I Liked this tutorial my only crit is that the guy keeps telling you that he is not good enough and that made me think that I´ve wasted my money but he is actually really good!

He doesn't go thru all of it, tho. For example the amerture, the clothing and creation of the beasty guy. Kind disappointed I bought it.

So is it possible to make a clay model of a character, say a robot. Using Dave 3d scanner to scan it into 3dmax or zbrush (what ever 3d app you use to transport the scanned model), bring it into zbrush to add textures like chrome etc. Then Take that into a set scene in maya and add lighting etc Maybe even to the finshed animation into after effects to use optical flares and smoke particle etc. Am new to all this but am interested in doing some short animations for a portfolio :)

I have seen tutorials from eat 3D they are not good at all!!! Definitely not recommended!!!

1) they do not give crucial info and they jump steps.

2) they don't tell you the hot keys they press!

3)The instructor doesn’t care about the viewers comfortness and changes the angle of view so fast that you want to throw up!

Don’t bite their crap and their good promotion!

Good tutorials to learn are Digital tutors and cg tuts wich most are free also!

what would be the best computer to use zbrush? window base or apple? any extra info be great - i know nothing about zbrush and would like to seriously get into it.

@maue1969 Have enough RAM, and it really doesn't matter. At least I tend to fry my computer with the lack of RAM. 3-10 million polygons is no joke!

I do not know much about zbrush but i am very interested in learning, i am trying to figure out what kind of computer i need to download zbrush and start going thru the tutorials. would a windows applicaiton or apple be better?

People are becoming too lazy with zbrush with the symmetry brush. Almost every model I see nowadays is just one half copied. (mostly talking about the face. armor is decent.)

@Apophonie i dont believe they are being lazy but to an extent symetry make it look just a little more clean

@Apophonie Well in games it's understandable, as the extra work hardly gets noticed. Generally only outfits an accessories need be asymmetrical.

This character isn't well designed or textured... but this is a workflow tutorial, meant to show the tools, not a show case of his skills.

Bought all his DVD's, their great and really educational. He doesn't throw all the theoretical mumbles towards, like in alot of tutorials, beginners find it hard to get in a program and just start out. I recommend this!
