just to be clear, the attackers are always free to take a quick kick unless the referee makes it ceremonial which he did not. Had the keeper touched the ball before it crossed the goal line the goal would have counted

The goalkeeper touched the ball after being passed by a teammate with his foot. To restart play, the blue team gains an INDIRECT free-kick. The player from the blue team kicks the ball DIRECTELY into the goal. The referee did good not allowing the goal and giving the goalkeeper's team a free-kick from the goal.

if the player passed it to one of his teammates and scored it, it would be a goal. However, he shoot the ball as a direct foul and that's why it's not a goal! there is nothing to do with the referee whistle!

Hah, The attacker took the shot with a quick play trying to unsettle the keeper and goad him into touching the ball. If the keeper touched the ball before it went into the goal, then the goal stands. It looks to me as if the referee and AR thought the keeper missed the ball though, the goal did not stand. An IDK only requires one other player to touch the ball before it can be scored. There is no discrimination on who that one player can be team mate or opponent.

The referee stopped play with his bown whistle when he called the indirect free kick for an intentional pass to the keeper from field player. The goal is in material here regardless if the player knows the rule about the diference between a direct or in-direct kick. If the officall did not restart the game by blowing his whistle, then the goal scored is nullified and the indirect free kick is retaken properly. We will never know this because we have no sound on the video.

mtreick, what are you talking about? Just becasue a whistel was blown for a foul (idf or df) it DOES NOT require a whistel to be blown to restart play. A whistle is only required when the player taking the kick asks to have 10 yds set, that is the only time you "need" a whistle." Your explaination about "restarting the game by blowing the whistel" is NOT part of the game.

2 Things here,

Firstly it is an IDK from where the incident occured, i.e. where the keeper touched the ball with his hands.

Second it is an IDK, i.e. that means 2 different people have to touch this before it enters the goal. so the question is did the keeper touch it after it was kicked and before it entered the net and is the ref happy with the position the kick was taken from.

after the keeper receives a pass from his own team which he handles with his hands an indirect free kick is given, i play goalkeeper in a number 1 team premier division here. its a well known rule to most keepers.

The position paper which is cited does not refer to the situation shown in this video. This video only demonstrates a) the attacker does not know the difference between an Indirect Free Kick and a Direct Free Kick offense, and b) the referee did not properly signal for an IFK
