I think that Your missing audio problem doesn't due to capturing software if You have tested several capturing software. I think Your problem due to drivers - You should try to install the right driver.
Sony Vegas doesn't support these kind of USB capture cards - so You can use it only for editing videos which You have captured with some other software.
Windows has installed Microsoft's default USB audio driver - it works in many computer, but in Your case there can be a conflict against some other USB audio device as like webcam. You can uninstall that wrong audio driver from the Device Manager - then reinstall drivers. If it doesn't work so You can buy 2xRCA/3.5mm audio plug splitter and hook audio cables to Your audio card's Line in or Mic port and use Line in or Microphone as a source in Your capturing software.
Yo mate I downloaded amcap um I checked the settings I couldn't see sound settings when I change the settings to usb would the sound come auto coz I didn't try it yet

AmCap, VirtualDub, Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and Debut are the most popular. You can use Sony Vegas only for editing videos - capturing with USB capture cards is not compatible with Sony Vegas.

That is ok, but You must have at least double more RAM with Vista and Win7 than with XP. For video editing minimum requirements is 2GB RAM for 32bit Vista and Win7 and 4GB RAM for 64bit Vista and Win7.

Shut down PS3. 2. While the PS3 is off, hold the power button until you hear a second beep and the video settings will be reset to SD.
Click on Audio/Enable Playback Audio and look at in the same manu that You have enabled also USB EMP Audio Device-driver in use - then preview audio feature is on.

Various kind of video and audio formats needs right kind of codecs in Your computer if You want to see and hear it in Your video capture software or video player or play them right in the internet. I have not tried it, but I bet You must first convert those iTune files to Wav or to Mp3 files with some software and then add those files into Your editing software. I don't want to be a video editing teacher, so You must look at itself from the help part of video editing software how to do that.
My problem is the ezcap doesnt capture my audio I have to use the microphone array line in to capture sound and that makes the sound quality crappy. The video captures just fine however.
@were10chuck after you click capture from device and before you click record you get a screen for selecting you device. underneath the is a box beside audio device, tick it. then on the drop down list select Line (usb device). this should work!!

help i have it installed and im using totalmedia extreme and whenever i captures video the audio is out of sync like rly bad and the video skips back and forth

@EasycapExpertti Nope, I've uninstalled it, and it still has the sound on the left side only, I've also tried Virtual Dub as well, but it still has the same problem, maybe its an issue with the capture card, note that the sound is perfectly fine when I stream live.
I think that USB audio chip can be defective - audio seem to works with streaming, because it comes via internet and then it uses computer's audio card.
There is 14months factory warranty for this device, so ask for a replacement from Your seller.
Other possibility is to purchase 2xRCA/3.5mm audio plug splitter and hook audio wires into computer's Mic in or Line in port and use then that port as a source in Your capturing software.
Your sending device is probably Xbox and You have one of these newest 60Hz videos as like Halo3 or MW2, so You should use 60Hz formats either PAL60 or NTSC-433.
Perhaps You must lower the volume of the microphone.
Sometimes it helps if You change audio rate from 44,1kHZ to 48kHz.

WDM 2861 Device is the newest video driver - I have here the latest version dated 20/8/2010. But the name of the video driver should be USB EMP Audio Device and You should have that name in the main page of Arcsoft Showbiz (You must take that in use as a source). If You have there some other name so You should go to Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers and delete that wrong driver manually, unplug EzCAP, restart computer and install drivers again.

Sometimes Windows has updated from the internet a wrong video driver which prevent audio driver to work.

When i try edit my clips recorded from EzCap116 it flickers and basically looks like its repeating constantly. its fine when uploaded to youtube but its so hard to watch and edit with.

