@fearguis Colbert's character is most definitely conservative. I am aware it is put on. He makes fun of both sides of the political spectrum even though he is a liberal in real life, so I can respect him. Funny conservatives that aren't a fake persona: Adam Sandler, Drew Carey, Nick DiPaolo, Dennis Miller. It's important to realize that the reason for a lack of conservative comedians is that mainstream media leans a good deal left, so naturally liberal comedians have more options.

Chevy Chase isn't as powerful as he thinks he is. Remember that Ford didn't want to be president in the first place, he was pretty happy as speaker of the house. He wanted to stay a congressman. BTW, comedians tend to lean to the left anyway, not because they hate GOPs (and I am not a fan of the ones who do) but because the GOP tends to be more absurd than the Dems.

Also this vid title implies that Lorne Michael tells the writers to bash the right and that's just not true.

I am a Ron Paul type conservative that grew up watching and loving Chevy Chase. At least in this clip he admits the bias. There have been others that made him look pompous, and typical of zillionair actors. I met and talked to matt damon for a while in vegas, when they had a deal for oceans 11 at the belagio. We have a pic of my wife buzzed and all over him. Even so, on political issues I believe he too should just STFU!

There is no major TV studio or motion picture studio in America that is not almost 100% liberal. Conservative, traditional causes like the right to life and keeping crucifixes in classrooms will never be supported and are often associated with outdated morals. They're scorned upon while modern, irreligious agendas like homosexuality, sex education and abortion are looked upon as symbols of cultural progress. Hollywood and TV are the most anti-christian, liberal establishments in the world.
