I really hope he succeeds at Arizona. From the biggest Michigan fan you'll meet, he was never the right man for the job here, and now we are on the verge of a BCS bowl in our first year in his absence with a lot of credit going to him as a recruiter and developer of our QB Denard Robinson. Hoke has turned the talent into the right system and we believe again in Ann Arbor. Still I wish nothing but the best for coach Rodriguez.

Imagine knowing him when he was just a small town coach in the mid 90's at Glennville. I wish I could go back to those days and tell him how big of an ass he is going to be oneday. He chose this road, now he has to live with it. Just don't come back to WV and I will be happy.
Brady Hoke has been pretty good about being gracious to Rich Rod. He had his failings, most notably the tone he set which drove players away, but I think if he'd had another season he would've continued to improve. The bad fit and the lack of basic football fundamentals sealed it early, though. We can say honestly that he built a good foundation for what Hoke will do with the team. Best of luck Rich.

I think spread option will work better at a smaller school to help raise program awareness where fewer players are NFL bound but I can see where his system could be effective at preparing talent for pro systems regardless.

The offense was not the problem at Michigan it was the defense. The player development on defense was poor and each season the defense got worse. Brady Hoke is a guy who understands the tradition at Michigan and knows that the Midwest has to be the foundation for recruiting.

u all are morons rich rod took a fast kid from florida who was recruited as a ath and who by many people said he would never play a down at michigan or any other college at qb and made him mvp of the big ten and had him breaking recordss left and right WITHOUT A GAMEBREAKER AT RB ..next year we will have two great backs in hayes and hart and our offense will be even better .If our defense would step up COUGH COUGH GREG ROBINSON then we would be a great team

I almost feel sorry for this guy. Hes grippin and reaching for something that isn't there. Michigan was once a proud program but that is a thing of the past. Its not Rich Rod fault its the players. News flash to everyone knowone wants to go to Michigan anymore. They either want to go to OSU or some SEC school. Quit living in the past fans. Because in the present Michingan is a 8-4 team at best. so start lowering your expectations

His only allegiances are to a paycheck . He is blackballed from the state of West Virginia. He has no home. Michigan is currently in a downward cycle in their program. He would have enjoyed more success at West Virginia. I am not a WVU fan but they were betrayed . Rodriguez will eventually get the boot and be a coordinator at a high profile program .

How many times can this guy sell his soul? If it wasn't for Shoelaces, Michigan would only have two or three wins this year. Even so, RR will be back in 2011 (partially because Harbaugh isn't going anywhere),

He has to want it so much that the players can see it in him, and it's not like that right now. He has to recruit bigger and better players, and he has to develop the killer instinct that will make others scared to come to Ann Arbor......oh, and he has to beat Ohio St. too.

@jejesdad I think he's a great coach when Denard or Pat White is his quarterback. I honestly think he has proven himself over and over as being a weak leader. Now that Harbaugh is staying in Stanford, I am afraid Michigan is stuck with RR.

I defended this man through and through. That was until, I heard this. Look, the fact is Michigan was spoiled over the past 33 seasons before Rich Rod came to Ann Arbor. Rich Rod's record...'08 3-9, '09 5-7, '10 7-5...15-21 overall. I'm a Michigan fan, and though I hate losing, this is good for Michigan in the long run. It brought us back to earth. That being said, how many teams can say they've gone to a bowl game 34 out of the past 36 seasons? But Rich Rod going 15-21 is terrible. Fire RR.
