This is a beautiful piece. While it's a bit repetitive, (I feel a sort of "rising climax" could be good for it, if you get my meaning, not a technical music person here, haha), it's still a nice tune. Smooth, relaxing, if used in the proper atmosphere it would help to give off either a haunting or if the name is any indication, a rather daunting feeling. For instance, Samus returns to the Federation Homeworld only to find it completely destroyed...and covered in snow..lol. Anywho, nice job!
Was this done exclusively in Logic? I'm researching music production and I'm wondering about those ambient sfx in the background. Could I trouble you for some feedback? =D
@Bateleur5 It was 100% done in Logic Studio. Every instrument and sound effect is from Logic Studio.
Logic comes with a huge bank of SFX. From kids laughing, to cars racing down a track, to pure made up effects.
Logic also comes with an array of instruments. You can record in realtime with a keyboard, or simply create them with the good ol' fashioned keyboard and mouse. I did the later, though I don't recommend it.
If you have further questions, ask away. Hope this helps. :D
@DaDude261 Thank you for the info! I don't really think I have any other questions, at least any questions that aren't technical and things I couldn't figure out in a Logic tutorial or something. I suppose I'm completely obligated to buy a Mac now, but that will really hurt in my wallet. Obviously it's worth it, though. ;)
If there was a story mode (or if there will be for that matter) i would want this to be where samus has to kill her best friend and they are not even resisting.
When are you going to get the download link on here? I want it on my computer *cries* haha all i am going to do is reverse it and see what it sounds like..
It would still sound worse than the original though.
As for &fmt=18... not sure why that is. It isn't so much of a problem anymore. It was to force videos to display in 480p, which also means high quality audio. However, it seems many videos (including this one) automatically do that now. Some of my other videos still have the problem though.
I'm going to assume that the "Edge of the World" is extremely desolate or dead, so if that is the case, this theme fits well. Still a touch repetitive, though.
if you guys like epic midi music, cjeck out my channel for some epic original video

@googletoper The quality will not be anywhere near as good as a standard hosted MP3 due to the compressor YouTube uses.

i think that would be awesome and sad.

It's a good star, but it needs a little more thought. Why is she killing her best friend? What led up to it? Etc.

@SamusvsChief
The best way to build a story is to know how it ends.

Original compositions will be uploaded at a later date. Sorry for the inconvenience.

What is it with people listening to things in reverse? >_>
DaDude261 2 years ago
You have to be like me to like things reversed.
Metroidkiller0 2 years ago
@DaDude261
PEOPLE DO THAT!?!?
They need to post it on here!
gamesmaster4ever 1 year ago
Stuff in reverse doesn't sound good. It just sounds weird.
Exception being Radiohead's Like Spinning Plates, in which the entire song was recorded in reverse.
DaDude261 1 year ago
@DaDude261
hmmm, I still think this would sound good reversed, your music would sound awsome even if a 3 year old messed it up! (Thats a good thing btw)
some of the videos dont work when I add &fmt=18 on the end. D=

It kind of feels like a mixture of Phendrana Drifts, Chozo Ruins (Hall of the Elders), and some place in Halo.
It's a very good piece of music. Great job. ^_^

Chozo hall, Phenadra, and Halo.
I heard this and said: "This sounds a bit Halo-ish" Never thought about Phenadra!

A bit repetative, but really nice and full of a mysterious atmosphere feeling to it.
