This contest definitely was up their with the 2000 and 88-89. Maybe a tie with 2000 for best all time. So many 50 worthy dunks...Green made it to the 2nd round so this is irrelevant but I think that Birthday Cake dunk was a 50.

They should just get rid of the 1st round, 2nd round and just add up the total of 4 dunks from each contestant. More dunks for us and a chance for all the contestants to show their best dunks.

Another thing Dwight Howard did show last year is that a big man can win the Slam Dunk contest with some showmanship,originality,& creativity. I remember when Amare Stoudamire was in the Slam Dunk contest a few years ago-(it was either 2004 or 2005),& it was more funny that creative. He had Steve Nash use his soccer skills to throw him alley-oops with his feet & hands but it ended up looking more funny than anything. All of you people who are saying Dwight Howard's 2nd dunk isn't a dunk are simply uneducated. A dunk is a shot that the player puts in the hoop from above the hoop itself. Dwight Howard's 2nd dunk is most definitely a dunk, touching the rim isn't necessary in order for a dunk to be a dunk.

If you think about it, a dunk like Howard's 2nd is actually more difficult, the player needs a high vertical jump, a strong arm and good aim.
