  • hey watz the name of the song at 4:25????

  • @mexicano5021

Tracklist at the end of video. The song is "No One Else - Interphase Feat Bushman"

  • where's montreal in this?

  • Hong Kong looks Wicked!

like a scene from Star Wars or Blade Runner.

  • Comment removed

  • Bangkok should be the first. More high rise buildings are coming and Bangkok eye. and etc.

  • Most of this list I don't agree with. For one, most of China's skylines are too crowded, and have ugly color contrasts. I like Shanghai though...

  • Hong Kong!

  • wow, u shit video maker whers the Petronas twin tower? u dumb

  • where is Vancouver, British Columbia?

  • @HTownCountryFan

    Ya right? Vancouver is awesome

  • i like this video because the pics are cool and the music sounds like foreign techno

  • what hell houston tx should of had more pictures and it should of been in the freakin top five so get it there

its not fair houston deserves more skyline pictures. acording to wikipedia were the 3 skyline in america houstons is having a contruction boom it should have been right up there with new york or chicago

  • what hell housto tx should of had more pictures and it should of been in the freakin top five so get it there

  • Great list! Hard to argue with the order. Most Americans have no clue about how extensive and modernized foreigns cities have become...only New York and Chicago are keeping up...

  • @TSM8088 and houstons also keepin up check your freakin computer

  • @adam122798 Really? How many new projects over 400 ft last year?

  • Just curious, what grounds are you judging these skylines on? Asthetic appearences, #of buildings, average hight of the buildings, average square footage of the buildings, or gross size of the entire downtown?

  • No wonder why London is a faild city here the numbers 1.Its a depprison city i cant se a fucking tree anywhere almost. 2.Its for much people there so it makes many have no job smart how the fuck is trying to put 7million pp in a small city with no high towers? its all creppy bugs shit all over london

  • @mr13377 dubai would be on the 3 but whatever you know what? i have a 700km high tower here in fiji and the jungle

  • I don't think anyone would dispute Hong Kong at #1. It's such a fantastic natural setting that has lent itself to skyscraper development for decades. But surely NYC and Chicago vie for #2 and #3. These are the two original skyscraper cities. Each has fine examples dating back to the late 1800's. The diversity of styles and quality of design can't be compared to the pastiche architecture of Dubai and Chinese cities. Shanghai overall is a monstrously ugly conglomeration of shlock architecture.

  • wot no london wait till we havebuilt the shard,,,tll be the tallest building in europe

  • @MrUkbeats Interesting, do you think that you can get me an artist's rendering of the "Shard"? I just want to see what it is going to look like... Hey, i can send you pictures of models that i have built.

  • Chicago better than Tokyo

  • Wow,i'm very impressed bangkok,thailand is in number 7!

We may not have the recently new tallest in the country yet but we got alot of

180s and 200 metres condominiums coming up all over bangkok!

    (As of 2010)

The bangkok skyline is perhaps one of the best view in south east asia!

Only got nailed by hong kong but the whole skyscrapers count is way behind

bangkok's because of it's very small size compared to bangkok.

No hopes for 300+ supertall in bangkok for 2 years...

  • @brainysnaeha Same here, I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the entire metropolitan area population is just under 1 million people. The tallest building in our STATE is only 22 floors tall.

  • Hong Kong wins because it's the ONLY skyline that's got it all. Tall mountains at the back. Majestic harbour in the front and a massive and intensely concentrated cityscape.

  • WTF the best skyline in the world has

    Verden (aller) - Germany

  • who cares who's got the tallest building in the world! the bottom line is - who designed those buildings? it's an american firm based in chgo - SOM. just like your HDTV( high definition Television) - designed and patented by americans; your Facebook, youtube, emails, internet, cellphones, computers & even viagra/cialis - all americans! U GOOGLE IT IF IN DOUBT AND YOU CALL AMERICANS STUPID?

