  • The Honey Cone rock my world. As Gamble and Huff would later say 'There's a message in the music'.

  • This is one of the best testaments of a Woman's Empowerment!!!!

  • US Army AFCENT 1972... WOW!!!!

  • Best version EVER!. The original 45. I love it, because as a younger man, I was full schemes and always tried to make the girls dependent on my. After 2 wives and 7 kids later with two younger daughters at still home...after a recent 'disagreement' my wife played some old songs and this one struck me to my heart! Thanks

  • whoa I can't believe I found this song. I love it. Thanks for posting!!

  • I love this songs, it will help build you back up. I love the Honey Cones.....

  • The Honeycone are my favorite female soul group. They should have been as big as the Supremes.

  • I'm so glad you're gone, you made me strong - this song should be the mantra for most women say it, sing it and become strong within yourself. No more excuses.

  • I love the Honeycone!!

  • Agree with you big time mrob. Sweet soul extrordinaire. Betcha didn't know Carolyn Willis was the third vocalist in Seals & Crofts Get Closer.

  • @moparfan59 I've known it for years!!!

  • This has to be one of the MOST UNDERRATED songs of the 1970s! I've always wondered why this group didn't even take off higher?! I have a feeling that they were mismanaged and under the right production crew, we probably would have heard more from this talented group of ladies!

  • From the artists and writers to the arrangers, there was so much raw talent out there in those days. This music is in every way superior to, almost all of the the crap coming out now. Proof of this...the test of time. We'll just see which musical era will be most remembered and missed. My bet...the 60's and early 70's.

  • i absolutely love honey cone.
