i think i know y ford is the best selling truck every year bc they break down and the people who own them are to dumb to buy a dodge and they just buy another ford and the cicle repeats
@nilesbaseball My family has been a ford customer for years and I have yet to have anything fail. Good job at making a biased opinionated generalization without facts. I've owned Dodge, Jeep, Ford, Mazda... all of em fine vehicles. Where's your facts? Where some unlucky tool broke their truck driving like a dumbass? The majority of vehicle failures are caused by operator error. And that's a fact.
@mediarocker543 really my family and friends have owned alot of brands also and every ford has died and every dodge is still runnin strong. most are driving dodges now because there other brand died or they traded it in.
@moparhemi4261, Variables is all I have to say. There are so many variables to figure before someone makes a generalization about any brand. My family has never had a single vehicle die on them. EVER. It's call maintenance. Oldsmobile, Vauxhall, Opel, Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Jeep, Mazda, Nissan. We've owned them all and none of them have ever failed on us.
But where this is true Fords PowerStroke diesel is based off of the international Navistar semi engine that has been proving itself since the '70's and GM's old diesel the proven 6.2 liter was chosen by the armed service over any of the rest but the Duramax is made by the Japanese Isuzu motor company making it the only diesel in an "American" truck not made in America and i have driven all three and yes from a professional standpoint i would choose a Cummins powered Dodge over any of the rest.
i love the petty people arguing over trucks yes I believe dodge is the best they having proving themselves for years with the HEMI engine the '69 Charger Daytona (that by the way was forced to leave NASCAR) and yes the Cummins engine has over 90yrs of proven excellence in multiple fields.
@1waffleiron lmao are you that dumb yes thats a power wagon they have been making them for a few years now. your on the inter net look them up and thanx for the laugh

