this is so sweet :) my goat sandi is due to kid any day now, her sister kidded two days ago..and i can't wait for hers, since she's mine ^.^

thanks! I actually bought one from my school a few months ago ( i'm apart of the FFA program) and he actually died :/ we think his bladder exploded.

Did you end up bottle feeding any of the kids?

We had to bottle feed one early on because the mom rejected him. The others we bottle fed eventually so that we could get more milk.

@pocketsofthefuture 1 of are goats named goegie we had a runt nigerian dwarf an she rejected him but the wheel barrel feel on him an he died

Hey guys,

You should let the kid have the chance to stand up on its own and come to its mom for milk! It is harder for the kid to stand up in a pile of hey.

Thank you for your comment. Kids and other livestock need to nurse and get colostrum within the first hour of birth or they are not as healthy. If the birth is rough then the kid can become disorientated and not nurse.