  • @vfranad Fuck Yea! AMERICA rules!!!!

  • This is a chinese opinion. haha ugly chinese

  • @honetgoat LOL

  • where is vancouver in ur list........well i hvnt seen most cities but if calgary skyline is at no 45 then vancouver must be in top 10..............like this is so stupid........calgary downtown in not even1/4th of vanc and it doesnt hve 1/10 of the highrises as compared to vancouver and it is not tht tht well organised or have a beach like vancouver.........and vancouver is constantly rated as one of the world's best cities and strange it couldnt find palce in ur so called top 51 skyline list.

  • alright mann...no detroit???? whats the deal???.....and where did u find these amazing pics....i cant find shit on google

  • ok the asian cities are becoming very popular , damn those fucking asians know how to build towers

  • I'm American...born and raised in Chicago...but I agree with Hong Kong as #1 100% Such a beautiful city!

  • sorry but i think nyc the number 1 spot

  • this rank is completely ogg, you put so many cities from china, wtf, what abpout latin america, EUROPE ??!!!!

You put Paris in 37th?!?!?!!!??!?! You crazy !!

Dubai shouldnt be 3! Their buildings have not similar architecture, they don't really combine, all with different styles, too many colours, it actually gets ugly.. also its NOTHING compared with chicago, NYC, etc..

Also Toronto should be higher, as long with Chicago ! And no im not from any of these cities, i live in Montreal...

  • wheres yow head. Hong Kong number 1?

    NYC NUMBER 1 ALWAYS

  • i think chicago is much better than dubai

  • Go HONG KONG!!!

  • PHILIPPINES IS THE BEST!GO,GO,GO!

  • In another 5-10 years only New York and Chicago (maybe San Fran also) will be in the top 50. There are 150+ supertalls plus countless other beautiful and innovative new buildings, stadia, museums, bridges, airports, etc.. under construction in China currently,,,literally thousands of projects... North America will have a lot of catching up to do.

  • chicago is going to expand in the future as well as other american cities.....

  • skylines arent made by one or two or three "SUPERTALLS" New York will ALWAYS be number 1. I dont care how many 2000 footers asia shits out.

  • Hong Kong is not part of China, British!!

  • @HKUK94 , don't make yourself look stupid.

  • Yeah, and your not??

  • right now it's part of China.

  • Yeah, so sad....

  • Chicago should have been #2

  • HK's skyline is way ahead of the next best which is NYC. There is actually an official ranking sytsem which proivides reasoning. In all honesty all you need is a pair of eyes though. 30+ of the 100 tallest buildings in the world are in HK, the harbour is magnificent and the Peak and accompanying mountains are stunning. ps. LA looks rubbish.

  • GUD VIDEO )

  • I give so much props to CHINA! I am an American but that country kicks ass. They might not share the same beliefs and cultures that we Americans have but that country accomplished what the USA did in 200 some years they did in 30 lol. Great videos by the way!

  • in 10 jears is dubai the best skyline!

  • chicago baby!! thats the best!!!

    representin!!

  • new york the best

  • what the fuck.. cheat... this is mother fucker cheat.. where the kuala lumpur city centre(KLCC) klcc is the highest twin tower

  • what?

  • @israelbitch you´re right kuala lumpur shouldn´t miss...petronas towers are the most beautiful skyscrapers on planet in my opinion

  • NYC second?:)))))))))) are u shitting me?Americans can't build SHIT..they thought they where the fucking cheese when it comes to sky-scrapers(oh an do some research first american skyscrapers were actually made by the first descendants of the english but wtvr) but then came Asia...and they wiped the floor with NYC Chicago and all those bad jokes....btw Toronto pisses over any american city...should have made the top 5 without a doubt...it is freakin' PERFECT ..#1Hong Kong,#2Toronto #3 who cares

  • and you are from..... toronto?

