  • MASTER JARRE

  • pour moi , les années 70 et 80 ont été les meilleurs pour jean michel jarre, mais après ça, sa musique était toujours aussi bien mais il manque toujours quelque chose, elle est devenu trop commune aux autres musiques éléctroniques

  • My second favourite JMJ track (after Equinoxe, part 5).

  • If there's a track list change for this year's concerts, this should definitely get a run-out. Would certainly help to freshen up the tour a touch and be a change from the usual. Nothing wrong with the usual, but considering I've been to concerts the last 2 years and have tickets for this year, would be nice to hear some "new" tracks.

  • i just readed Murder on the orient express and i saw that video when mom was listening music:))

  • Its nice to know there was a time that MTV actually had quality and cool music most of the time, before it became a reality tv channel.

  • DEJA VU SONG!

  • art on MTV? Shocking indeed!

  • OH MY GOD, IT'S THE VIDEO THAT HAS RAMI'S ICON!

  • Klassiker. =)

  • @TheAtheistSwede Vad skönt användarnamn du hade :D

  • i love his music great video it made my morning. thanks

  • god DAMN this sounds like turrican ! XD

  • One of my absolute favorites Mr Jarre, along with Rammstein and Iron Maiden...

  • j'adore jean michel

  • mammagamma

  • Cool! Jarre forever!

  • the best forever!!

  • For me, this music is totally unique

  • @Pepekcepek : agreed. I've been saying that since the first time I heard Concerts in China, over 30 years ago.

  • What a funny song! Bit repetitive perhaps....but somehow I keep listening to it! Kinda reminds me of the good old 8-bit days of NES and later the 16-bit adventures on the SNES!

Song is nice! Makes ya feel happy somehow....I never heard about Jean Michel Jarre before. I listened to some other songs made by him, but they werent as good as this one. Any recommendations tho?

    - Roger

  • @rogergargantua This piece is one of most "pop" song he made. In my opinion it is one of the least interesting, even if it is a good and efficient "pop-song".

Jarre's genious is not in the "pop" singles in my opinion, but in the concept albums made of long multi-layered and epic "electro-symphonic" and compositions (oxygène, équinoxe, chants magnétiques); as well as the ambiamatal work on sounds (zoolook: propbably the most creative album). One of its best pieces are "ethnicolor" for me.

  • @1976parisien Yeah, i've listened to Oxygene! Its actually a piece I recognized from earlier days! Nice! I go look up your other recommendations! thanks man!

  • @rogergargantua "zoolookologie"

  • never expected to see that song on MTV

  • jean michel is the best

  • TUUUNEEE!!!!

  • esta cancion es tremendamente fabulosa....

  • now that's a cool effect... could have been done by Gondry 0:25

  • Beautifull music!!!

    Excellent video!!!

  • The 80's was the Jean Michel Jarre top. Afterwards, unfortunatelly, he got lost.

  • I have to agree with you on that. Although he did make some good songs after the 80's, something is clearly missing.

  • the thing that is missing is called "LIFE" and is less and less as we approach the age of darkness. Some of us feel it...(a proof is that Concorde is in a museum now).

  • I totally disagree, he went better and better; "Metamorphosis" is absoluteley outstanding and so is the "Revolutions" album. My favourite song is "Fin De Siecle" from the "Waiting For Couteau" album - the ealier songs are much less complex and suffer from the vintage synthesizers.

  • @robertopinarizzo ná, his music is great yet

  • awsome while playing Gears Of war 2 HAHA :P

  • I have seen him in Glasgow twice he is the master, Most bands perform to a few hundred people, some to thousands, a few to tens of thousands at any one time but only JMJ performs to million.s at a time, He is a genious.

  • Best of JMJ beautifull music.

  • damn my brother used to listen to jarre he still does - and theres one song that is still running in my head for like almost 15 years and i don't know the name how frustrating is that

  • what a great video one of my favorites songs of jarre

  • sounds like video game video........Raiden project?

  • sounds like video game music (and also video) cause videogames drew much inspiration from JMJ's music.

this one in particular is really similar to chris huelsbeck's Turrican II

  • Cool.

