Fear and Chiller are shitty horror. ACM and TCM play classic horror once in awhile, mostly after Midnight. I want a channel that displays films from silent to about 96. Yea, thats classic horror. You rarely see the classics anymore.
@dragonslayerofthedam Chiller is good for watching reruns of Tales from the Darkside, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the 80's Twilight Zone, but the movies they show are some of the most putrid crap ever made. It's not even worth waiting through the commercials to watch any of them all the way through.
I miss this soo much now they play shitty movies on tv and what they call orror is just overpriced fluff compared to the classics monstervision showed like all good things garbage comes along and networks pick up the crap and drop the cool stuff
I discovered Joe Bob and "MonsterVision" sometime in 1996, right around the time I was getting into horror movies. It was perfect time, as I was able to watch all these "new" (to me, anyway) movies every week. Joe Bob always made it a lot of fun. I miss those days.
The Sy/Fy channel would skyrocket with ratings if they ran this show on weekends showing clasics and obscure horror films with a host who knew horror films
Now would be a good time to bring Monstervision back! With all the crappy remakes coming out, it would be awesome to have a place to watch classic horror movies.
I'm planning an article on MonsterVision. Those days were, by far, the best ever for the movie fan. Granted, MonsterVision before Joe Bob was good, but he really made it an EVENT. I've never seen a movie, tv special, or what-have-you that really felt like something special since MonsterVision went away. You, sir, are the greatest host we could have ever asked for, or deserved. We miss you Joe Bob.
@Deadlyrazorwings Have you seen the Gremlins episode here? I've seen other movies here, but not the Gremlins episode. That is specificly the episode i want to see.
@OkSka Try to get everybody on your list to start pulling up Joe Bob videos today and tomorrow getting Google to wonder why Joe Bob is getting pulled up. Make it a Halloween Horror Talk Show Host thing :) Get Joe Bob more attention. Because when a lot of people watch videos at once, then Google puts them on the front of YouTube as "Videos being watched now"
All fans. Instead of saying how much you miss him here. Copy links to this video, send it to TNT, TBS, FX, and SPIKE. Then tell them to look at all the comments and view counts of supporters that would watch him, meaning more advertising money for the station. THUMBS UP this comment not for me, but to keep the idea bumped for others. Or copy this and send it around. Not for me, but for Joe Bob.
The LEGEND!! Why has he not been back on TV with this kind of show is beyond me. I cant get enough of Joe Bob, watching shitty B movies just isnt the same without his witty info and jabs....
@MatticusFinch1820 He's much older now, but he has held up well. Watch one of his interviews. Type in Joe Bob Horror Fest 2010 and that should pull it up. TV is not the same without a host, hosting horror movies like that again. The 80s and mid 90s were awesome.
why do i feel like theres a specail urge of bringing back fan demanded things like i heard that joe bob might bring a show similar to this back on the air, beavis and butthead are coming back, roger ebert just anounced the return of at the movies, and a new godzilla remake is coming that can actually be fan approved
There is an internet radio show called Death By DVD that is broadcasted live every friday night at 11 PM eastern on a website called Blog Talk Radio. This week they are doing an homage/tribute to Joe Bob Briggs. Check it out!
That makes me want a cheap beer and a monster movie. I miss Joe Bob Briggs. Hey, does anyone think that if we get a petition to get Monstervision put back on air Joe Bob Briggs will host it again?
Man, all you hear and see now is... "DUN-DUN! New York. Sector 115. Suspect found...etc, etc, etc.! Give me a break! I miss JOE BOB and this SHOW! Bring back Monstervision! Whether it be on this network or another! I'm all FOR IT!! Joe Bob Rocks!!
Yeah, going from "Watching TNT beneath the bug-zapper light" to "TNT: WE Know Drama"....what a shock. Joe Bob himself said that TNT had an "identity" issue, they wanted badly to compete with HBO and what they were doing wasn't "it". Also. They were sold, about 1998 or so, to Time/Warner/AOL and in corporate fashion of ruining everything, they ruined TNT as well.
It stinks now. How about how they play the same crappy movie three nights in a row? And if they air "Bored of the Rings" one more time I'm going to scream.
i miss MonsterVision Joe Bob Briggs was the best. MonsterVision was the ony good thing on Saturday Night at the time the ony thing i know is a petition has been created to get Joe Bob Briggs and MonsterVision back
Joe Bob Briggs was awesome, brought his own personal love for horror movies to the show and was helpful in making me in a trash cinema guru. This was probably the last great show dealing on the subject on TV, next to MST3k and Reel Wild Cinema, hard to believe this was on just 10 years ago! Awesome shit.
As one of the execs who originally hired Joe Bob (I left the network back in 2000), I think those were the days, weren't they? TNT was once an innovative fun network, but there's not much of that left anymore anywhere on TV, is there? Joe Bob was terrific and made a lot of people happy! I still think MonsterVision was one of the greatest movie franchises we ever created!
@MedusaA He was still on in 2000? was that when they changed his theme to something else? I recall him being in a class room or a resturaunt for some reason and they changed the theme even though he was still hosting horror flicks. They should have left it the same and kept him on the air. But I've read him say he enjoys writing and being a critic a lot more than being on the show. I was a grip on his set, and he got irritated sometimes I assume cus of some of the higher ups at the networks.
I used to watch this when it was on TNT. I enjoyed it. It was campy!
Although I didn't like one time when Joe Bob spoke badly of one of my favorite movies "Alien" (1979), overall I thought his show/skits were different and entertaining.
i have to accept it and for some of you you might not like it but me and other people grow up whit shows like.Teenage Ninja Turtles from the 80s, and spider-man cartoon series and Bionic Six,even the mask had hes own cartoon back then and Freddy's nightmares and i can keep going whit the great and only TV from back then, thunder cats i think the 80s TV was bather than now, i wish i had the 80s and my childhood back that was awesome days for remember!
What the hell happened to TV? TNT, USA, Sci-Fi channel used to show the best movies. I remember they cutout more profanity and nudity than the violence, not like today. And the movies were much better! You try finding movies like Friday the 13th pt. 6 or Phantasm 2 or Bad Channels or Dollman VS the Demonic Toys anymore! Do more people really wanna see the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre than say, Return of the Living Dead or The Legend of Boggy Creek? Kids today know nothing about the classics
true, im 14, and i just think that all the modern horror movies suck. except the hills have eyes 2. *tear* I miss you Joe Bob. You and your PBR. The stories you would tell about your ex's and folks you tagged at the WalMart. After they took you off the air I threw away all my lawn chairs, I just couldn't stand to look at them anymore. Damn the man for taking you off the air! Damn them I say. *sob sob*

Well, then you got monster vision, it's a heck of a fright.

*sob sob*
