  • Let's get the economy rolling again. Get rid of the people (Coburn and the repbulicans) that brought us to this ruination. Not "unelect", get RID of in a very permanent fashion. Firing them is too nice. They are terrorists, hypocrites and murderers. NO MORE REPUBLICANS!!

  • @callouschristian you are an idiot. If you think one party is responsible for the problems in this country...then you sir/mam are a simple minded fool.

  • @callouschristian Republicans are the worst part of a bad problem. In fact they are the architectures of disaster, their activist supreme court justices who have just undermined democracy enabling republicans to steal YET another election being just ONE example. Republicans are terrorists on the American People. PERIOD!

  • THANK YOU! from our hearts in Honduras and in the name of the people that don't have internet in my country but suffered all this crisis..THANK YOU for defending the TRUTH in my country! Thank you for defending democracy in the world and freedom in our country! we kicked some communist butt our of my country for good! and chavez now knows that he can't go further up!! Honduras and USA have always beedn friends, thank u 4 remembering that...!!

  • HKHMM

  • Oklahoma is a great state and that's the truth! Sen. Coburn hit the nail on the head, and I'm glad we have senators like him who will speak the truth like this. America should have never supported Zelaya.

  • Honduras did the right thing by getting rid of that communist

  • Oh, if America could only do the same ;)

  • @jeffhulsey16 amen

  • Cobin spoke out for his friend when he w3as barting for his friend having an affair.. There is no justification for this..

  • ridiculo, segui masturbandote con las noticias de esdras mentiroso lopez y piquito el vendido maldonado,

  • People of Honduras, Resist! You decide in your country, not Gorichaves, Goribama or Gorilula. THE PRESIDENT FOR LIFE CLUB formed by Chaves, Morales, Correia, Ortega and others would love to have honduras as the new member of this deadly club with Zelaya. NO PASSARAN!

  • well you one person to have total power, in other world you want tyrany.

  • it isn't just about Honduras

  • Dr Tom Coburn = defender of Liberty and Freedom for Americans and Latin America

  • Thank you very much Senator Coburn. I'm hoduran and I still have family in my native country. What you are saying is absolutely true. Our people in Honduras do not have access to international news and most of our people doesn't know what is really going on. Let me tell you that at this very moment there is a huge invasion of Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Cubans and Colombians. They are the perpetrators of all the caos that you see on TV every day. Please help us to get our Honduras back!!!!!

  • I'm From Honduras and all you are taking about is truth.,

  • Great job keep defending democracy around the world.

  • thank you senator, i am a u.s. citizen but I was born in Honduras. It makes me believe that there's still democratic people in the u.s. government despite us having a communist "socialist" president in charge. Why people doesn't want to understand that 90% of hondurans don't want this Chavez clone in our presidency, zelaya was trying to emulate what chavez did with venezuela, that's why Chavez threatned to invade honduras to save his communist pal.

  • lol guys those of you who think he is telling the truth, research this, what he says is not true

  • Lo que no sabe este gringuito es que en esos paises se pasan la constitucion por las nalgas todos los dias el congreso, diputados, alcaldes presidentes, militares y todos. Viva Mel Zelaya !!!

  • you're the man, you know the true nathing but the true, thanks for waking up the other people

  • The Dr. of Truth talking about the rule of law. For you obuminites, that's L-A-W. Was that slow enough?

  • Well done Senator Tom Coburn, You made me proud!

  • WOW- A USA Politician that has his facts right- amazing

Mr. Coburn I will remember your name- forgive me- calling you a Politician. Perhaps you are a Statesman

  • of course Obama supports the reinstatement. Obama faces the same out come.

  • As a Honduran citizen and liberal democrat; I just CAN NOT believe that the republicans of the US are the ones actually getting things right and supporting our ouster of ex-president Zelaya. It astounds me and mesmerizes me. Its sad to see such a great nation being led by such an unintelligent cabinet as the Obama administration: hopefully the democrats will do a better job the next time around in nominating someone with higher and levelheaded reasoning capabilities.

  • You know what? Fuck you ok. Obama is a much more capable President than those racist golpista criminals. Remember they called our President "a little nigger who doesn't even know where Honduras is"?

How can you even side with the golpistas? Are you blind?

  • Who the fuck called him that? I was in Honduras when Obama won the elections, and guess what, Honduras loves Obama. The U.S is receiving false information. And idiots like you, aren't helping.

  • A minister who was appointed by Goriletti.

If you don't know go look it up. I'm not your fucking teacher.

  • Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize a single person could speak for the entire fucking country...

Do you shit out of your mouth? Because you sure do speak out of your ass.

