yeah when had old pking there was 1 million players active each day... now that we got the shitty PvP and fucking stupid trade limits theres less then 130k... last night there was only 48k players online! no wonder they raised the price. before it was 5 bucks
I was one of those players who played back in the PROPER wilderness PK'ing days (oh how I miss Edgeville and the that lvl 55 wilderness hut). The thrill of the hunt and the risk of losing all my stuff to someone nelse made me shiver, it was unlike any other MMO I had ever played.
Scew the graphics, if they brought PK'ing back I would start playing RS again in a heartbeat.
@Xuvial PK'ing is still there,just in a different form.BH worlds are basically the same as old wild pking with just a different looting system. Also,there are few to none bots at most training spots.
You improve the graphics on a good game and it makes it better. You improve the graphics on a bad game, it make it more appealing and more dissapointing.
Play World of Warcraft, probably the only game where the developers actually give 2 shits about the game.
WoW cataclysm will make it even easier to pick up the game and start playing from level 1.
Or you can pick up Aion Online. Unless of course you cant afford the fee.. then again you wouldn't have the computer to run it.
Runescape is a pretty fun game if you're aged 7-14.
The fact remains that this game was once completely DOMINATED by bots/autominers/goldfarmers with basically 1 in 5 players being a bot.
The fact that an auto-clicker can do all your levelling proves how horribly simple and boring the levelling system is. Why should I do the job of a robot? Where is the fun in that?
@yoshimtu The difference is that a lot of MMO's don't have the entire game revolving around levelling. For purposes of comparision, in World of Warcraft I would say atleast 80%+ of the player population is max level. Less than 0.0001% of Runescape's population has even managed to reach the maximum combat level.
MOST MMO's levelling systems makes it extremely difficult to use a bot, and even if bots find a way it is no big deal because obtaining max level is merely the beginning of the game.
@Painful16 Jagex would never do it. Nobody in their right mind would sacrifice the title of "#1 browser-based game" to "#36 client-based game" just for better gameplay and graphics.
Quests arent Grinding your Right, but the Quests make you walk so far unless you wanna spend money on teleport runes and for noobs they might not even have high enough magic to teleport, so the quests suck IMO
lol by the time you finish everything f2p offers you will have enough to buy 3 air runes a law and whatever element you need for the third. no problem.
This is a very good MMORPG, not only because its browser also because its really original.

@Xuvial A random autoclicker that just clicks cant level for you. One that can actually move can. But then on most MMO's the same applys.

ehh to me runescape is probably the best mmorpg ive played.
1. Low subscription fees.
2. Good community (on members worlds)
3. Skill system is amazing.
4. Quest arent grinding (YAY!)
5. Huge world with new things added every week.
