  • Electronica at its finest.

  • Beautiful.

  • "Villains!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! ...tear up the planks! here, here! ... It is the beating of his hideous drummer!"

  • INCEPTION

  • Trevor Horn finished this off beautifully.....

  • Edgar Allan Poe wrote some amazing poems

  • @wayniewayne your joking he was shite !

  • I´ve listening this song for more than 25 years and it´s always amazing!

  • @r1u9d4o0lf hell yeah i still have the album on cd and it was made in 1985 still in mint con

  • inception.

  • The best album i bought in the 80s.Nothing else even came close.

    love this forever. :)

  • Amazing track, so many pieces in it, it could be a mini opera and some classical orchestral movements yet so modern electro sound from 25 years ago. Still pure, classy and perfect as of today. Thanks PROPAGANDA I luv U

  • I got turned on to them back in the late 80's by my friend Carl. I love them!

  • Magnifique! Passé inaperçu, dommage!

  • Master piece! From: Uruguay

  • It's like a movie ost, i like it.

  • Amazing ambient. the album was way ahead of it's time...

  • timeless

  • GRAN GRUPO ALEMAN, LASTIMA QUE DESAPARECIERAN, ME ENCANTABAN Y LO SIGUEN HACIENDO

  • magic

  • Que ha pasado con propaganda?. Que estan haciendo ahora?.

  • Credit to Edgar Alan Poe for the lyrics-and what an amazing soundscape has been created around it. The text for me represents the moment I held my father's ashes in my hand, prior to depositing them in a round rock pool on a beautiful Caribbean beach in Costa Rica 2 years ago. Back in London afterwards I reheard this by 'coincidence' and realised that a tune I had adored for years had become the anthem of my father's re-integration to Earth.

  • excelente tema... propaganda forever..

  • Ein fantastischer Sound.

    Unverwechselbare Stimmen.

    Bombastisch.

    Gänsehaut.

  • The genius that is Trevor Horn Productions!!!!

  • perfect 4 me also:)

  • I was flying to Germany in early 1986 and this Swedish girl sitting next to me was playing this song in her walkman...yes cassette walkman.

As soon as I arrived I went to buy it. Was hooked.

Wow that was 25 years ago and still sounds as perfect as then.

  • a perfect song....

  • Beautiful!

  • Amazing track! This one was singled out in a music mag piece at the time as "an example of complete music", music that plainly rests in itself and doesn't fully belong within any single genre, but which still reflects the present, pure aural exploration. Indeed it is. -Btw who is playing guitar on this one? I know Steve Howe was on the sessions, would like to think it's him doing that agonized, sensuous guitar solo, but not sure (the brief "Murder of Love" solo sounds more definitely like him).

  • een wereld band

  • I was in Reno in 1986 at a club with no name when I bought this vinyl record and loved it then bought the cassette. Way ahead of their time!!

  • @PropagandaD: Vielelen Dank fürs Vrständniss:)Grüsse/PS.Dein Kanal ist großartig!

  • ...all time fave...

Eigentlich unglaublich.

  • Massive respect to Claudia and co.. this is in retrospect one of the very best albums of the 80s.. and it still sounds fresh & perfect..

  • @dwiseman1

I agree, one of the few albums where every single track is awesome and pure genius ! And such a different, unique and fabulous sound. One album I never tire of listening, even 25 years later.

  • @AlmaGCN I agree with you ... its one of the best Albums of the 80s next to Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love" and The Queen is Dead (The Smiths)

  • @NaturalBornHedonist I always preferred Kate Bush's "The Dreaming", her best album, in my opinion.

  • From one of the greatest albums of all time.

  • @beowulven that was the greatest album i ever enjoyed

  • Magnifico grupo.

    Desde España

  • Génial! Je redécouvre cette musique sublime

  • Eine der besten deutschen Bands... grandios !!!!

  • Love this song, one of my favorite albums. Wish they made a Frozen Faces video (b side to P-machine. Thank you for posting

  • We used this tune in the opening of She/Bogie fashion show in Düsseldorf in the '80. It all was a huge success and will love this timeless tune forever!

  • @PropagandaD Oh Yes it is ! ! ! A MASTERPIECE !

  • Can't stop listening to this music.

  • inception!

  • Can some one help me?

For my Coursework i have to anlyse this and i've gotten really far but problem is i need some information on how propaganda was influenced.. or even what instruments were used... Anything will help greatly

    plz reply thank you

  • @Bane391

Seem to remember the quoted Josef K as being an influence

  • beautiful track.

  • That part in the middle, at 4:13... where that synth/guitar comes wailing in... just breathtaking. And then it breaks down just to that xylophone beat, and the trumpet does some soloing... Trevor Horn was a genius! His mid-80s peak was incredible...

  • @Jhensy2012 Absolutely...tho the lyrics play a major part. Give a bit of credit to Edgar Allen Poe... twisted, drug addicted sexual molester he may have been... but a hell of a wordsmith nonetheless!

  • @Loobs666 Not to mention, suspect in the murder of a lady called Mary Rogers, whose death bore disturbing similarities to "The Mystery of Marie Roget". A monster maybe, but as you say, a hell of a wordsmith. Beautiful poetry given full justice by Propaganda. Still remains beside Midnight Oil's "Dust and Diesel", as one of my two favourite albums ever.

  • @Jhensy2012 yes, that part with the pained, wailing guitar and then the midi trumpet (it is a midi sound I think) which just seems to lift its neck like a swan out of the waves of the beat - that part raises the hair off the back of my neck too, every time I hear it.

  • Not heard this in a looooong while...too long. Fantastic track !!!! Str8 to faves.

  • fantastic

  • @PropagandaD This very well could mine as well. It's an amazing, mysterious sounding pieces of music that has turned up in odd places during my life such as in a small, beach side restaurant in Zipolite, Mexico.

  • Thought this would have made a great piece to go over the end credits to the film 'Inception'.

  • yesss!! love it too!... through all the years!!! PROPAGANDA!!

  • GREAT MUSIC.!!!!

  • my favorite song on the album!!!!!!

  • Must be Dreamin' .