  • I never said he spoke for the entire country. It just shows the low capacity and intellect levels of the golpista govt that has taken over Honduras. Besides no one will ever recognize that govt especially with Micheletti's criminal threats such as threatening Obama that more drugs will be sent to USA. They're a bunch of criminals

  • I wasn't arguing for Micheletti's government. You very clearly implied that Honduras didn't deserve help from the US, because of those comments. Claiming that all Hondurans love Micheletti in power, is wrong. I' m pro-coup, but I don't believe Micheletti is capable of running the country. But guess what, elections are coming up...

Oh and, are you not aware Mel is a criminal too?

  • If Mel is a criminal so is Alvaro Uribe. Those elections don't mean anything. They will be nullified. President Obama and the European Union have stated they will not recognize the results UNLESS Zelaya is reinstated. Mel did not committ any crime by ordering a plebiscite (a non binding poll). Of course it was a wrong move on his part but coups are wrong. They take power away from the people and pose a HUGE THREAT to other fragile democracies such as El Salvador and Guatemala.

  • Hav eyou ever read the honduran constitution? I believe not...he DID commit a crime. ARTICULO 42.- La calidad de ciudadano se pierde: Por incitar, promover o apoyar el continuismo o la reelección del Presidente de la República;

  • y el ARTICULO 48 prohíbe a los partidos políticos atentar contra el sistema republicano, democrático y representativo de gobierno. Tambien el primer articulo 1 promueve la libertad de los Hondurenos. Zelaya's crime is ambigious and open to debate but Micheletti's coup is not ambigious since it deprived Hondurans of their democracy and has abridged fundamental freedoms such as speech and of the press.

  • Thank you Senator Coburn for say the world the true about Honduras. Our people believe in democracy, please help us always. We DON´T want Chavez in Honduras.

  • Thank you Senator Coburn for letting the world know the truth. My country's people believe in democracy and will stand firm aside our nation. And to all the Chavistas of the world, please buy Honduran "Huevos" Eggs in order to get the COJONES to fight for peace, freedom and the democracy we love. J.Castro

  • Coburn I think Sen. Ensign wants you to give his lover some money.

Don't talk about things which are above your mental capacity. Sen. Coburn you need to remember that Honduran law does not state a coup as a legal means of removal from power of the President.

  • yours is not the mind of reason or logic

yours is a mind of passion for communism. you are a sick warped fuck

  • Not even homeboy!

I'm not a communist but I do sympathize with socialists. So what if I am a Socialist? Whats wrong with that?

  • fucking gringos main ur ouw bussines

  • hahaha ok loca vos saves que

estoy relajado no te me estreses

    trankila cocodrila!!!!

  • funny, Coburn is a member of a fascist sect which has supported dictators and mass murderers numerous times but has a problem with a referendum by a democratic elected president.

  • the people of hounduras have spoken.

they get the last word, not you.

  • who? The Honduran military you mean?

  • i like this guy

  • I thought it was telling when Jim DeMint in this clip say that he have lots of friends in Honduras. Is it in the military, business, political elite or the some poor people. I am Prepare to bet my life savings on ladbrooks speculation game. This is not to respect democracy, but to crush it for the political content of for some eyes are objectionable.

  • In Honduras was ready in 12 hours. Why are some TV channels and media occupied by the military today? This is similar to the coup in Venezuela.

  • I thought it was telling when Micheletti said Zelaya could return if the business elites would allow it - not the Honduran people. These elites call the shots. When private interests hold the power beside the army, that's a recipe for fascism. Look at Indonesia. You say the military is loyal to the constitution. But if it were more loyal to Micheletti than the consitution, what would stop it? It's a perfect recipe for a deficit of democracy when private interest and the army hold power.

  • Against the people of honduras? Is he the man who von presidential elections in a free and democratic right choice? that he was abducted just shortly before the opunions study would be held, it has nothing to do with the fact that some felt that the huge mass had it better under his presidency would give a result that establish decentralized arrangement did not like? El Salvador elected president, and it took weeks as it usually do to develop ministers.

  • On the other hand, there's no constitution in the world that allows the congress to remove a democratic elected president through military action. If that would be the case, trust me in this one, the USA would be the first constitution to have it.

  • I still cant undertand why this asshole keeps saying: "Dictador Hugo Chavez", if Mr. Chavez (like it or not) had won 10 elections and lost 1.

  • Why the guys who is ill can not shut his mic. It's annoying to hear his "sound" every few seconds.

  • THIS IS THE ONLY GUY IS RIGHT I LIKE THAT

  • How can Obama and Clinton get in front of a Camera and call the FIRING OF ZELAYA a coup? How can they call for CONSTIUTIONAL ORDER when that is what happened? Oooooops my bad-their both Lawyers!

