These officers killed this poor man by their actions and should be convicted of murder. Their lies and the coverup of the facts are staggering. The police dept. has the duty to protect the people it serves, this death serves no one.
@wrjamescom These people are indeed wannabe marxists.. they aren't changing the world.. they are just making racket. The thing thats upsetting to me about anti racists or marxists doing these very preachings are the amounts of black faces amongst them being ZERO much of the time. In these times, I am siding with warriors and people who will actually be revolutionary and protecting the borders from scum.
@TheMeltinResponse More often than not in such cases, the reason you don't see black faces is simply because there aren't many blacks in the area, or there simply aren't many blacks interested. How many blacks would you expect to see at a square dance in the Ozarks? I'm sure there are blacks who square dance, and there are blacks in the Ozarks. But both tend to be very uncommon. So if you don't see any there, it's not due to racism, but simply cultural demographics and statistics.
@wrjamescom Oh dude, there are blacks in Portland. All these white liberals need to do is unite with them and become their friends, but I have the feeling they don't even do that. They don't even want to be around the muds lol.
Not many at all in the Ozarks square dancing lol.
Thats also true, cultures are different and this is why you don't see blacks in certain places although now it seems like blacks are trying to get into anything white so an Uncle Tom black could be the one squaredancin
@TheMeltinResponse Come on! Give Uncle Tom some credit. If you read the book he was hardly a friend to the white man. Other than the innkeeper who told Many there was no room, Uncle Tom is perhaps the most improperly hated guy in fiction. But my point was that while some things tend to involve only one race or tend not to involve a race, that is in no way an indication of racism.
@ Omegatide.Coward? thats funny. I know more about this case than you will ever be allowed to know, because your a nobody. You sit at home and run your mouth, congratulations on that, your in the majority. Why dont you spend some time confronting sex offenders, gang members, rapists, meth addicts, ect. matter of fact, make it your career. oh wait, you cant, nor would you. Because your scared, and yet you chastise those that do. Spend some time protecting those that hate you, you spineless rat.
You know what amazes me. Is that some of you people comment on these situations when you don't know what your taking about. You don't know what happened, you weren't there. These videos are a joke, Chasse was killed by Kyle Nice? He wasn't even in the car when he died, it was Humphries and Burton. Communities policing themselves? HAHAHAHA!! Who do you call when your children are missing? Who do you call to stand between you and the sociopaths that rape and murder? Your lemmings.
@sunwun1 Well you prove you dont know a thing about the case. Nice tackled Chasse. Chasse died as a result from massive rib damage from blunt force trauma. Feeling stupid? Nice tackled and "arrested" him. Withheld all information to AMR. Who killed Chasse? Read Humphrys testomony a few days after he helped kill James. Amazing he cant remember, uh remember, uh any, uh thing, uh, I think, uh I'm not sure, ya. Shame on you coward, do you know anything about what happened?
Be alert people, keep a watchful eye, if police were innocent or justified in the death of James Chasse, then the police would have produced their evidence three years ago! There are some cops who do not deserve to be cops, period!
Portland citizens don't have what it takes to fight for anything. They're all soft, dirty, fat, and passive. The next aggressive posturing I see from a group of Portland "radicals" will be the first. Call me if you need some force.
fat? i thought most portlanders were vegans and such...not too many run ins with fat portlanders....did you see some in the vid or is that your assumption?
I notice you didn't argue with dirty, soft, and passive. During most of the 1990's Portland, Oregon was ranked in the top 5 consistently in the nations most overweight cities. We had one year at number 2 just behind San Antonio, Texas. As a resident of the NW 23rd area not only do I observe bloated ego's and fence sitting narcissists, but I observe the lines out the door for Escape from NY Pizza.
Go spend an hour in the parking lot of the 24 Hour Fitness in the Pearl. Never mind that most of the trainers are clinically obese, but people will wait in their car for 15 minutes or more for parking. People coming to "work out", but avoiding that daunting hike from off-street parking to the front desk. OHSU has been long sought after by magazines like The Skeptic and even Scientific American for studies performed on the obesity epidemic. Where do the get their test subjects?
Let's not forget this is brewery town, we even have brewery blocks. You know the fact that I should even have to tell you this must make you anti-information. You're the worst activist ever. Activism should require cited sources and some sort of vetting process before you put on a dirty shirt with nursery rhyme style acronyms sharpied to the front. Portland has no swing. Beirut, Rio, hell even Seattle...Those guys can get down.
You're facts are wrong. The police called for medical after the fight with Chasse. The paramedics gave the ok to go to jail. When they got to jail, they were told he needed to go to the hospital. The police DID try to provide medical attention.
Now that is beside the fact that when an officer tried to stop Chasse after he was urinating in public, he ran and fought the officer. His death is a tragedy, but it was not because of any malicious intent on the part of the police.
So at 3 o clock in the morning where is a homeless man supposed to pee? Have you ever been to a bar? They close at 230 in which case anyone who needs to take a piss has to either go home or piss in the bushes or whatever. It's a bodily function. The homeless man HAS NO HOME therefore he HAS to piss in the streets. I publically "expose" myself just about every time I'm in downtown Portland. Big deal. I feel no guilt in relieving myself in the only place available late at night. Where would you p?
