  • Where did u get him!?!? This is my dream bird

  • StatusThe Palm Cockatoo is still relatively common in Cape York, but is threatened there by habitat loss, particularly bauxite mining around Weipa and altered fire regimes elsewhere. Palm Cockatoos are hunted in New Guinea. This species is in high demand for the pet trade due to its unusual appearance. The Palm Cockatoo is currently evaluated as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It is listed on Appendix I of CITES.

  • Thanks for the information! That's too bad they are being hunted like that. Such a sweet bird, but rather not have them taken from the wild to be caged as a pet.

  • for god sake palm cockatoos are native to australia and are not endangered so shut up

  • You sound like you have anger issues. Grow up. This is my pet and she is cool and that is all that matters. Why you care about me and mine befuddles me. :-)

  • @lisa248363 sorry i wasnt talking to you i was talking to goodonya08.

btw i love you palm cockatoo(also calles goliath cockatoo btw....)

he is so cute and i think you have a very good companionship with him or her

  • money?????? thanks

  • aww she is using a spoon! what a clever girl ;)

you are so lucky to have one of these. i would simply love to have one, you should find her a boyfriend in your area!

the closest thing to a palm cockatoo ive ever seen was a umbrella cockatoo named apollo. he adopted me as his pet and belongs to a friend of mine. i love cockatoos!

  • are they like 15000 dollars

  • Lisa, Hello and greetings from KW. I have a macaw, a harliquin macaw, named Lola. I had the plesure of working with a Palm Cockatoo his name was Spock. I remember when he didn't like the costomer he let them know it. He was my favorite. Also you are corrcet about this species being breed in captivity here in the U.S.A. My favorite thing about Palm cockatoos is the way they stomp their feet...no other breed of parrot will stomp their feet like this one. Oh my birdie loves mashed potatoes too.

  • I am so jealous! Can't find any up by me in the North East. Very Beautiful! I hope these idiots understand that you can't release a domestic bird into the wild !

  • I want one of these ;o

  • See if you can find the dvd Australia the land of parrots. i know it was dubbed for America. I t has some things on the Palm cocky"s.

  • Endangered animals are protected under international law by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)

  • Exactly-International Trade-she was captive bred in the United States and this doesn't apply to her. No black palms are permitted to be brought into the country now without proper permits, or at all, if I am understanding what I have been told properly. Regardless, she is a very sweet bird. Lovely species with little known about them. Do you know much about them? I would love to learn more.

  • must be something about aussie birds and mashed potato, my galah can't get enough of it

  • hope u got a licence for that palm cocky they r endangered . it should b back in australia.

  • You don't have to have a license to own one in the US. I know she is on the endangered species list, though I didn't when I purchased her. She wouldn't survive in the wild of Australia after being captive bred and raised. I appreciate your comment.

  • Thanks! She is quite an expensive bird, but well worth the price. She is completely different from the white variety of cockatoo. She is very quiet most of the time. Her only vocals are shared on my other video! Very unique voice! She also hates to get her 'hands' dirty. :-)

  • Beautiful! I love the use of spoon. At $8K-$14K, I think we'll have to just enjoy yours here on YouTube. Do they "scream" like a typical Cockatoo?

  • lovely bird..i`m from kuwait..its my dream to have one of the palm cockatoos..here i only can find the white one :/

  • Thank you! Matia is a six year old Black Palm Cockatoo that I just adore! She is a fabulous creature. I never thought I would share my life with one!

  • Beautiful bird!
