@johnnydeppszwifey this video is pretty old, nowadays all new laptops and desktops come with hdmi inputs and same for flat screen tvs so if you have that input just buy a 5 dollar hdmi cable and connect through that. However laptops that are slightly older like from 2 or 3 years ago don't have the hdmi input so that's an issue. You can still get a usb to hdmi converter for those.
AMP is crap..... I prefer VLC and a projection of 52 inches on my wall.... You have not lived until you have played Warcraft with your guy almost as tall as you lol oh and dont forget the 1500 watt rca surround sound
Its better to just upgrade both your Laptop and TV and use the HDMI cable to do this. HD tvs are not expensive anymore and laptops are on the same boat.
hey i have a problem with my HD VISIO.. after i connect my RGB cable to my laptop my tv loadsup right untill the login screen and then it turns blue and says no signal and boots up my regular moniter.
I have recently bought a 4 prong s video, my laptop 7 prong connection and my tv has a 4 prong connection. I have done everything exactly as showed in this video yet it still hasnt came up. any suggestions on why this is happening?
There is kind of huge problem, if a computer is missing the video outlet. But yes, you can use the VGA connection with a special adapter, but Macs? Specially the older ones... I can't.
@Nuclear793 Then you're screwed, lol. Actually, there are VGA to S-Video adapters, search Google. You'll find them...though video quality isn't that great.
Luckily, though, with today's technology, most laptops come with HDMI ports and most (if not all) TVs also have HDMI ports. A few years ago, nobody really used TVs as monitors, so it wasn't important. But in today's age, a lot of people do this so it's easier. Time to upgrade to the future my friend, lol.
@matrix86 In the 80's almost everyone used TV as a monitor :D but it died later on when PC computers took over the world, Atari, C64, Amiga and so on.
Hi, I was wondering If you can actually use your TV moniter as a Computer monitor. I tried this, but the resolution really sucks. Can I fix this? or do I have to get a HDMI adapter thigy to make it better?
@Robozarm yes s-video is meant for low resolution. if you are just watching a tv show or a movie on netflix, or a video on youtube, then you should easily get away with it, but it is meant for movies, or a cable box. you will notice when you are watching a tv show or a movie, it is a lot better quality than the regular RCA jacks. but if you are using your tv as a computer moniter, you would want it to be super high resolution, which you can only have through HDMI or VGA on an HDTV. Good luck! ;)
Someone answer plz: I'm planning to buy a 42" 1024×768 HDR TV and play games on that, instead of my 1440×900 19" monitor. So i'm curious if my 42"'s dispay will be actually less detailed compered to my 19" monitor, and if it"s only magnifying the picture. I'm so confused.
For example: My computer won't be able to show as many ikons on the desktop, on the 42"TV screen that my 19" monitor?
I connected my PC(Desktop) to my 60" plasma using HDMI on 1920x1080 at 60hz but it didn't show the whole screen, it showed letterbox on all corners. How can I fix this? I have Windows 7 RC.
to be honest... why would you want to plug a laptop into a tv... it just looks retarded lolz since uve got a screen to already watch... im pretty sure people would do this for tons of reasons to a COMPUTER and one of the reason which is kinda my reason that people dont buy screens if they have a tv that works as a monitor
I doesn't look retarded. Sure we have a screen already to use, but some of us would prefer a bigger one when the portability of the laptop is not being utilized. Don't criticize when your argument has no basis.
i cba to make a video and besides which videos are you talking about, ILLEGAL PIRATED movies... bit naughty dont you think
Also why would you wanna put YouTube on a bigger it isnt that great you have to make it big screen or is it that you are stalking the person and NEED to see their face big enough 4 u 2 kiss?
this is because its probably displaying ntsc signal from a pal sorce ie the pc display settings might be set to pal and your tv is a ntsc or vice versa so you will need to play around with the graphics card settings normaly found in the control panel on the pc if its windows you have
if its a ntsc region tv you must set the tv out on the laptop/pc to ntsc also or what ever region you have
I have a 62in tv and im using a laptop which has Windows Vista, which i orignally thought the problem was. But when i turn my computer and tv on. It shows windows loading on the tv, but once the screen comes on, on the laptop, The television says video mode isnt supported. Any ideas reply please