  • Looks like Zelaya, Obama and Chavez are worried after seeing Zelaya has such little public support in Honduras, I SUGGEST THEY BRING THEIR CASE TO THE USA SUPREME COURT IF THEY HAVE ONE!

  • Madmanatsea: Zelaya had a 46% approval rating, which is considerably more than George W. Bush had when he was president.

  • He did not had a 46% approval rating, that is not true, he had the lowest ever approval rating just two days before his "referendum"

Amauru, there is also no constitution in the world that allows a president to disregard a sentence from the supreme court, or disregard a vote of congress to stop something illegal or that allows a president to act in ways contrary to the constitution itself.

Congress and the Supreme Court did their job and the military complied with them.

  • Oh, and let's recount just a couple (a full recount is just too much of a hassle) of YOUR lies/misinformations: you posted here that cesar ham was DEAD, killed by the "military dictatorship", and that patricia rodas was "kidnapped", BOTH FALSE. Then you went on to "quote" some WRONG numbers from a CID-Gallup poll placing zelaya with more support than he has... WHO THEN IS SPREADING LIES? YOUR compost pile GETS BIGGER AND BIGGER, HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • Catsmart: Not lies but confusion resulting from the chaotic military takeover of your country. When public media are suppressed, rumors can get reported as facts. You applaud an ideologically motivated clampdown of basic press freedoms if it claims to be anti-communist. Oh, and I know you'll scream in UPPER CASE letters how these journalists are all subversives or some such trash. But that's cos your a political extremist. Hey, when you shipping out , tough guy? Written to Mr. Hoya yet?

  • Mr. Zelaya, did far more that Richard Nixon to be impeached. Would you call Nixon Impeachment a coup by congress?

  • Zelaya & Nixon! What a hilarious comparison.

  • Enlighten me please, you who knows so much, what is wrong with the comparison!

  • Cubano: There's nothing wrong with the comparison in that Nixon and Zelaya both have a social conscience. Impeachment of Nixon did not involve the US army. Removal of head of state by the army, whether legal or not is a COUP. Argument to contrary is a semantic waste of time and plays into the hands of Micheletti and his gang who are trying so hard to seem legit to the rest of the world.

  • The military in the USA did not removed Nixon because he left by himself after the impeachment but had he decided to stay, congress would have ordered the military to remove him by force. The military here swears to uphold the constitution, not the president. In Honduras Zelaya was in violation of the constitution, aligning himself to do that with foreign governments and in agreement with the constitution, congress and the supreme court ordered the military to remove him. All of that legal.

  • HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Boy, are you the one to tell ANYONE what to do. You can't even justify your views/positions, BUT you wish to impose YOUR ideological views on a PROUD but defenseless nation that has JUSTLY AND LEGALLY ousted a corrupt and incompetent aspiring dictator through its rule of law. YOU wish for Honduras what NOT EVEN YOU want for your own coutry, surely you are a brave example to follow... HA HA HA HA KEEP IT COMING DUDE, your compost pile just KEEPS ON GROWING, HA HA HA HA HA!!!

  • Catsmart: Far from finger-pointing I was suggesting you man-up, step up to the plate and get actively involved in what you claim to believe in. Spouting lies, regurgitating and hyperventilating upper case trash on this website is no way to defend your country from the red menace.

  • Catsmart: Why not send Mr. Hoya an e-mail and volunteer your services as a 'national security official'? You'd be far more effective that way. Mouthing off over the web when there are communists threatening your survival is not the manly thing to do. Time to ship out, soldier!

  • Zelaya published an executive decree # PCM-020-2009 to reform the constitution. The constitution has 379 Articles in total 8 of those cant be changed. Fact. Art 239 automatically fired Zelaya as president. Whoever violates this law or proposes its reform, will immediately cease in their functions Intent and immediately as in instant, as in no trial required. Fact. Art 242 shows the succession line. When Mr. Zelaya was sent to Costa Rica he was no longer the president of Honduras. VIVA HONDURAS

  • Article241 El Presidente CANNOT LEAVE THE COUNTRY for more than 15 days without getting permission from CONGRESS....hhhhmmmmmm This seems like if you're going on a vacation from work, you gotta GET PERMISSION from your employer-El Presidente IS SUBSERVIANT TO CONGRESS! THIS IS JUST LIKE THE USA: CONGRESS HAS THE POWER BECAUSE CONGRESS IS MADE UP OF OUR REPRESENTATIVES! THESE PEOPLE IN USA DON'T VOTE FOR PRESIDENT-THEIR REPRESENTATIVE DOES, 270 VOTES AND YOU'RE PRESIDENT! NO REFERENDUM! WHY?

