I like European Metal and absolutely no American Metal.

When I pick up my guitar and write does that mean I am trying to be European???? No...just means I appreciate their music thats all.

If a band is good at a style and sound let them do it...don't let a boarder bound us to cultural influence.

Although the focus is Norse Mythology and the Viking Era the origination of Viking Metal attributed as early as 1983 to Bathory is not only relative to Scandinavia. Yes the origins are there, but looking at the viking age as a whole the expansion and control was well beyond typical Scandinavian borders. So really a band does not need to be from Scandinavia to have a history with the viking age. (i mean if we are going to be nitpicking bands locations now)

i mean they dont have anything whit chinese culture to do, neither have spanish"norse folk metal bands" in common whit nordic people.

my opinion is that its just sad, trying to be from a different country.

they aren't trying to be from a different country, they are just playing the kind of music they want to play... they shouldn't be limited to music thats associated with their country

and yes, i think for example to tatoo chinese letters and writing on your arm , if you for instance are from germany, and are not asian in any way.

i just find copying things a person has NOTHING to do whit seems pretty lame.

so according to you, if you love something very passionately, but it doesn't come from your culture, you can't mimic it in anyway, via music, tattoos, whatever? that's incredible stupid.. I have odin tattooed in runes on me aswell as a valknut, despite having no scandinavian ancestors(as far as I know)... I'm also learning swedish, is that all wrong because I don't have the proper background?
