I don't know the first album producers right now... maybe somebody add this info?

Death Magnetic has digital clipping all over the record, are you deaf dude? They used way too much limiting on the master bus and literally compressed the album until it had zero dynamics. The songs are way better than anything they've done since the 80's, but the quality of the recording blows bit time.

@ManiacSerialKilleR Holy crap man, you obviously have been deafened if you can't hear the distortion on that CD. Google the wave form for any of the songs, it's sa completely solid bar which is a big nono. The clipping might be forgivable if there was some dynamic range, but the entire thing is so compressed that it sounds like crap! I like the songs, but dear god the sound quality is so crappy I haven't touched the album since I bought it.

@viixiithoxxcore Dude, St,. Anger sounded like that for a perfectly good reason: like a garage band in their garage. This was done for several reasons. One of these reasons was the therapy and the consequences it had on the band making that album feel like a fresh start (new bass player, etc). Like a new, raw version of Metallica. Bob Rock and Metallica tried to show this through how the albums sounds... raw, like a fresh band in their garage... To me, this idea was okay though took some time.