Drag and drop that thumbnail photo of the captured vid to the timeline and then there comes Export tab where You can save it to several formats which can be use in Youtube.
I always try to avoid to be a video editing teacher, because it would take too much time to explain things, so I advice You to read carefully what they are saying in the help part of software and then You can find some tutorial vids from Youtube.
I bet You have there 60Hz Xbox video and then You should use either PAL60 or NTSC-433 format - these formats are hided in Ulead VideoStudio and You must take in use a special menu and here is a tutorial for it:

720x576px is the max resolution of PAL formats and 720x480px is the max resolution of NTSC formats - that is not a big differencies of the size and doesn't make bad quality.

FFDShow codecs are working in the background automatically after You have installed them. Sync problems due to mostly that You have lack of power in Your computer or even if You have a powerful computer there can be something wrong in the operating system or there can be a virus which takes power.
People fixes these sync problems with Avisynth plugin which is compatible with VirtualDub - look at some Youtube tutorials:
There can be a missing or defective file in the video and audio codecs or in the drivers or in the capturing software. So reinstall drivers and capturing software and install FFDShow-codecs.
The max capturing resolution is 720x576px PAL or 720x480px NTSC, so if You want to split HD video to TV and SD video to EzCAP so You need a converting box HD to SD (composite or s-video) and split HD signal before that converting box - 1 line to the TV and one line to the converting box. If You have a home theather receiver with YBR or Hdmi inputs so You can use it as a converting box. In some TV's there is video output with RCA or scart and then You can take signal to EzCAP from it
Yes - You must buy it separately if You want that You get HD in Your TV and You think SD is not enough. If You think it is ok if You get SD video also to You TV, so You need to buy normally 3pcs RCA splitters and 2x RCA cable (I have these in my online store).

You have a newer version of ArcSoft Showbiz, but there is not big differencies, so make those same settings there.
Most important is that You take in use both video driver and audio driver of Your capture card as a source in Arcsoft.

If Your video is laggy so it doesn't due to PAL60 or ArcSoft or capturing device. The reason can be that Your processor works too hard = Your computer is not powerful enough for this device and software.
Check that from Task Manager's (press ctrl+alt+del) Performance tab - CPU Usage must be under 50% during
capturing and if it is more so try to stop all other programs or buy more RAM and/or better processor and/or
better grapfic card and/or faster hard drive.

I have not tried it, but I bet You must first convert those iTune files to Wav or to Mp3 files with some software and then add those files into Your editing software. I don't want to be a video editing teacher, so You must look at itself from the help part of video editing software how to do that.

My problem is the ezcap doesnt capture my audio I have to use the microphone array line in to capture sound and that makes the sound quality crappy. The video captures just fine however.

@were10chuck after you click capture from device and before you click record you get a screen for selecting you device. underneath the is a box beside audio device, tick it. then on the drop down list select Line (usb device). this should work!!

Check from the Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers that You have installed drivers proberly - check that the names of the drivers are USB 2861 Device for video and USB EMP Audio Device for audio.
Other possibility is to hook audio wires to Your computer's audio card Mic input or Line in input and use then audio card input as a source in Your capturing software.

It can due to lack of power -> check that CPU Usage is under 50% (Task Manager's Performance tab) - if it goes over 50%, so try to stop all other programs and internet connection or buy more RAM.
Test also free softwares: AmCAP, Deput, VirtualDub, Golden Videos and CaptureFlux.

For some reason, whenever I try too record a video with this program, but the sound always comes out of the left speaker, and it has nothing to do with the speaker or capture card, since whenever I stream on Justin.tv, the sound is fine, its something to do with the program? Please help?

There must be some corrupted file in ArcSoft and reinstalling may help.
I recommend to test capturing also with these free softwares: AmCAP, Deput 1.49, VirtualDub, Golden Videos and CaptureFlux.

@EasycapExpertti Nope, I've uninstalled it, and it still has the sound on the left side only, I've also tried Virtual Dub as well, but it still has the same problem, maybe its an issue with the capture card, note that the sound is perfectly fine when I stream live.

I think that USB audio chip can be defective - audio seem to works with streaming, because it comes via internet and then it uses computer's audio card.
There is 14months factory warranty for this device, so ask for a replacement from Your seller.
Other possibility is to purchase 2xRCA/3.5mm audio plug splitter and hook audio wires into computer's Mic in or Line in port and use then that port as a source in Your capturing software.