@7150285 Yes. The model 2500 & 3500 are Cummins in the HD model types; yet the Power wagon is sold only in the Hemi engine type model for now. I know... it sucks lemons. Kidding! It is a wonderful engine; but I was told by Ram that the Cummins would be just too heavy of a block engine for this configuration type.
Lets see what new engines Ram is yet to release. I hear talks of a 5.9 Diesel and a 4.5 coming soon to the market. PickUpTrucks confirms this to be the case...
@7150285 That is news to me. If this is right I would not own one simply because the cummins would tear through the lockers and maybe even the differential system without a major upgrade in parts throughout the Power Wagon.
I would be the first to buy one. Although, the entire Rig would need a major over-hall to handle the torque output of the cummins and the weight of this engine. As you are aware, the cummins is a tractor motor adapted for use in HD application, such as the Ram 2500- 3500.
@7150285 The Power Wagon will need this frame change, (Over-all) to handle this real world torque coupled with the capabilities of the Power Wagon. I am sure that Ram will answer this 'Call of the Wild' within the next few months.
Note: Purchasing the Power Wagon, with the current set-up, and installing a cummins engine under its hood without the upgrades could get pricy. If you know what I mean...) -Better off to wait until Ram makes the official announcement after its independent testing.
@Aonexia haha.....got 1 more question: what the heck does the HD stands for in diesel trucks anyway......? do u know? ive asked so many ppl and i simply just said idk
@7150285 HD stands for "Heavy Duty." The 1500 Ram is the "Light Duty" varient; although, there is no designation " " for the Light Duty models like the HD (Heavy Duty) pick-Up's.
Anything greater than 3/4 ton is considered HD. Believe it or not, the Ram 6.7 cummins is used in the Ford commercial line-up. What is that saying about the power of this engine. In the commercial line the cummins is considered a light duty truck. In the pick-up world it is considered a HD engine.
@Aonexia correct me if im wrong but isn't dodge ram's the only vehicle frame that wasn't enlarge from 1500 to 2500? not saying the suspension thou. just the car frame itself
@7150285 Good question.. I don't know the answer to this one. I would refer you to a Ram dealer machanic; or call Ram corporation and ask to speak directly with the engineering department. Better have your pen and pad ready to take notes. The engineers love individuals like you to pick their brain to peices. I know I do! :) -Although, you have asked me a question that I can not answer so I will refer you to the experts that build the machine. :D
@Aonexia well, that wasn't really a hard question becuz u can tell a 1500 silverado from a 2500 silverado HD simply becuz the size of the truck is much bigger not only the tires, suspension but the whole truck body.....but dodge ram 1500 to 2500 seems to me the size of the truck remained the same except for the suspension
@kohsman313 Yes. But when your stuck you will require a sharp tool like this Rig to pull you back into operational plight mode. This Rig is designed for one thing and one thing only in the back country.... Rescue!
Here is why the power wagon is better: where in the USA would u need to go 100 mph in the desert? Now the powerwagon is a way more nessicary truck for going to places where the raptor cant... have u ever seen the raptor try and go muddin? hahaha screw ford.... RAM for lifeee
Most people have NO IDEA on how to properly use the incorporated components on this truck! You can read all kinds of articles on why NOT to run lockers on a street rig... It's simply overkill!
Dodge and Ford make the best trucks on the market... GMC and Chevy are really lacking over the past couple years... they are taking away all the features of a nice truck just to give it a thousand or so more pounds of payload...
this is a sick truck. I drive a 1990 ford bronco but have always liked dodges and i almost got one. but the point is all American trucks are bad ass and they all have there pros and cons and if were gonna argue with anyone on who's trucks are better it should be with foreign a company's truck
I would take a 2005 Dodge Power Wagon over the new one any day. Oh wait, never mind my dad already has one. I drive a 1996 Dodge 1500 5.9L Magnum, and a 1998 Dodge 2500 V10. I just don't like the newer body style really.
@hoythunting1 They suck because you think that. This is what americas future has to look forward too. Closed minded idiots. All of them are good for their own reasons.
@Rlnthndr not relly dodge is probabley the best on the market because they have the hemi offered in the rams and the power wagon and they offer the 6.7L cummins wich is better then duramax and powerstroke, powerstroke has high end torque wich is stupid becasues it helps on speed not towing, duramax is about the same and cummins has low end torque so you can pull more and faster, thats why ford and chevy suck
@hoythunting1 why is the dodge slowest then? With a 9000 pound load the dodge took almost 30 seconds to get around a semi truck where the powerstroke and duramax were well under 15. Also all three make great low end torque. I would argue that ford is the best since it has a good company behind it. chevy is second since it has a good truck but not so good company, and that dodge is the worst since its product is crappy and its company is bankrupt. but they all have their strong and weak points.
@Rlnthndr you seem to forget al three companys went bankrupt and dodge spent the least to get out, That and ford is not the best company and dosent have that much to back it up, dodge has the cummins and cummins has 92yrs of technology dropped under the hood, powerstroke and duramax have a long way to go before they can compare themselves to dodge, the only reason people think ford is the best is because it was the first car, and thats all ford and chevy are good for is cars, truck wise dodge is
@Rlnthndr There still are not facts to back this up. Sorry but of the three I would take the chevy before the dodge. But I unlike you have an open mind to explore all three companies. Good luck with that closed mind in life. It will get you no ware.
