Bennett, there is so much truth in what you say. I read on the NYT that there is a new, Avatar-inspired trend of suicide, because people have seen that movie and its depiction of an intense connectedness, and long so hard for that level of intimacy, that they despair of ever finding here. Most people rarely, if ever, recognize that. It helps me to meditate and be grateful every day, because it is every day that brings me to every next day.
Wow Ellen! Really? I wonder what the numbers are! Those poor people! If only they knew that Avatar's concept is based on what Yoga, Buddhism, Sufism, Kabbalah, Mystic Christianity, Shamanism, and many other paths all make available with easy instructions and time tested techniques!
Less is more often. To view a rainbow the first time or to see something new under a leaf. We miss out on more while settling for less. Instead of strengthening human bonds we are working overtime. A newly blind man appreciates sight much more than new things. I've met many happy poor people and have seen miserable wealthy people whom felt imprisoned by money. (not enough time for others)