  • Anyone interested in realities, not communist utopian lies, can go to noticierodigital period com and search "Terrible situación ocurrida en La Concepción Palacios", there you will SEE FOR YOURSELVES the realities of "socialist" Venezuela, women in childbirth being denied medical attention in the nation's MOST IMPORTANT public neonatal facility for lack of resources. Where's the money? OH, getting zelaya back to power so he can DO THE SAME, MAKE A MESS OF HIS COUNTRY ON ACCOUNT OF "SOCIALISM"

  • Oh, and by the way, the reporting media of that video, Globovision, is trheatened with closure by the chavez regime, for WHAT? For saying thuths about the regime... He ALREADY closed one mayor national television network, RCTV, stealing their transmission equipment to open a "robolutionary" one, THAT NOBODY SEES. Now he's going for others, 40% of the radio spectrum will be taken away from private hands to be awarded to pro-chavez stations, that once again practically NOBODY WILL HEAR.

  • Catsmart: Why don't you give your mouth, (not to mention your caps lock key) a rest, stop hyperventilating on this website, extinguish whatever funny stuff you're smoking, and join up witth some of your old battalion 316 death squad compadres? Fernando 'Billy' Hoya is a personal hero of yours I presume and now he's ridin' high and back in favor. His admirable qualities include a talent for torture and 'counter-insurgency', which as you know, means cold-blooded murder. Why don't you volunteer?

  • And WHAT'S IT TO YOU THAT YOU GET SO ANGSTY? Is YOUR paycheck being affected by my responses? It would seem so, given your bouts of paroxistical "extreme right wing" finger pointing. I'm sorry, DUDE, that communism is SO HARD to defend that you have to stoop SO LOW...

  • Seen on a sign of one of the many tens of thousands of participants in the rally in favor of democracy and against the return of cowboy commander zelaya (as he was known there):

    "Cowboy hat $1,200

    Cowboy boots $2,000

    Motorcycle $35,000

    Horse $100,000

    Honduran Constitution PRICELESS"

One can not but agree... Hope he gets back in, SO HE CAN BE PUT IN JAIL AND BE DONE WITH ONCE AND FOR ALL.

  • So, FINALLY you admit that chavez is in it for the money/power advantage/drug route commissions/whatever BUT NOT FOR HONDURAS' GOOD, and chavez's monkey is zelaya, SO NO GOOD FOR HONDURAS EITHER. ¿"PAN SOUTH AMERICAN TRADE" BETWEEN COMMUNIST CONTROLLED COUNTRIES? HA HA HA HA You out perform yourself with each post. PRECISELY "consolidation and domination" of the WHOLE REGION is what castro-chavez-communism is after, AND PRECISELY to make it "NOT A FREE SYSTEM". ARE YOU FOR REAL, DUDE?

  • The arrest and indefinite detention of Nicaraguan nationals has also been reported in Honduras. This indicates just how paranoid the coup government is. While the media scapegoat Venezuela ad infinitum, the coup regime remains a fragile coalition, under siege and immense pressure internationally. Let's send the dirty war criminals back into exile and end this madness.

  • "Let's send the dirty war criminals back into exile and end this madness." HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAA ROFLMFAO Boy, you are HILARIOUS. Your hero, zelaya, walked to a border post, talked on the phone to ask to be let in, waited there for 8 hours, and then WENT BACK tail between legs to plan the circus for the coming days. Boy, what an anticlimax...

  • Oh, and by the way, "media scapegoat" Venezuelan foreign relations minister maduro was with him in the car that intended to "heroically" cross the border... What was "scapegoat" maduro doing there? Why does chavez EVERY SINGLE DAY since the ousting of the unconstitutional zelaya FURIOUSLY speaks, reacts, and finances the return of zelaya? WHAT'S IN IT FOR HIM? Boy that drug rout must have been REALLY SOMETHING...

  • Catsmart: Well, what is in it for Chavez is the same advantage that fascist dictatorships hold for the United States - good for business. You seem unable to grasp the economic advantages of pan South American trade, preferring instead the militarily enforced corporate socialism of a Washington consensus. With the US financial system in ruins, perhaps you should read some Marx (HA HA) or conceed the fact that consolidation and domination of a marketplace is not a free system. Not a radical idea.

  • More information is coming out about just how dirty this coup is, notably from international observers who have heard about systemic political intimidation, political assassinations and abductions. Dirty war criminals like Battalion 316 veteran Fernando Hoya, are also coming out of the woodwork. Let's hope Zelaya can get back into his country and sort this mess out.

  • YEAH, RIGHT! "sort this mess out" meaning reimpose communist control and reinstate the BOLIVARIAN drug route through Honduras, that'll set the mess straight on its tracks... TO AN EVEN GREATER MESS! Believing zelaya can "sort" the mess HE created is like expecting that the same dog that pooped on your living room carpet clean up his own mess.