This actually happened in the middle of the afternoon. And there is a state law called offensive littering--when something degrades the cleanliness or appearance of someone's property. Urinating on the side of someone's building is a crime. No, it is not ok to do.
so then you support that he was beaten to death for possibly peeing in a bush? Maybe for peeing on Bush...
I've been beat by the portland police, twice, way drunk outside a bar with friends waiting for a ride. My detainment was tolerable but after I leave the scene, handcuffed and barely able to stand I was treated as youd expect of a kiddie diddler. Good thing I'm not frail like Chasse, 4 of them attack for me yelling as you'd expect a hogtied confused drunk to do.
i never said i support him being "beaten to death". i said that what he was doing was a crime and they had the legal right to stop him for it. it wasn't like they just went down the street and picked him and said, "Yep, we'll beat him today." they tried to stop him for a crime and he ran away and resisted arrest. they did not intentionally kill him and they had no way of knowing he was mentally ill. it is a tragedy that he died and i never said otherwise.
well, in this case, the intention was to control someone who was actively resisting and fighting them. the intention was not to kill him. as i have said over and over, it is a tragedy that he died, but the officers did not "murder" him as so many people like to claim.
dude, it was a beanbag round, not a rubber bullet. two different things. the girl had just hit another officer in the face and was fighting and kicking at them. he shot her in the leg one time (causing only a small bruise). she then stopped resisting and all use of force stopped at that point. the beanbag round did exactly what it was supposed to do--stopped her from fighting further. the girl's own mother apologized to the officers for her daughter's behavior afterward.
it's not punishment--it is controlling someone who is fighting with you and hitting you. tell me what the officers should have done. what would you do with an out of control kid who just hit you in the face and is kicking at you when you try to take hold of them? since you obviously know better ways than the officers in question.
well, being a father of 3 and my oldest in his teens, i can tell you physical harm, is called abuse. when you yourself was to be smacked by a 12 year old, and you shot her to defend yourself....tell me how you think thats gonna turn out for you in court. what do you think they would charge you with? i can detain my 13 year old son easily without weapons or physical harm...this cop "Nice" is a criminal who assults people, and sometimes kills people...plain and simple
and you are avoiding common knowledge...there is only one way to answer your question, grab and cuff for this cop...its a 12 year old girl for christ sake! If my son pulled that stunt, I sure as hell wouldn't shoot or beat the shit out of him. It is my responsibility as a parent and adult and a role model for me not to loose control in such a mannor, in order to set a good example. I dont want kids thinking they can hit or shoot some1 when things aren't going their way....
to know that you would even think this kind of reaction is tolerable is sickening. if a kid fights back, shoot em or hit them no matter the age, if a human runs......kill. good pretences you have there. you animal.
@boogysplit you are an idiot. and you're not reading my posts. i never said to kill someone who runs. i said the officers didnt intentionally kill Chasse and it is a tragedy that he died. that is the exact opposite of what you are claiming i said.
@eamonob84 Sure. They didn't mean to kill him. They just meant to brutalize him. Bravo to these brave young people. Cops are not above the law. It is appalling that they beat people up all the time & get away with it. This time, apparently, they got away with a beating that resulted in a homicide. But the victim was homeless, so no one cares--except these courageous kids who protested. Remember the four RCMP cops who tasered a man to death in Vancouver airport? Makes you not trust cops.
@eamonob84 Hey idiot, she was 12 years old, MAYBE 90 pounds. I am 190 pounds and I could pick that little girl up like a ragdoll and throw her through a window. How would you like to get shot (with ANY kind of round) instead of detained the correct and professional way?
@420witchdoctor she was actually about 150lbs and had just hit an officer in the face. they did do it the correct way--they got her under control as fast and as safely as possible. she had a small bruise on her leg, that was it. she would have probably been hurt worse if they tried to wrestle with her, or as you would do apparently, throw her through a window.
eamonob84, first of all everything I hear (being a portland resident) is that it's not known he was peeing in public. Seemingly easy thing to prove, witnesses or fresh piss @ the scene, but alas, all there was was a frail mentally ill man with 26 breaks to 16 rips and multiple cuts and abrasions + tazing. It's procedure that tazed suspects go to the hospital, mainly because a paramedic is not a doctor, that's why they don't drive a mercedes or owe 10s of 1000ds of $ in student loans.
no it's not a procedure that tazed people go to the hospital. it is a procedure that they are checked by medical on the scene. the paramedics determine whether they need to go to the hospital which, yes, they are trained to do. I am also a portland resident and all i ever read about or heard was that he was urinating in public.
well, considering both the paramedics missed such massive internal injuries indicates to me they are far to inept to be served with protecting the public.
If the world was like Of Mice and Men they would be shot to protect us from their incompetence.
Yes, they missed it. that doesn't change the fact that the police did not intentionally kill him, or the fact that he had committed a crime, ran from officers and resisted arrest.
So you would be ok with shooting paramedics for making a mistake, but you are outraged at someone dying after fighting with the police? that's liberal portland for you....
hmmm...sexist, racist...might wanna check who's chief...and check up on a tragic accident where a man was mistakenly cleared for transport when he shouldn't have been...get a life
