that type of era for pop was ridiculed and slated by many- it was to some extent, the pwl era of the 90s. however, this particular brand of pop- catchy, upbeat, is seriously lacking in today's era. and many of the songs back were great.

Fuck the Kurt Cobain comment. That guy was the most influential guy to get people INTO bands aside from the Beatles, EVER. He inspired everyone who has written anything half decent in rock since 1991. Pop has it's place, but it's sugar coated and bullshit for the most part. There's no truth or real art in it, really.

It uses instruments and sounds that are almost impossible to mimic which is what makes unique. some rock is good, but the same sounding guitar and drums can grow old.... pop music has a world of possibilities when it comes to art. you can make anything.♥

No, it's not.

If you record vocals, mix, add effects etc in a short time, your ear looses focus on the "basics".

Your ears "stop listen" and after some days you hear a new thing "fuck that bass is too low" etc, common failures that happens, and if you take a month on you mixing a record/tune, you most likely will mix it the best you can.

But yeah it takes a lot of time !!

I totally disagree with what "Mike Chapman" said about Kurt Cobain. I think he inspired a lot of people. His lyrics may have been dark and pessimistic, but they didn't discourage kids from being in a band. That's completely ridiculous. Look at all the Nirvana-influenced Alternative Rock and Post-Grunge that was popularly in the late 90's and early 2000s. It wasn't just boy bands who were big during that era.
