Omen, I was speaking primarily about Yngwie's song writing skill, particularly his lyric writing prowess. Read the lyrics and then listen to the stories of passion and defiance he tells. I think you'll be impressed.

Regarding his guitar work, I never could digest Yngwie's playing until I started getting into baroque. If you listen to some Bach, Telemann, Vivaldi and Scarlatti, you'll see where he is coming from. He approaches the electric guitar from a baroque viewpoint, not a blues standpoint.