  • u obviously dont understand what a good skyline is. all asian cities look like trash(hong kong is an exception. if u actually visit shanghai u realize u are looking at a garbage dump the pictures they show are a small section of the business district. and toronto? that city has terrible city planning its all a bunch of box buildings with this pointy needle.

  • Then wtf is NY??? box buildings all over the place...and pretty fucking lame too combined with some pretty old buildings...a good skyline?!?...you my friend are a complete moron....at least Toronto's symbol has been built by torontorians themselves some time ago in 1976...unlike the statue of liberty which is a gift from the french way back in 1886...freakin' dumb-ass ,all garbage-eaters wish to go to NYC...PLEASE DO...that way there will be fewer retards in T.O....TORONTO THE BEST!

  • if u wanna debate ok but dont do personal atacks :P. the statue of liberty isnt even a building its a statue. and new yorks symbol is the skyline itself. it has few box buildings when compared to toronto. and u seem very biased and ignorant with how you talk. where do u live?

  • hey at least we have a gift from other places in the world. the statue of liberty is one of the mose recognized man made structures in the world....toronto? whats in toronto? hmm? canada is shit and you are yet another brainless canadian who thinks toronto stands a chance. NYC>Toronto...actually... NYC>Canada

  • @freemanssss Yea And Dont get me started about the Empire State Building and the Crysler Building.

  • @freemanssss Toronto is a nice city, the skyline and downtown core however can't compare with these other world hubs. And just FYI, I lived in and is currently living in Toronto.

  • @freemanssss Dude, most of the buildings in New York City are "function over fashion" which means that they are built to get a job done. If you look at buildings the way that I do, you would think that they are beautiful. I try to include both beauty and functionality. My father always said, "To me, functionality is beauty..." I can send you some pictures of models that i have built of both buildings and bridges if you like.

  • @freemanssss

Um I honestly think the only reason u r saying this is cuz u r from Toronto and the USA cities r awesome

  • @freemanssss take it easy man.

  • @freemanssss The Toronto skyline is boring and dull. They have one tall tower, big deal! Better than Chicago or New York, get your head examined!

  • Yeah I agree with the youtube clip. I live in New York, but Hong Kong's Skyline is the best. However, just wait until Dubai is completed, it may or may not change our mindsets. Hong Kong's Skyline is truly breathtaking if you see it in real life as is New York's as well. For those of you guys who disagree, you have to really experience it at hand to believe it.

  • Hong kong is nice.but, small place.

I think NY city is best.

  • Pls check and vid COMMENT AND RATE

    youtubecom /watch?v=slt9PQHEllk

    Cheers

  • Hong Kong actually is not so small. It has a total land area of just over 1000square KMs. That's 40% larger than Singapore. The skyline featured here is but the absolutely hardcore downtown of HK>

  • Also NYC ROCKS!

  • Londons doing alot.

  • Miami!!!

  • you did the rankings based on height..........backround, originality, density?

  • no I just said Miami for the hell of it. Miamis skyline has grown a lot if the past 10 yeats but has a long ways to go.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING???? I thought chicago would be in first!!!! It has the best skyline i have ever seen... the best in the world.(and where the skyskraper was invented... and new york does not have a better skyline are you kidding???)

  • Its way too expensive to build in London.

Perhaps if they bring over some cheap labor from certain asian countries, they could manage to build some...

  • Same goes for Miami and Sunny Isle Beach.

    Soul, Incheon and Songnam.

    Dubai and Ajman.

    Tokyo, Saitama and Chiba.

If you want to divide Seoul, Dubai and Tokyo into "city-sections", and at the same time you have Dallas and Fort Worth listed as one, then the whole thing seems very random!

You could just as well have added Shenzhen up with Hong Kong as well for example.

  • You cannot on one end have it like this:

Paris (inc La Defense & périphérique suburbs)

Kuala Lumpur (inc Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya)

New York (inc Jersey City, Fort Lee, Guttenburg)

And on the other end I see Shanghai and Suzhou listed different.