  • Anybody REALLY interested in knowing a little piece of the truth should go to newsweek period com and search for an article titled "The Bolivarian Brain Drain". The article falls short of the full truth in many aspects, but it nevertheless paints quite an eerily truthful though grim picture of the "achievements" of the rob-olution (not rev, ROB as in THEFT, PILLAGE AND PLUNDER)... Hondurans were falling under the "bolivarian" curse, but they snapped out of it by ousting zelaya, GOOD FOR THEM!

  • Catsmart: You're on very dodgy ground with 'conditions not improving one iota'. Fanatical ideology such as yours can't abide political complexity. Despising Adolf Hitler while conceding he reduced unemployment, for example, would doubtless elicit accusations of Nazi! from the simple-minded.

  • I have PERSONALLY experienced the difference between the BEFORE AND AFTER these despots. Trying to split straws with these regimes is pointless. Corruption is MUCH WORSE, violence is MUCH WORSE, human rights are trodden left, right and center, the judicial, electoral, legislative powers are under TOTAL CONTROL of the despots or their party. Economical conditions, inflation, etc. MUCH MUCH WORSE. If you don't see or know this then DISCUSSION WITH YOU IS POINTLESS.

  • And what is HILARIOUS is that they JUSTIFY it all under the supposed superiority of THEIR IDEOLOGY. What's good about any regime or ideology that worsens conditions FOR EVERYBODY, not just the "rich"? The only ones that have MARKEDLY IMPROVED their socio/economical/quality of life status are the government officials which have become filthy rich through corruption. The poverty stricken ARE EITHER MUCH WORSE THAN BEFORE, OR THE SAME AS BEFORE IN THE BEST OF CASES..

  • We are talking HONDURAS here, and THERE the problem is NEOCOMMUNIST zelaya, chavez, castro, morales, correa, ortega, trying to PROVOKE a hard left wing regime on a country THAT DOESN'T WANT IT for their own power grabbing and maintaining schemes. NONE of those neodictators has improved the conditions in their countries by ONE IOTA with their WRONG ideology. THAT IS THE POINT. Wanting to change the TOPIC just goes to show HOW OUT OF ARGUMENTS YOU ARE.

  • Catsmart: Yawn. There you go again. Context is everything. That was my point. Not understanding context, and perceiving thru narrow ideological lens is self defeating.

  • Hitler also disapproved of smoking, which by fanatical logic we should wholeheartedly approve of simply because he was against it. Maintaining a politically polarized mind-set may be comfortable for you but it isn't very mature, smart, or flexible. If the guys you are talking about are monsters, demons, barely human, then rational discussion is impossible

  • HA HA HA exactly your position against the current civil, and legal government of Honduras, FANATICAL AND NONSENSICAL. SO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

  • Buying into these old cold war fears and prejudices only narrows the narrative to an east/west, good/evil, with-us-or-against-us, with-us-or-youre-a-red mentality. Id like to say this narrative is an anachronism but Bush forced it on us very successfully for a while.

  • The wider issue of the strains and the inadequacies of the global economy, ecological limitations and the hazards of over population are realities that put governments, even whole systems of government under pressure.

  • Id like to see an enlightened approach to these global problems. Red-under-the-bed hysterics undermine rational approaches to the serious challenges the human population will face in the 21st century.

  • Talk about condemnation, HA HA HA. And YOU don't support elections in Honduras. YOU just want the castro-chavez loving dictator to return to impose a communist regime to bring "equality" (everybody living in misery), "justice" (everybody has the "just" right to accept the regime, its ideology and be deprived of ALL property), and "fraternity" (everybody must equally "love" the red leader, the party, and their own misery), WITHOUT ANY ifs ands or buts. YEAH, RIGHT, YOU'RE THE DEMOCRATIC ONE HERE!

  • Catsmart: You despise all dictatorships but some dictatorships are better than others? The more you talk, the more you condemn yourself. I wonder what kind of dictatorships are preferable to communist ones. Fascist ones are great at keeping the reds away. Perhaps they are more amenable to you? You've already admitted that military curfews suit your - ahem - lifestyle. The fascists can keep the streets clear of 'anarchist scum', remove left -leaning undesirables. How well you would sleep.

  • YET ANOTHER CASTRO-COMMUNIST LIAR DEBUNKED-> AP Newsbreak: Rebel video hounds Ecuador's Correa

By FRANK BAJAK, Fri Jul 17, 6:42 pm ET

BOGOTA An hour-long video police found in a computer of an alleged rebel appears to confirm that Colombia's largest rebel army (farc) gave money to the 2006 election campaign of President Rafael Correa of Ecuador.

That's why we kicked his fucking ass off.