@hoythunting1 thats not true at all that duramax has high end torque. the LML pushes out 765 foot pounds at only 1,600 rpms. every duramax thats been in production has had low end torque. the6.7 cummins peak torque is at 1,500 rpms i dont think 100 rpm makes a difference the new powerstroke has also brought there peak torque down to 1,600 rpms but have copied alot of things off the duramax and cummins engines with there new 6.7
@DeerCountry2012 the duramax has high end torque and so does the powerstroke, cummins has the most low end torque and thats why its one of the best diesels for towing
@DeerCountry2012 dodge has 650lb-ft of low end torque at only 1500rpms, now if you push it too 1600 then your gonna make alot more low end torque from the cummins then the duramax, that and the chevy 2500 dmax only makes 17800 payload and cummins has 18500 payload, whatcha got ta say about that??
@hoythunting1 first off how the hell is there 17000 pounds of payload. payloads wat u can put in the bed of the truck and chevy has the most at 7000 lbs. and the new chevy can tow 22,000 lbs stock where the cummins can only pull 18,000, whatcha got ta say about that??
@SecularTechnology i know he claims hes been a diesel technition for over 10 years but he thought a duramax red lines at 6000 rpms when the gauge dosnt even go that high
i dont care who are or who u think u are any truck that can take as much as a dodge and still looks good doing it is a freakin awsome truck! DODGE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!
@SecularTechnology Chevy's Duramax is made by a joint operation called DMax which is chevy partnered with izuzu because of izuzu's long history of diesel engines. So if you want to say they are jap motors just say they are half jap motors (in reality it is a engine, motors are electric based)
Actually more so Chevy for the current models because they made all the mods to the old engine. Izuzu designed the original, and chevy worked with it from there. What do you mena "motors are electric based" Motor has been used for naming engines for decades.
Nice truck! It needs bigger tires, maybe 35's. And they should have put it through some harder off-roading! My stock 05 superduty with 35's could have done all of that.
We've got them in our Electr. Companies. They get stuck in every muddy weather. A fucked up VW- Caddy is easier to handle and it never gets stuck due to it's weight. We have chevy and dodge - a truck for roads only
I write from Russia. There was a big campaign to buy them. They did and the directors got some nice profits from the deal.
We who have to drive them were happy about the possibility to drive real trucks, but it was funny to see how desperate we became after the first rain.
You must know, we don't have roads here. No pavements. So, real offroad meant for hard-core 4x4. Too heavy. The best would be to have the old Willies from WW2.
Awesome truck 5/5. If you're going to be using it for off road use like this you might want to invest in some dif skid plates or something to protect it. It smoked a couple of rocks and looks like it was leaking.
you know i hate to say it but dodge is the last real truck. i have become a dodge fan over 12 years of getting my chevy's killed by dodges. the powerwagon is a beast to the finest. i am a chevy engineer and every year we can not out pull them in our challenges we just got done with our last one and dodge kicked out everyone it was a true site to see no company could match their power
1:39, they should consider a protection o some kind of metal bed for the front differential!! if u take on rocks so frequently u will end up destroying it!
People who are giving this truck crap, try putting your factory stock truck through what this truck goes through and see what happens.I'm a true dodge fan and i hate ford with a passion. The only ford truck i respect is the raptor. The power wagon comes like this from the factory. You would have to spend some $ to get a ford up to speed with this truck.
@hendlank a f-450 is in a whole different class(dually class).if you want to talk dually put the new 3500 heavy duty ram against the new f-450 ford.lets compare.ford has a 6.4L engine Dodge has 6.7L.ford starts at $52,965 Dodge starts at $39,005.everything in the dodge engine is bigger and better than the ford. the dodge also last longer and are more durable than the ford trucks.and the 3500 should really be matched with the f-350,but its able to match with bigger trucks than itself.i'm only 14.
@dab0ss901 plus its a cummins and nothing can compare with that if u talkin its own class. and plus its got both front and back differential and the bed is flexible which is great for towing shit. im 15. ur 14. y do we know more than that older asshole?
@Foolishllama chevy is better, but that's not important right at this moment, wut is important is how funny it it when how we know more than most adults on youtube, it's funny how a grown person with there license and the vehical there talking about dont know any more than a teen who really isn't suppose to even start a car by some maybe all state laws. u know wut i mean.
@dab0ss901 I have driven a stock 4x4 pickup under most of those situations. What moron is going to take his brand new, $50k pickup rock crawling? Also, the footage of it on the road came across as odd...as if I am supposed to be impressed that it didn't rollover and explode in a fireball in a gentle curve at 30mph. I like the old dodge power wagons...they looked tough and were apparently very durable.
@dab0ss901 i like dodge but you know what, its sad that dodge has such a great diesel engine and the super dutys are so much better than this. stronger, tougher, and can haul more(dont believe me look it up or go drive a ford). ford has better work trucks and the raptor may only be like a desert truck but hey thats what they wanted it to be. but i do like this and would take it over a raptor but not over a super duty
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
fucking dodge, still running live axle in the front, gm is actually advancing and using independent but dodge is still stuck in the stone age . oh well its not like chryslers gonna be around much longer