Tokyo and Yokohama is listed different (Note, that they even merged into one city a few years ago!!!)

    Kobe and Osaka listed different....

    Sharjah and Dubai listed different...

  • Shantou is glimmering with its absense...

thats what I was trying to tell you. I also see that alot of "twin cities", most of them being in china is listed as separate cities. That also goes for Minneapolis and St.Paul.

When you talk about a few kilometers dividing the skylines (shorter than between new york upper and lower, then it is basically the same skyline.

So either the list is flawed, or this never was about skylines. Its about some metric/mass meassurement...

  • Forget that I mentionned St.Petersburg.

But where on that rankingsite you got the list from, is Shantou listed?

  • look for yourself! the link is in the description. Remember that only buildings over 90m are counted.

  • Gold Coast, Santiago?

  • Honululu, Auckland, Rotterdam, Warsaw...

I wouldn't wanna start to make a huge list like you have, but you could take in about 15 other skylines, and have a more impressive list imo.

  • Could also consider Denver and Montreal.

In china you could have taken Shenyang, Shantou and Hangzhou into consideration

  • Other cities left out who could have been good candidates: Frankfurt, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro and San Diego!

But what you completely blanked out on here is Benidorm in Spain!

  • Chongquing > Guangzhou(Canton) and Bangkok

Further down the list I kinda felt Toronto was given a bad treatment. And Seattle could have been 10 places higher.

Apart from forgetting LA, you also forgot to include cities like St.Petersburgh, Johannesburg and London. Perhaps also Minneapolis/St.Paul was kept out by a misstake too.

  • New York City has a great skyline.

  • The Reason Why New York City can't build skyscrapers as fast as Hong Kong and Dubai, is because of the way the economy is.

  • and you forgot L.A. So your list doesn't make any sense, dick head. Go take world geography again.

  • LA was an honest mistake, I had the picture but in the process of making the film i somehow missed them, sorry.

  • you should put Hong Kong, China.

You should think base on the fact not your own judgement.

  • bangkok!

  • i completely agree with your list, maybe shoulda had vancouver..but can't hate. great video

  • NY should be #1, I mean nothing can possibly beat it!!!

  • nothing but los angeles my nigga

    LA NUMBAH ONE!

  • Nah son, NY is the beastiest shit!

  • shoo' nah my nigga

  • Dawg, I'ma tell yo ass that Big A. is my shit son!

  • true but nothin beats LA

  • I don't know about that! I mean NY has the greatest skyline in the world...

  • nuh uh just look at LA's skyline and i CHALLENGE you not to get a boner

  • hmm... well it is pretty nice (and I din't get a boner just jet), but if you take a look at Manhattan your pants will completly drop to the floor and your Johnson will be begging to get some...

  • LA's skyline is crap and everyone knows it outside LA

  • You two Fucknuts got it all wrong, Hong Kong 1# Chicago 2# New York 3# and as for LA WTF thats no Skyline it's a Fucking Joke ya Jag off. You Bastards from so cal will claim to be no 1# in anything stay the fuck out of this it's Shamefull. Go talk about the Largest Freeways or largest Gay Population Yeah that's what LA is all about Later Freak.

  • chicagos my favorite skyline

  • sears tower in chicago is chicagos only building taller than trump tower

  • Seoul , Moscow , Tokyo , Hongkong , Shanghai , Dubai are the best skylines outder!

  • Chicago should definitely be #1. That's Numero uno for all you spanish mofo's.

  • you forget Istanbul, ankara, antalya, konya, izmir, cairo, ryadh and tehran! not very nice list!!

  • No I did not forget Istanbul. And the other cities you listed don't even have skyscraper so.... go away

  • Konya got great skyscraper! And marrakech even got 200m high mosque! ryadh got 300m high skyscraper!! Islamic cities are the futere of architekture so... accept it!!!!

