Will, why dont you prepare a longer video , maybe using a drum machine along with this killer slap ? Your tremendous right hand technique must sound awesome to hear and see on this 7 string. Great sound !!!!
Man that's the first time I've ever heard he F string get popped on a 7-string bass. You don't seem to be bothered by the number of strings when playing this style. Nice!
Yea duh, it's funk, but can a real super pro tell me what key he's moving in? I'm a seasoned 4-string player that messes around with 6-strings from time to time.
This isn't Bill Dickinson's custom. This is like their generic version of a seven string. His is much bigger and has wide spacing for fretboard. caus ehe has huge hands.
@lefou1970 Last time i checked the Bill Dickens model had slightly larger string spacing. Since I last posted the last comment I heard it was the opposite and that the Bill Dickinson model actually has smaller string spacing. I looked on the conklin website and musicisnfriend and I can't find anything about string spacing. So I'm not sure sorry.
@MrBassuper Well considering Bill Diskinson's model has six knobs for better tone control, his signature on the pickups and is a neckthrough and you can see where the wings are connected to the neck. No This isn't Bill Dickinson's signature. This is the Conklin Groove Tools Seven string bass or the Conklin GT-7
nice playing, Is it worth it to get a 7-String, I love that thought of the xtra range and capabilities, but tons of ppl tell me I don't need it, and should get something else!
If you think that it's worth it, then it is. Do you NEED seven? I'll be picking up this bass eventually hopefully, and I wanted to find some demos. Don't listen to the whole "Jaco only needed four" or "look at Victor Wooten!" hype. They're great bassists, but an extended ranged bass is almost a beast of it's own. Still a bass, but also a new monster.

found one At guitar center today for only 799 used. Other than a 3/4inch belt buckle scratch that was barely noticeable it was in mint condition.

Starting off the 5th fret on B and going through the E scale? 3 octaves range in a single position, killer!

@lefou1970 the string spacing on the bill dickens is smaller more like a jazz bass. where the GT is more like a p-bass.

I think I'll stick with a 6 string. I respect all instruments though.

excellent playing man! I've got a lot of learning to do in terms of my slap and especially in my tone.
What kind of strings are you using? I never get a sound that bright out of my bass.