Because of the thick intercooler, it would eliminate the bumper and winch combo.

Dodge and Ford make the best trucks on the market... GMC and Chevy are really lacking over the past couple years... they are taking away all the features of a nice truck just to give it a thousand or so more pounds of payload...
Ckrepp564 1 year ago
some of you guys are highly prejudiced against ford. do some research. compare Ford to this truck and lets see who wins . my guess is ford.

this is a sick truck. I drive a 1990 ford bronco but have always liked dodges and i almost got one. but the point is all American trucks are bad ass and they all have there pros and cons and if were gonna argue with anyone on who's trucks are better it should be with foreign a company's truck
bsnow71 1 year ago
I would take a 2005 Dodge Power Wagon over the new one any day. Oh wait, never mind my dad already has one. I drive a 1996 Dodge 1500 5.9L Magnum, and a 1998 Dodge 2500 V10. I just don't like the newer body style really.

it went through a puddle? and everyone is basing that chevy and ford suck because of that? Idiots. A honda could get through that.
Rlnthndr 1 year ago
@Rlnthndr I dont base it off this chevy and ford just suck HAHA
hoythunting1 1 year ago
@hoythunting1 They suck because you think that. This is what americas future has to look forward too. Closed minded idiots. All of them are good for their own reasons.
Rlnthndr 1 year ago
@Rlnthndr not relly dodge is probabley the best on the market because they have the hemi offered in the rams and the power wagon and they offer the 6.7L cummins wich is better then duramax and powerstroke, powerstroke has high end torque wich is stupid becasues it helps on speed not towing, duramax is about the same and cummins has low end torque so you can pull more and faster, thats why ford and chevy suck
hoythunting1 1 year ago
@hoythunting1 why is the dodge slowest then? With a 9000 pound load the dodge took almost 30 seconds to get around a semi truck where the powerstroke and duramax were well under 15. Also all three make great low end torque. I would argue that ford is the best since it has a good company behind it. chevy is second since it has a good truck but not so good company, and that dodge is the worst since its product is crappy and its company is bankrupt. but they all have their strong and weak points.
Rlnthndr 1 year ago
@Rlnthndr you seem to forget al three companys went bankrupt and dodge spent the least to get out, That and ford is not the best company and dosent have that much to back it up, dodge has the cummins and cummins has 92yrs of technology dropped under the hood, powerstroke and duramax have a long way to go before they can compare themselves to dodge, the only reason people think ford is the best is because it was the first car, and thats all ford and chevy are good for is cars, truck wise dodge is
hoythunting1 1 year ago
@Rlnthndr There still are not facts to back this up. Sorry but of the three I would take the chevy before the dodge. But I unlike you have an open mind to explore all three companies. Good luck with that closed mind in life. It will get you no ware.
Rlnthndr 1 year ago
@hoythunting1 thats not true at all that duramax has high end torque. the LML pushes out 765 foot pounds at only 1,600 rpms. every duramax thats been in production has had low end torque. the6.7 cummins peak torque is at 1,500 rpms i dont think 100 rpm makes a difference the new powerstroke has also brought there peak torque down to 1,600 rpms but have copied alot of things off the duramax and cummins engines with there new 6.7
DeerCountry2012 1 year ago
@DeerCountry2012 the duramax has high end torque and so does the powerstroke, cummins has the most low end torque and thats why its one of the best diesels for towing
hoythunting1 1 year ago
@hoythunting1 how the hell is 1,600 rpm high end torque
DeerCountry2012 1 year ago
@DeerCountry2012 dodge has 650lb-ft of low end torque at only 1500rpms, now if you push it too 1600 then your gonna make alot more low end torque from the cummins then the duramax, that and the chevy 2500 dmax only makes 17800 payload and cummins has 18500 payload, whatcha got ta say about that??
hoythunting1 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@hoythunting1 first off how the hell is there 17000 pounds of payload. payloads wat u can put in the bed of the truck and chevy has the most at 7000 lbs. and the new chevy can tow 22,000 lbs stock where the cummins can only pull 18,000, whatcha got ta say about that??
DeerCountry2012 1 year ago
@DeerCountry2012
You know he has no clue what he's talking about right? 17,800 payload? Please
SecularTechnology 1 year ago
@SecularTechnology i know he claims hes been a diesel technition for over 10 years but he thought a duramax red lines at 6000 rpms when the gauge dosnt even go that high

@DeerCountry2012 thats like right off idle hahahahaha. i think a chip would solve that problem in the power curve.

