love this :) and there are many other words that have two meanings; hump, shag, root, paul XD 3:28 richard does't look girley playing his guitar ahaha :) 3:46 lol paul XD and a random slap at the end ? hmp lol
That is soooooooooo fecken funny, and brilliant. Love it, it's moved to the supreme number one position of my all time favourite Stairway to Heaven covers! Thanks for uploading.
John Howard killed quality television from the ABC, and took away any chance that our young people can learn about our irreverent and rich culture.
No more quality drama or comedy (no, Melb underworld crime currently on ch9 doesn't count, compare it with 'Blue Murder' written by Ian David - that is quality), we are left yet again to re-runs of american dross.
Fabulous!! I remember watching the "Money or the Gun" with Andrew Denton and every week a different artist or group did 'Stairway to Heaven'. Points to Barry Crocker for dressing up like DAAS. THANKS FOR POSTING!!!
I watched the taping of this episode of Money or Gun 19 years ago. You may not notice it in the video but the DAAS guys were making a lot of obscene gestures and looking really bored at the end after 4.25.
@SNAKEEYESSAM you don't understand. It was a piss take. every week a different band/singer would do the cover and we (Aussies that were watching The Money Or The Gun) would piss ourselves laughing. Good as this is (hey, I still have 1 little plait in my fringe, like Paul often had) the best version ever is Rolf Harris and his wobbleboard.
Canberra is a strange place, and growing up there produces strange people. These guys were contemporaneous with a band called Prick Harness. Not exactly subtle.
@chitchant Yeah, well Paul McDermott made up a third of the team, so they were always doomed to descend into sarcastic digs, as opposed to true comedic wit, which I still believe Tim and Rich were quite capable of.
@TheRealSaucyWench It's soooooo long since I was 15... thanks for reminding me how little makes us tick at that age! What a sweet, short anecdote. Cheers for making me smile even more after having watched the vid!
Is he getting hit in the face in the end?

a) Ah Paul from 2:11 - 2:28
b) 2:31 & 2:43 AND IT MAKES BARRY WONDER!!!!!!!!
c) Is it just me or does Barry look like Tim Minchin in this?
d) HEY! 3:28 It's the boys' favourite dance move back again!
e) 4:26 Paul is the first to lose interest, then rich at 4:32, and then Tim at about 4:54
f) Thats when good neighbours become friends!
g) Does Andrew come up and randomly slap Tim or is it just my imagination?

@QuirkyGirl12345 - You are spot on, totally correct, 100% correct about Tim Minchin!!!!!! Are they related somehow?! Honestly, it's freaky!

DAAS what a team, I remember this when it was first on TV. Innovative, creative and rude.

DAAS was vastly superior when compared to Britain's high output of "Alternative comedy" in the 80's.

I thought they were puerile and juvenile.
There was no subtle wit, just one dig after the other.
The only thing to look forward to was the little one's coiffures.

they were also amazing live - although it was prudent to sit well back from the front, to avoid being spat on... or worse

@djonusas I agree - altho 5 times a DAAS live veteran, & I STILL couldn't resist the urge 2 be front row, centre!!! :)

@djonusas I got spat on by Tim at one of their concerts - my fifteen-year-old self was so stupidly excited and my life was finally complete!! ;)
