them have the best of both worlds in Qualifying.

  • @Blaze4091 Aaah yeah you are right! I think i mixed it up with the older flexible rear wings of the past, which were made to reduce drag at high speed.

  • That much air at those speeds would make any material flex, look at other cars and they will have about the same maybe just a little less.

  • @FlyingCC look yourself you dumb fuck, none of them flex anywhere near this much. Passionate RedBull hate FTW

  • @MrBenrulezz Doesn't matter anyway the FIA hasn't made any ruling based on your RB hate. Facts FTW!

  • @FlyingCC But the FIA hasn't made any load test that replicates the loads that the wing experiences at speed, so the test is inadequate to enforce the rule. The FIA regulations state that any specific part of the car influencing its aerodynamic performance "must remain immobile in relation to the sprung part of the car". The RB front wing does not do this therefore it is breaking the rules. If they increased the load test from 100kg to 500kg and it still passed, then it would be legal.

  • @seismica OMG Seriously if the wing had given them that much of an advantage (WHICH IT DIDN'T, considering the mid-season change) don't you think that maybe... Oh I don't know... Um Mercedes or Ferrari would have complained. They didn't and trust me they looked. So hang it up RBR haters the simple fact is the cars are just engineered better and the drivers are just better.

  • @FlyingCC You don't understand, a front wing creates 30% of the downforce on the car, and influences every other aerodynamic part of the car. Running it lower than allowed will a) make it more efficient b) create more net downforce by changing the characteristics of the airflow behind the front wing allowing more air underneath the car therefore feeding the diffuser and lowering the COP. It's a great solution that other teams are struggling to copy, but it's still against the rules.

  • @FlyingCC Mclaren also came up with a solution that flexed the front wing this year but that was banned on the spot even though it passed the load tests. They were 100% right to ban it, but I call that double standards. Once the FIA find out exactly how they are doing it they will ban it on the spot because it is by nature a moving aerodynamic device.

  • Well after examining this and other videos I can say without a doubt that the front wing does flex and in some instances quite a lot. After doing some math and a few aerodynamics calculations you could say they do give an advantage but not sure it is as big as some people say, I estimate maybe, 200 of a second tops!!!!

  • @funacde it does give a big advantage. The front wing is probably the most important part of all aerodynamic parts because it's the first part that hits the air. That's why the front wings are so complicated these days, that's why RB have found a way to make it flex, that's why other teams are whining because of the genius brains of Adrian Newey

  • @toureyaya24 No teams are complaining because the rules clearly state that no part of the car should be designed to flex and it's thus illegal. It may pass the tests but so did ferrari's flexy floor in 2007 and it was later banned.

  • @aieljose In the end, every thing that passes the test is legal. In a sport where you need to explore the limits of the rules you can't win anything if you don't find loopholes in the rules and stay within the "spirit of the rules".

Loopholes and ingenious solutions is what F1 is all about.

The other teams are not complaining because it is against the rules. They are complaining because they didn't come up with it, and if they can get it banned they will therefore get an advantage over RB.

  • open your eyes on other teams, so far flexing wings for looks like standart