  • but they don't have a skyline, one skyscraper is nothing, and you can't make a skyLINE with ONE skyscraper.

  • I am a chink and I agree that most chink cities are overrated.

    Top 10:

NYC, Chicago, Dubai, Tokyo, Toronto, Bangkok, Seoul, Mumbai, Manila, Kuala Lumpur

  • No you are wrong. Quite a lot of Chinese cities are really amazing in terms of their skyscrapers. When did you go to China last time? Ten years ago?

  • im from the philippines, and im a bit proud that you put or concider our skyline on top 15, it surpast the other cities wich is richer and more popular than our country,, thank you,,,

  • thank you for concidering manila on your list... but i think most of the list are rigth coz china already emerge on thier building...

  • @sabw1866 I doubt you are a "chink". Because no self-respecting Chinese would call themselves "chink" which is a derogatory term coined by xenophobic westerners. It's just the same as no american "negro" would want to call themselves "niggers" mostly called by whites and no "white" people would refer to themselves as "white trash" which is used by asians on some westerners that bahaved like scums of the earth.

  • Hong Kong was beautiful and all, I Still believe Chi-City should have made the top 4 market, but I think it's number one , due to the night with its lights glimmering of the lake shore instead of a neon type color . Not to mention the Sears Tower and the new spire coming forth in 2012 but heh we all have our opinions

  • its a tie between hong kong and new york

  • How about Los Angeles? It has a great skyline!

  • wat about portland! haha jk, just showin some hometown love

  • Cowrunkey, sorry to double post, but we can get our revenge (I live in the NYC metro area), when the Freedom Tower opens, 2011...

  • Anyone noticied that Asia is the most represented continent? A bunch of Chinese cities, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, dubai, abu dhabi, etc?

  • Haha New York and Hong Kong....maybe Ghana is next

  • Great video!!! Amazing...

    Very nice background music......

  • I will disable comments if you idiots don't stop spamming. GFTO **some comments deleted**

  • full of slums

  • HK is special in that it is built on a hill and so has 3D. The harbor is great.

A night show with firework and light beams may not work so well in other places. In HK one can see many buildings standing on the ground from across the harbor in kowloon.

  • i grew up in hong kong and i dont see how hong kong's skyline better than New York and i honestly most of the Chinese cities in these video are overrated.

  • what are you smoking?

  • anyway, better than india slum

  • Baiyoke Tower <3. I feel Europe, Aussie and USA have been somewhat neglected on this rank. A skyline takes time as well as skyscraper count; Asia is only a very recent addition to the "skyscraper race". I still think New York heads the rank. It offers the rank, as it offers a nice blend of industrial and contemporary architecture.

Places such as Chongqing... that's not architecture. It's just cheap housing.

  • have a source of lankings

  • china is doing great!!! and is hong kong part of china? or is it a country?

  • It's a country, not part of China.

  • Hong Kong is part of China politically though economically it is an independent entity. Hong Kong was handed to China by Britian in 1997 and HK is called a special administrative region(SAR) in China, which is similar to a province. Also, HK has no diplomatic power as part of China. Therefore, HK is an special economic entity and part of China, not a country.

  • You are so wrong there m8! Hong Kong is in all sense a region with western values such as free press and human rights in stark contrast to the mainland. But many parts of China are now becoming part of Hong Kong, I hope that in the future all of China will be like Hong Kong. Then China will be the greatest country ever!

  • parts of china becoming part of china? no hong kong is aprt of china and was from the start but then british rule took over and was handed over back to china after 100 years of rule, hk is a sar of china so you are soo wrong there m8

  • I agree with you on that. But it doesn't change the fact that politically Hong Kong is part of China. Have you ever heard that in 1997 Britian handed over Hong Kong to China? This is the ample fact that HK is not a independent country. I agree that HK is quite unique in many ways and it is considered an independent economic entity. But it is NOT considered to be a country!!

