I never got that - why simply charge Chutney with the murder? She just admitted in front of a judge, a jury, a room full of witnesses and at least 4 lawyers that she shot the man. There's no way in hell she could be found not guilty, right?

@NxyDolli it's just simple procedure as that trial was to see if brooke killed her husband. She was found not guilty so case is over, have to have a new case for a new charge. But yes, she confessed so it'll just be a simple procedural thing.

This film is very good, it's got a really good message and all of the characters are believable and the writing is clever too. This is a great film, sorry to say that I really disliked the sequel though it didn't have the same heart as this one.