Tutzzu 1 year ago
Ford and Dodge HD's both rock. Chevy's use Jap motors
SecularTechnology 1 year ago
@SecularTechnology Chevy's Duramax is made by a joint operation called DMax which is chevy partnered with izuzu because of izuzu's long history of diesel engines. So if you want to say they are jap motors just say they are half jap motors (in reality it is a engine, motors are electric based)
alexkeller39 1 year ago
@alexkeller39
You act like you are teaching me something.

My stock 05 superduty with 35's could have done all of that.

is it better than raptor svt for off road performance?

@DrouQC faster yes but through rougher terrain the solid axle, sway disconnect and lockers will end up getting you farther. Just less bling...

We've got them in our Electr. Companies. They get stuck in every muddy weather. A fucked up VW- Caddy is easier to handle and it never gets stuck due to it's weight. We have chevy and dodge - a truck for roads only
swatfour 1 year ago
@swatfour lol really? they are that bad offroad huh?
brad11344 1 year ago
@brad11344

@swatfour how they were that unhappy with them i know dodges arnt good trucks anyways

@dab0ss901 yah but what about the F-450 1and a half ton? that dodge is only a little 2500.
hendlank 1 year ago
@hendlank a f-450 is in a whole different class(dually class).if you want to talk dually put the new 3500 heavy duty ram against the new f-450 ford.lets compare.ford has a 6.4L engine Dodge has 6.7L.ford starts at $52,965 Dodge starts at $39,005.everything in the dodge engine is bigger and better than the ford. the dodge also last longer and are more durable than the ford trucks.and the 3500 should really be matched with the f-350,but its able to match with bigger trucks than itself.i'm only 14.
dab0ss901 1 year ago
@dab0ss901 haha me too
hendlank 1 year ago
@dab0ss901 plus its a cummins and nothing can compare with that if u talkin its own class. and plus its got both front and back differential and the bed is flexible which is great for towing shit. im 15. ur 14. y do we know more than that older asshole?
Foolishllama 1 year ago
@Foolishllama chevy is better, but that's not important right at this moment, wut is important is how funny it it when how we know more than most adults on youtube, it's funny how a grown person with there license and the vehical there talking about dont know any more than a teen who really isn't suppose to even start a car by some maybe all state laws. u know wut i mean.
296jayce 1 year ago
@Foolishllama the power wagon does not a have a cummins. the winch is where the intercooler for the deisel goes

I like the old dodge power wagons...they looked tough and were apparently very durable.
kenfo0 1 year ago
@dab0ss901 dude this is dodge's off road truck
you dont have to spend any money on the fords to get them up to speed with this
they come out of the factory just as good as this, you say try putting your factory stock truck through this when any ford could do this stock
if you dont belive me check out some of the rock crawling and capabilites of all these STOCK trucks
theworldisours123 1 year ago
@dab0ss901 i like dodge but you know what, its sad that dodge has such a great diesel engine and the super dutys are so much better than this. stronger, tougher, and can haul more(dont believe me look it up or go drive a ford). ford has better work trucks and the raptor may only be like a desert truck but hey thats what they wanted it to be. but i do like this and would take it over a raptor but not over a super duty

if IFS is so much better than solid axels then why in the hell do rock crawlers use solid axels

fucking dodge, still running live axle in the front, gm is actually advancing and using independent but dodge is still stuck in the stone age . oh well its not like chryslers gonna be around much longer

IFS is useless. low travel, bad articulation, and weak as hell. CVs cant handle much without falling apart.