  • damn right

  • It was a "country" under British rule prior to 1997. After 1997, it becomes a part of China but functions as a SAR. But even under UK, it is still considered a colony rather than an independent country. Either way, HK is never fully independent. Only uninformed people and those in self-denial like yourself will like to believe that.

  • @rifleshooterdude mr 13377 is misleading you with his subjective view. He may have a bone of contention with CHina but he should deny the facts. Anyone aware of major world events knows that Hongkong was returned to China in 1997. Politically it's a part of China but economically it's pretty independent with its own democracy and rule of law.

  • my all ask a question where is the philippines??

  • wow is it just coincidence that half of the BS comment are made by people from philipines??

You guys really must have no patience whatsoever.

  • whatever

  • DUBAI>ALL

  • bangkok ranks at 7!! good job!

    proud of u!!

  • To me Chicago has the best skyline and then NYC. so this video has no credibility.

  • thank you very much for your input. However as stated in the description this video only shows the points of the skylines based on the formula in the description, which one is the best is always a personal opinion.

  • haha

its kinda great that it depends on the amount of buildings

so Hong Kong will definitely remains to be #1 for awhile cuz no matter how the other cities keep building extremely tall buildings like burj dubai, quantity wins quality!!!

of cuz Hong Kong has quality, but more importantly is quantity!!! lol

  • WTF..

Toronto shuld hav been on 3rd..

2nd culd hav been NYC n 1st is always Hong Kong

  • philly?????? philly??? omg were are you philly????

they are making a 1,500 feet building in philly~

    PHILADELPHIA?~~!!

  • I think New York is the BEST !!! never been there but i want to visit it alot :)

  • It's hard to believe that Chicago is ranked #6.............5 maybe, but not 6.

I expected for Hong Kong to win the title. It almost ran rings around New York.

  • New York has the most high rises in the world. How does Hong Kong run "rings" around it?

  • Itomic, I'm just going by what I've seen on this video. If Hong Kong is ranked #1, then so be it. And if N.Y.C. has more high rise buildings, then Hong Kong must be trailing by an eyelash based on the footage in this video.

I expected H.K. to win but I disagree with the rankings too. And my hometown (Chicago) should have easily rank at least 3rd or 4th based on the major high construction that's still occuring throughout our downtown (Loop) area.

  • guys do some basic research first please. Look at the link in the description and you will find out that itomic is nothing but a big-mouth making up his own "facts".

  • altonw, if Chicago is ranked #6, then so be it. Do you really believe Chicago out did the world's other two biggest and most advanced mega cities - Tokyo and Shanghai?

I'm contented with my hometown's (Bangkok) 7th rank. Having been to Chicago twice, I feel the 6th place for Chicago very convincing.

  • KP, our city has seen a growth of major high rise buildings popping up throughout the Loop area 'til it's almost unbelieveable. Not only that, the downtown area(s) of our city has expanded which helped constitute drastic changes on the Near North Side and in an area now known as the South Loop. Whether if Chicago had out did Tokyo and Shanghai is anyone guess, but being ranked 6th (to me) isn't correct in my honest opinion. Our entire Loop area has changed a lot, believe.

  • I agree with you that Chicago has changed a lot. But, wouldn't you think Tokyo, Dubai and Shanghai must have seen a big change too?

It is not beliefs or other subjective factors but total height facts that count in this highly objective ranking. This is also why Bangkok, with its much greater total height but overall less impressive architecture and land scape, is ranked places above Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

  • Chicago is an actual skyline, look at it! Duabi is nothing yet and New York is just a bunch of clustered buildings.......look at any real top 10 and chicago is #2 or #3

  • los angeles

  • wheres charrlotte

  • I reckon Seoul is just as good or even better than Tokyo in some ways. but its just my opinion, nice vid man keep it up

  • naw...tokyo has more buildings

  • I LOVE HONG KONG!

  • Again, very good video! Thanks!
