Damn, Infiltration really got into Mago's mind midgame, but Mago pulled it together. Infiltrations gameplay is confusing , he keeps changing. Both great players, i liked infiltration better here.

Akuma should've had that....everytime he was ahead he backed off and let Sagat spamm his fireballs, and its not just any spammer, its frickin Mago. He's the best at that tactic, just the wrong move.

sagat is overpowered in SF4 but akuma does really well against him. Its probably in akumas favor cause 1 knockdown can take 40% of sagats health with his vortex,loop and then stun for another 40%

Simple answer: They are so dumb on their defense hence eating a large combo.

Even every character has it weaknesses.

A best example would be Momochi against Mago in GODSGARDEN 2. Akuma defense is terrible but due to Momochi's godlike skill on the loops combo he beat the "OVERPOWERED" sagat.

@izwanhaiqal He is overpowered lol. In SF4, Sagat was the highest tier, and tiers are in effect at pro level. There's a reason why most top players in japan are a bunch of Sagats. In SSF4, he's way weaker, and from my personal experience he's less threatening. But it's better, now top players' characters will be a mixed bag of everything.

Different tournaments have different rules.

Some are one game only, some are first to two. Finals are generally first to 3, or 5.

Akuma is in the catagory, I respect the fact that he takes a little more damage...But the general ryu spam strategy works for him...Its just his extra moves give skilled players a little more to work with, giving off the appearence that he's slightly less spammy...Now Gouken on the other hand has killer technique driven moves and his fireball traps aren't all noobstyle, so I don't include him in the shoto spam club lol

Goukens counters are skill driven, they aren't a generic shoryuken...His flying move is easily punishable, and you can dodge his fireballs alot easier imo as long as you don't try to immediately attack him...Granted his fighting stance and animations are rediculous as is the case with most of the SF4 characters I can still respect Gouken a whole hell of alot more then the other shoto fighters.

Akuma actually has the advantage vs sagat because of the roundhouse to divekick mixups, and the absurd combos akuma has. It's a very slight advantage, but still there.

Very close and intense matches. Mago pulled out some close wins, but I guarantee he will be practicing his ass off now to avoid that in the future.

Props to Infiltration too. Very impressive Akuma. His execution was perfect, just made a few mistakes in closing out the match, which Mago took advantage of.

Thats the best Sagat in the world and he barely beat a good Akuma (no slouch).  Sagat is over powered, but Akuma obviously has the best offense and run away/avoid counter hit with normal moves in the game.