  • Si, solo los Hondureños, Venezolanos, Bolivianos, Nicaraguenses, Ecuatorianos, y Cubanos con dos dedos de frente entendemos lo NEFASTOS QUE SON ESTOS NEODICTADORES COMUNISTOIDES.

  • Gallup poll: 46% of Hondurans support Zelaya. 30% support Micheletti.

  • Lies, damm lies, and statistics, not that you would know the difference... Computers and material intended for the unconstitutional zelaya poll have been found and already cooked results were there to be used at will as legal "results" for the ex-"non binding" decreed "very binding" poll. SURPRISE, 450 out of 480 would have been affirmative. A very "precognitive" poll that would have been, HA HA HA HA. YOU ARE A JOKE, DUDE. But keep at it, you make me laugh, letrine head....

  • Oh, and by the way, the REAL NUMBERS ot the CID-Gallup poll, ACTUALLY say 41% believe his actions merited his removal, 28% didn't, and 31% didn't answer. On ANOTHER question 41% approved of THE WAY he was ousted, 46% DIDN'T, 13% no answer. SO YOU JUST POSTED FALSE NUMBERS, probably from some far left wing squawk box you like to peruse... Keep up the compost, DUDE! HA HA HA

  • Actually only 28% Zelaya. The majority of Hondurans supported his ousting.

  • Starmanskye: Yup, it doesn't matter if you're a nasty dictator who boils opponents in oil. If you've got the money, you'll always find a friend on Capitol Hill. These lobbyists would happily do PR for the Third Reich if the price was right. In fact, I think they did. Ken Silverstein did an excellent expose of this dirty business for Harper's Magazine.

  • The reference of "nasty dictator who boils opponents in oil" fits chavez like a glove, by the way... No wonder obama re-exchanged ambassadors with the Venezuelan regime, and currently sides with this dictator against the enforcement of democracy in Honduras... Its all about the money, which chavez steals by the oil tanker load...

  • Catsmart: Follow the money, ditto head. You may not have gotten your last paycheck - (my heart bleeds for you) - but someone is handing over a lot of Honduran cash to Washington lobbyists. Do you actually work for a living, or is spouting crap on the internet your main source of renumeration? I'll pay you to clean my latrine if you need extra cash, but I fear no amount of scrubbing will erase the stain in your soul or deodorize the sewage in your mouth.

  • Venezuelan government can OUTSPEND Honduras probably 100 to 1, SO, following the money AND LOGIC (too much to ask of you) , Washington reacts to Venezuelan concerns when it condemns the ousting of an unconstitutional liar, fraud and thief. And you just wasted a post on insult. Where's YOUR sophistication? Probably composting with the rest of your intellectual faculties I presume... As I commented previously, never seen, read, heard or met a "sophisticated" communist, you're no exception...

  • All these people posting enthusiastic praise for Coburn's support are succumbing to a very clever multi-million dollar PR campaign the Micheletti faction invested in to put the proper 'spin' on their wresting people-led democracy away from those who challenge their franchise on wealth & power. They don't even suspect they're being conned -- while many are likely paid comments. So many outright lies & distortions & superficial grasp of America's heavy-handed interference & continuing influence.

  • Yeah, RIGHT, the multibillionaire Honduran nation can surely afford such an expense. OH, and if anybody's paying, I haven gotten my last paycheck. Now, Venezuelan oil money IS PAYING LEFTISTS ALL OVER the american continent. Ask Argentina, they caught a shipment of dollars from chavez due for the presidential campaign of the kirchners, the case went to trial in the US. The handouts and intervention of chavez in other countries have been notorious and plentiful, all seeking political goals.

  • Jerry Dixon's mother was threatened after Dixon spoke on CNN. Nice to see the Honduran military doing what they do best - harrassing old ladies. Isn't it true the word 'coup' is completely banned in Honduras right now? Who cares about freedom of speech? At least the commie Zelaya has gone!

  • So, EXACTLY like YOU respond, WHAT IS YOUR SOURCE? HOW DO YOU KNOW IT WAS THE HONDURAN MILITARY? YOU ARE JUST SPECULATING, BLAH BLAH BLAH And YES, thank GOD that zelaya has gone, FOR GOOD. See you in hell, Mel... HA HA HA

  • Catsmart: Who are you? Huh? I have to laugh at how you always draw attention to 'insults' directed at you when they seem to fly out of you like so much flatulence. I'm also amused at how quick you are to apply the communist label with a vitriol that seems ideological and fanatical. Sane people despise dictatorships, whether they be communist or otherwise. It's clear where you stand, especially with your chilling statement that the November election will be 'taken care of'. Very chilling indeed.

