  • NBkilla15 Here is the link for those who still doubt and also for the teacher that is teaching the equator nonsense.

  • It rotates counterclockwise because that is the direction the waterjets under the rim are pointing, not because it is south of the equator or any other reason other than that. Google it and learn something out of watching the stupid toilet flush...........

  • it does that because the way the earth is rotating. if you are on the equater it doesnt spin just goes straight down. i learned that in school today

  • @NBkilla15 - Your teacher should do a bit more research before handing out misinformation like that. A toilet is way too small for the Coriolis effect to influence it enough.

  • Im scared :(

  • fake.... doesn't happen

  • MIND FUCK

  • O_o......why am i watching this? lol

  • ok how did I get from watching Taylor Swift to watching toilets flush counterclockwise?

  • I can't believe it actully swirls

  • just needed a big taco there to complete this shitty video lol

  • THAT IS AMAZING!

  • stupid commies.

  • wow ive never seen a toilet like that in australia i swear toilets flush doesnt look like that by the way why am i watching toilet videos?

  • Why are there so many toilet vids? Why are they suddenly interesting? Whats the meaning of life?

  • ummm WHY AM I WATCHING THIS? AND HOW DID I GET HERE?

  • Why are there too many videos about toilets here in YouTube? Why am I even watching this.. Does this even matter? What's wrong with me?

  • every guy who has watched this vid is in awe.

every girl who has watched this vid is in confusion as to why people care about which way it flushes and why so many ppl care.

  • Wow i now know the truth about toilet flushing, that was truly amazing only the brave of BRAVE can watch this video in peace

  • I HAVE NOW SEEN EVERYTHING

  • I just came her to know the answer to that simpsons Question

  • I just came from this video! So intensely erotic!

  • from Wikipedia

"Whereas theoretically Coriolis forces affect the draining flow, in practice, various factors, such as rotation of the liquid, and basin shape, dominate, and the Coriolis forces are irrelevant."

  • it flushes different because its in the southern hemisphere the coriolos effect (I know its spelled wrong)

  • @lilD20205

wrong. Its a urban myth that the coriolis effect affects basins, toilets, etc.

  • Why am I wasting my crap watching videos on toilets!

  • it would be kinda cool to find the midway point,,,

  • why am i watching this???

  • DIVIDED BY ZERO!!!

  • my head doesnt feel right watching this

  • hah! the toilet didn't rotate ! FAIL!!!!!!

  • The north/south hemisphere myth is a world wide one and got a lot of publicity due to the Simpsons (when Bart calls Australia to ask if the toilets go the other way). In the UK the travel doc Pole to Pole fell for a scam where locals charge you to see water change direction as you walk over the equator. Both of these things have helped most of the world believe this urban myth is true.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 what ? then how can u explain this

  • @WillShakespeare2007 nm im an idiot LOL good ol snopes

  • @therealCanablisS Not an idiot at all and this mistake even appears in some school text books. Hey before the internet I believed all sort of rubbish I had read or heard and did not research.

  • it spins that way do to the holes put umder the lip in the toilet look hw the water sprays out of them it forces the water to spin counter clockwise.....in the US pretty much all toilet brands are made by the same 2-3 mother companies.....the other countries toilet maker just designed theres to flush the other way.....

  • fake!

  • u can hear the toilet draining into the drain on the floor

  • As far as my experience goes, toilets don't flush in EITHER direction lol

  • Thats how my toilet flushes in Seattle WA!

  • You must be daft in the brain to think that the motion of the earth causes the water to swirl differently, on each side of the planet. The force of gravity is much larger than that of the circular motion. Which way the water swirls is dependent on the shape of the bowl.

  • @Vanamutt, people don't have to be "daft in the brain" to think that. They simply believe what they were taught as children by their parents. In fact, we've evolved over millions of years to do exactly that.

Furthermore, at least one college text book erroneously states the very same thing. Of course people are going to believe what they heard at home and then heard again in college.

  • that only shows how little you know about metheorology, tough its not because of the gravity, it certainly isnt becouse of the shape of the bowl, is because of the motion of earth and the presion this does over the fluid sistems... nerd

  • @frankreich0 Vanamutt is right. The Coriolis effect due to the earths spin is too insignificant for small scale things such as toilet water. So really it show how little YOU know.

  • it's relative to the where you are in the world. below the equator, the toilet will flush counter clockwise, above the equator they flush clockwise

  • @zerutuby Wrong.

  • @ Zerutuby very good, is this! 'cause the motion of earth , the fluid sistems are thus.

  • toilets in australia dont spin at all and wen u put water down the sink it goes counter clockwise so this theory is proven wrong

  • Man You have to be joking. This must be fake. Haha. Great job, comrade.

  • Amazing!

  • It's the direction of the jets that made the water spin counterclockwise

  • the way a toilet spins is the way it's made, btw whats the brand of this toilet

  • no it's not, it depends where you live, above the equator toilet flush clockwise, below the equator they flush counter clockwise. that is the corriolis effect

  • I meant clockwise below the equator, counter clockwise above, got confused, sorry.

  • it has nothing to do with the equator or magnetic fields. it just the way the toilets are designed. the water has to swirl in order to do its job.

  • how is this possible? y does this happen?

  • does it matter of which way a toilet flushes??

  • Sure does! =)

  • @Emile530

actually, it doesnt. The coriollis effect isnt applicable in such micro scale stuff as sinks or toilets. Notice the water jets are all POSITIONED so the water will flush counter clockwise. Had the water jets been positioned differently, the water would rotate clockwise.

I live in Brazil and MY toilet flushes clockwise. Proof that its up to water jets positioning, not coriollis effect.

  • Not really. As long as it flushes I'm good.

    Courtesy flush too, please.

  • im scared

  • no way u just did a horizontal flip on the clip

  • if you look closely you can see there feet so it is not possible they did that (unless they have final cut pro and all its amazing croping but there videos dont look like it)

  • holy crap

  • How does the water go down if you live on the equator?

  • perfectly straight... provided you are exactly on it, how ever i would like to see if a twister would switch directions if it passed by the equator.

  • It only goes up and down, not side-to-side.

  • i think i shit my pants

  • My mind doesn't want to accept that.

  • that is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats insane

  • AMAZING

  • That's is just the way the toilet is built. The jets are going to force water into the bowl which ever way the casting has been built( North or South of the Equator). The Coriolis effect has virtually no effect on water drains and toilets...it does affect weather patterns and air currents though. No, really look it it for yourself...I'll leave now and find a place to hide :)

  • Mine spins the same way, and i am in North america :P

  • wtfffff

    thats crazy

  • that´s not true the toilet flush in south america goes clockwise

  • Pare de usar drogas rapaz.

  • powerfull

  • Fucking WIERD!

  • hardcore man ...hardcore

  • Wow, powerful. Does that flush of a valve or cistern?

  • I believe it's a valve.

  • Probably Flush Valve

  • wow

  • wow

  • cool

  • roll tide. LOL!

  • that toilets bin drinking hi juice

  • has that toilet been drinking hi juice or something

  • has that toilet been drinkin hi juice or somthing

  • Yeah we discussed that in science class in middle school. Something we don't think about everyday.

  • Oh my godness! how high in the air was that water tank of that toilet??

  • get a fing flapper for your tolite

  • that is insane
