i think the reason they "explode" is because they're cell jrs, if it was anyone else i dont think that would happen, and the reason he cant do it anymore is because he stops training to study and becomes weak, he was the strongest coz goku died but they brought him back in the buu saga, and if it makes you fell any better chichi does die, buu kills her along with the rest of earth
