Agree that achamanam should not be done facing west. One should do this facing north, except for the argyam. Second part ie gayathri japam should be done facing west. Secondly, tunes while reciting vedic mantras are not correct, syllable gaps are absent, very flat. Vedic mantras out of tune is an injustice to our ancestors who gave us the vedas unchanged. Just a humble opinion

@snarayananr You're right..You can't do Achamanam facing west....It should be done either facing North or east
