lol hahaha no.. m3s are made for the track. especially if you build it for the track. drop all the weight, suspension , and a turbo 500-1200hp. will kill ANY supercar around track, strait-line. Its just physics. double its power, and same weight of course. You can take an M3 down below 2500lbs, seen it, murders the track

The Ferrari F40 LMs, well lets just say there an awesome car and the later LM GTE will kill most cars on the track. My rich Italian Uncle ..bastard.. has one..won't let me drive it..don't blame him. Runs 800hp on the track (725) is stock, thats it no more..has had 900 hp..before.. Crack On The Track!..holy crap!..same turbos just alot of boost.

They made 1311 F40's 7 F40 GT's (All stock except for Tyres and rollcage. 9 F40C's for the Italian and Japanese GT series (Exactly the same as the GT's) 19 Ferrari F40 LM's and only 6 Ferrari F40 GTE's

@JuergenGDB The F40 LM's ran with IHI Turbos cranked up to 2.6bar and set the compression to 8.0:1 also they had begger Behr intercoolers etc. 760Bhp.

GT and C spec cars were set at 560bhp and were regulated by its series but the turbo was cranked up by + 0.1 The F40 GTE was a true capable monster, and were an upgrade of the LM. Bigger brakes, new wheels, a One piece rear wing, transmission from the Ferrari SP333 650bhp with restricters, without 800bhp, 6 speed vs the LM's 5 speed.

And it was an LM..but with the GTE stuff he purchased..Yes and its costly!. the X- trac six speed gear box, bigger than the 3 L motor (3.6 L), body stuff and so on.this car is his life..I enjoy riding in it ever chance I get..wouldnt trade it for the world!

And yes I can look things up,and have friends at a local Ferrari dealership.. So whats the Chassis # of this LM, would be nice to know its history.

@Seanbug63 just a minor correction, there is no such car as a F40LM GTE, its either a LM or GTE as they all have their own chassis numbers. 6 GTE, 19 LM, 9 C, 7 GT and 1311 F40 (Stock) As you can see Michelotto prepared only 41 purpose built race cars. either for the GT, C series depending where you raced, or the more powerful LM and finally in its late stage career wise the upgunned GTE or some would say the GTEII chassis.

By the way, those are just not F40's... they look more like F40LM's... very rare.. very expensive. I would say they would have a advantage over the BMW even with Dado's HP... the F40 is a purpose built race car.

I agree, I have a 997 C4S modified, and I doubt even I could keep up with the F-40, and that one looks like a F40LM which has about 650-700bhp. its hard to tell if the wing is black on the F40, it it is, its most likely a very rare F40LM. Basicaly for us DTM freaks, you need at lest 600hp and need to weigh about 1100kg to keep up with that Ferrari.

After watching this video again. It is a Ferarri F40LM. Not sure what version but its an awesome car. The M3 sounds great, probably running around 450hp+ I have a great respect for semi-pro and amature drivers persuing their dreams of taking their cars on track instead of letting them sit in the garage.

@Seanbug63 Yes I know of their Existance however they did not make that many F40 GTE's. maybe 24-30 tops. Their rated HP was 700+ although capable of larger turbos, you would not really see a 900hp track car...although it would be cool.. just not practical for a track.

North american version e36 m3's are not so much the s50motor, they came as a bored out 2.5l and lacked the advance vanos of euro versions. Therefore they had less power, 240hp to be exact.

Good point. Even if he did though, he'd never be able to keep pace in a track (non-dragstrip) environment. If they were really pushing it here, we'd notice by the sound and speed, and the fact that the F40's gap, due to it's racecar-bred design and characteristics, would pull away even farther.