  • Communism DOESN'T WORK, never has AND NEVER WILL, that's no secret. These regimes ACTUALLY PUBLICLY ADMIT to favoring communist ideas and ideology, so NO SECRET THERE EITHER. Where's the "vitriol"? Hard leftists like YOU on the other hand can't make a REAL case for their ideology, nor for ther "intellectuals", once the FACTS are laid out. I despise all dictatorships, but CASTRO-COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIPS ARE THE BOTTOM OF THE LETRINE. So, YOU don't want elections in Honduras? EVEN MORE CHILLING

  • Ramon Garcia: Murdered.

  • It is VERY COMMON for communists to kill their own for political reasons. Cases abound, just look at cuba (or russia or china, or you name it left wing regime) for hundreds, if not thousands of cases. The names of lenin, che, camilo cienfuegos, etc. etc. This case has not been solved, so just mentioning it MEANS OR PROVES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

  • Catsmart: Demonizing one form of dictatorship while elevating or ignoring another is embarrassing.

  • Honduras was ON THE WAY to becoming a communist dictatorship under zelaya's reign. THANK GOD they kicked him out. Elections on november will take care of the rest of the allegations of "military coup". While true that many Hondurans don't like NEITHER zelaya nor micheletti, THAT WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF ON NOVEMBER. SO chavez-castro, LEAVE HONDURAS ALONE.

  • thank you, thank you!

that was very well said Senator.

    my respects to you.

  • YET... the fact still remains : Balance of Power dictated that as the Constitutional Laws were applied, President Zelaya was in violation of such Law and therefore deemed unconstitutional. Forget the fact that his associations were with extremist ( and hypocrits ) such as Chavez ( golpista ) and Castro ( dictator ) . You see, we grow up with this phrase in mind every day : "Honduras is a Free, Sovereign and Independent Country" . We carry this in us and we are watchful .

  • jmolina: A country that allows it's army to be trained and armed by a foreign power, allows it's constitution to be drafted with the approval of that foreign power and allows for easy overthrow of an elected president thru susceptibility to military coup...These things hardly qualify country as free, sovereign and independent.

  • Kubark123: I respectfuly disagree. We are free to choose our allies ( I think it is a right of every country ) and do not let anyone dictate our Constitution .Even if the whole world in their shortsighted approach to OUR issues has judge against what 80% of the population cries out. We do not want a Socialist nor Communist Regime in OUR country.

  • Jmolina: Agreed. However, what the Honduran elites did was to equate a National Constituent Assembly with communism, claiming that it was a move towards a plebiscitary tyranny. The 1982 constitution excludes vast swathes of the populace from political participation. This is reason enough to re-write it, not to force thru unlimited presidential terms.

  • Comment removed

  • Jmolina: You are right that no one has the right to dictate your constitution. Who then oversaw the drafting of the 1982 constitution? Was it not drawn up in the context of U.S. foreign policy of the 1980s?

  • "The Honduran constitution drafted in 1982 does not provide for impeachment of the president. That possibility was eliminated in a 2002 constitutional reform, along with the guarantee of immunity from prosecution. " from IPS News

  • The constitution also has a series of articles set in stone, such as the ones on "reform and inviolability of the constitution", and others referring to questions like the form of government, national territory and a total ban on presidential reelection.

The constitution has its own built-in armour to protect it. " From IPS News

  • Article 375 states that the document does not lose its validity even when it has been supposedly revoked or modified by any means or procedure other than those provided for by the constitution itself. In such cases, any citizen, with or without political authority, has the duty to help maintain or restore respect for the constitution, the article adds. Not that it cannot be ammended, in fact it has been ammended dozens of times" from IPS News

  • Go to jueventud. co . cu slash internation slash 2009-07-10 slash patricia-rodas-we-insist-on-zelaya reinstatement slash you will find the information that will prove you wrong regarding patricia rodas being kidnapped and please stop misinforming people, and about cesar ham HE IS alive and he has contacted many news channels.

  • " Us, congressmen, elected by the sovereign will of Honduran people, meeting today in National Assembly, invoking the protection of God and the example of our founding fathers, with our faith placed in the restauration of the centroamerican union and faithfully interpreting the aspirations of the people who gave us their mandate, we hereby decrete and sanction the following Constitution so that it will fortify and perpetuate a state of laws."

  • I really don't know if you had a lobotomy recently or you simply live in a cave and don't watch any news, but here are a couple of international news showing how patricia rodas was taken to Mexico after ex president zelaya was ousted, she is currently in Managua with his boyfriend, I mean with Ex president Zelaya.

  • after the first slash is internation not internation

  • Stop press! Ceasar Ham is ALIVE!!!??? He wasn't murdered while 'resisting arrest'??? Can't wait to see how this story plays out. Happy to be proved wrong if he really is alive.