Perhaps You must lower the volume of the microphone.
Sometimes it helps if You change audio rate from 44,1kHZ to 48kHz.
If it is laggy, so it can due to lack of power -> check that CPU Usage is under 50% - if it goes over 50%, so try to stop all other programs and internet connection or buy more RAM.

Apparently many people have had trouble with Windows 7 64 bit for audio, I don't have EzCap116 just yet (it's being delivered), I know it's fine with Windows XP but is it fine with Linux (Ubuntu 10.10 to be precise)?

Hopefully Your DC60+ is the genuine one.
For better quality:
1. Install FFDShow codecs to Your Windows
2. Use gold plated cables and adapters
3. Check that all contacts between devices, cables and adapters are tight enough
4. Do not use any extra USB cable - put EzCAP straight to the USB port
5. Switch off all other programs and internet connection during capturing - CPU Usage should be under 50% and if it is over, so buy more RAM
6. Capture with 720x576px PAL, 720x480px NTSC

I presume You have an Easycap DC60 v2.1c and if You try to use it with 60Hz Xbox games as like Halo3 or COD, so video comes out only with b&w, because it supports only 50Hz.

ArcSoft Showbiz has saved captured and edited video in Mpeg format in Your computer's hard drive and now You must go to Your Youtube channel and there in the up side is "Upload" link and behind it the button "Upload Video". Then You can pick up that saved video from Your hard drive.

WDM 2861 Device is the newest video driver - I have here the latest version dated 20/8/2010. But the name of the video driver should be USB EMP Audio Device and You should have that name in the main page of Arcsoft Showbiz (You must take that in use as a source). If You have there some other name so You should go to Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers and delete that wrong driver manually, unplug EzCAP, restart computer and install drivers again.

Sometimes Windows has updated from the internet a wrong video driver which prevent audio driver to work.
Sometimes there has been a conflict against some other USB device as like webcam or TV dongle and You should unplug that another device.

I bet You have there 60Hz Xbox video and then You should use either PAL60 or NTSC-433 format - these formats are hided in Ulead VideoStudio and You must take in use a special menu and here is a tutorial for it:

720x576px is the max resolution of PAL formats and 720x480px is the max resolution of NTSC formats - that is not a big differencies of the size and doesn't make bad quality.

There has been many cases that only NTSC work even if You live in PAL area.
For better video quality:

Problem with mine is that the audio is just abit behind the video, and the quality isnt as sexy as urs, on cod, its very .... call of duty 1 quality for ps2 ya no lol

FFDShow codecs are working in the background automatically after You have installed them. Sync problems due to mostly that You have lack of power in Your computer or even if You have a powerful computer there can be something wrong in the operating system or there can be a virus which takes power.
People fixes these sync problems with Avisynth plugin which is compatible with VirtualDub - look at some Youtube tutorials:

The max capturing resolution is 720x576px PAL or 720x480px NTSC, so if You want to split HD video to TV and SD video to EzCAP so You need a converting box HD to SD (composite or s-video) and split HD signal before that converting box - 1 line to the TV and one line to the converting box. If You have a home theather receiver with YBR or Hdmi inputs so You can use it as a converting box. In some TV's there is video output with RCA or scart and then You can take signal to EzCAP from it

Yes - You must buy it separately if You want that You get HD in Your TV and You think SD is not enough. If You think it is ok if You get SD video also to You TV, so You need to buy normally 3pcs RCA splitters and 2x RCA cable (I have these in my online store).

Of course You can use it without converter and I wouldn't say it produce bad quality even if it capture only SD resolution - here is one sample vid:

sorry but ive just purchased an easycap and it's all installed fine. the problem is when i start up showbiz...just a black screen comes up and sometimes a horrible high pitched noise when. it says live in the top left corner but i cant hear or see anything on my ps3
i dont have a clue what the problem is. everything is plugged in where it should be