  • Yes, he's alive and kicking. ONE MORE LIE of the leftists proven wrong in this whole Honduran mess they have created, and magnified to the nth power. The same guy who lied through his teeth by CATEGORICALLY DENYING he had NEVER IN HIS LIFE used his congress prerogative to import luxury vehicles, but an Audi Q7 and a Toyota Land Cruiser were proven to have been imported by him. THIS SLEAZEBAG probably spread the version that he had been killed...

  • Yes, funny how rumors fly during military takeovers, especially when half the media have been shut down.

  • Even more when they are spread by the same person that is supposed to be DEAD and then magnified by the well oiled left wing propaganda / squealing machinery. Another of the lies was the alleged dead during the rally in support of zelaya's "flyback", whoever saw telesur (chavez news channel) would think that it had been a mindless massacre when in reality there was ONE dead, and he was killed by someone other than police or military. chavez's plan was to provoke MANY deaths there, didn't work...

  • Catsmart: Hello again. I see you crawled out of the woodwork to share your insightful intellect with us once more. You are suggesting that Ham spread the rumors of his own death? Can you provide evidence of this? Would you like to see Telesur shut down and all left leaning media banned? You actually watch Telesur or did you just hear about this?

  • Bigdogdone and kubark123 need to do more research- not watch MSNBC or FOX, do research. Bigdog, Zelaya wanted that poll in June & ordered the military to stage the polling places. The Army commander realized that violates the Honduran Constitution(ratified 1982) and refused. He was fired. Supreme Court backed him and told Zelaya to reinstate him. BTW kubark, you could bother to notice that the majority of Zelaya's own party rejected him & appointed the current president, who can't run in Nov.

  • You might research the reason why Zelaya has so many political opponents in Congress. Given that the U.S. has supported every fascist dictatorship since WWII, perhaps a source other than cheerleading Fox might serve you better.

  • If you live in Honduras then you know that the President was planning to act on the 'poll' immediately and create a constitutional assembly, thereby dissolving congress and the supreme court. Note that this was not a vote, just a poll carried out and to be counted by by the ex-president's people - not the electoral tribunal. What happened that Sunday saved our democracy and believe me, we don't wan't him nor Chavez back.

  • BRAVO!

  • Senator Coburn thank you for speaking up for my country Honduras. May God bless you, and I pray that President Obama would only listen.

  • Two politicians have been assassinated and a crackdown has begun on media and on journalists. Obviously the Honduran constitution doesn't protect freedom of speech too well.

  • Again I cannot believe how people can talk without even knowing, PLEASE I BEG YOU to tell me the names of those two politicians that were brutally murdered as you claim. I BEG YOU!!!! Our constitution has an entire section protecting our personal freedoms. So please if you're not gonna talk out of knowledge, PLEASE don't talk, otherwise someone talking out of knowledge will shut you up, and will be embarassing.

  • More explicitly a specific KIND of participation. The kind where the majority gets to vote themselves away the rights of others because they are coveteous of other people's stuff.

Amendments like these were put in place to help potty-train the more irresponsible members of society so we would need the CIA to go down their with a Pampers 12-pack of regimes from time to time, to help change regimes that had soiled themselves with socialism.

  • exactly that's my point the DEA authenticated that the hard drive had not been tampered with..hence the information exposing the wannabe dictator for live Hugo Chavez Frias who was conspiring with an illegal terrorist Marxist guerrilla to overthrow a legitimate elected government Colombia WAS TRUE

  • Coburn is a stooge for thugs whose power & wealth is based on neoliberal 'free trade' that exploits & impoverishes the majority of people. Coburn repeats the BS claim re: Zelaya's dictator intentions. His argument conveniently justifies rule of law only on HIS terms. Like all rightwing toadies, he undermines authentic democracy because it threatens elite privelege. He slams supposed Venezuelan interference while ignoring ongoing, endemic coercion via US assistance, military links, aid & trade.

  • starmanskye: Your political insight, spelling and sentence structure, are a little out of place here, I'm afraid.

  • I meant my prior comments to Starmanskye..I just realized that

    I appoligized

  • First its not a supposed interference from Venezuela its a fact he did throw money in Peru's presidential elections, the computers that were caught by the Colombian Army in Ecuador who knowingly allowed the narco marxist gerrilas in their territory were scrutinized by 3 computer experts from the DEA , so the information was authenticated

Chavez according to those computers gave more than 400,000 to that gerrila.

  • The DEA is such an honorable and trustworthy organization with no ulterior motive.

  • Chavez has closed down 2 TV station in Venezuela in more than 200 radio station in the last 2 months .he confiscate public property and has completely corrupt the democratic system in Venezuela ,