  • ajarvine....a person with impecible taste!!

  • STUPENDO

  • A new favorite. I'm becomming more of a JMJ fan.

  • yup new favorite for me too:D

  • these old synths sounds like if they were alive. i rather their sounds

  • Es en vivo en China 1981!

  • Analogue synthesizers rule.

  • Listened to Oxygene when I was about 10 and played them on piano and guitar and they were "great songs". This music was ahead of it's time in the 70's but unfortunately time has passed. With traditional instruments today this is quite boring... These synth sounds are, well, a bit aged. But Oxygene is still on my playlist neck to neck with Tubular bells

  • I've loved this since I was very very young, during travels on the road...

  • mon compositeur prefere!

  • Bah! ...he's ok

  • Awesome stuff!

  • Just my 2 cents, I personally like the "Images" 1991 version of this track. It has a more enduring sound than the 1981 version (especially the squarish sounding pad is really showing age). It is one of the few songs he re-recorded from scratch for the "Images" album, another being Magnetic Fields 2, which got a much more solid arpeggiation and beat. Maybe I like "Images" so much because it was my first Jarre album, I have listened to it literally hundreds of times doing homework, etc. :)

  • Good! Thanks Mark for sharing.

    5*!!! My fav.

    Hugs. Maria Inês.

  • This is good! Thanks Mark for sharing.

  • Nice video!

    J'aime écouter Jean Michel Jarre!

    *.*:)

  • Awesome stuff! I like it!

Gonna open another Krusovice on this one!

Its my fifth already today.. And u know, Krusovice really smacks your head.

If I still can walk after finishing this one, Ill go for a cache hunt on six one five and six three three.

    See you there?

    Cheers!

  • wonderful electronic

  • Jarre is living legend!

  • I love this soooong!!!5*

  • what a beautiful song ;) believe me

  • zjebisty jest!!!

  • Gracias por tus melodias, compocisiones y ambientes que has creado durante años.

  • JMJ is a musical genius. That's the final word on that.

  • he is cool with sunglasses.

  • Yes;)

  • masterpiece. Thanks.

  • I agree, This beats oxygene to be my #1.

  • Everyone thinks Oxygene 4 is his best track, but this is great! Why the hell did he split up with Charlotte Rampling, is he crazy or what???

  • I agree with you. i think part 5,6 and 7 of Equinoxe andf Oxygene 6 is his best tracks. And to answer the second question, i think the Rendez-Voius Houston vid speaks for itself. just check his facial expressions:D

  • My personal favorite (by far) is Equinoxe 5.

  • equinoxe 4 and ethnicolor are by far his best tracks in my opinion

  • dont know for etnicolor but equinoxe 4 is the best for me

  • Oxygene 4 is ok in my book, but in my opinion not his best track ever. Will be the track that he will be remembered by I guess.

I always liked Equinoxe 7 as his best. But Oxygene 5 comes close as a 2nd, I just love the ARP2500 (or was it the 2600?, I keep getting those mixed up)sequence halfway through. In general I think his first 3 albums are the best. Don't really like his later work (past Oxygene 7-13). Too commercial side, I like the experimental, minimalist stuff far better :)

  • @Andypilot333 the reason he split from charlotte rampling is simple, she left him, he would not take time off from his endless quest for new sounds and recordings, the album waiting for coustea was recorded while they were on holiday in the bahamas i think it was, she had enough. all work no joy made jarre a dull boy. it would seem.

  • here too, in 80`s or 90`s tune on TV programs, I think, because I`m no very sure...or radio program....Is fantastic song.....Santy

  • This tune was the back ground of Radio Gaucha, from Porto Alegre, Brazil, in transmissions of Formula 1 in the 80's and 90's.

  • Haha when MTV used to actually play music... Great track this, CiC is definitely one of his best albums.

  • A classic,awesome tune,bit very easy.I like to play it a lot.Retro Synth sound

  • the best keyboard in the world !!!!!!! this song thakes me somewhere dont know where ?

  • THANK YOU! Classic tune

  • muy bueno ese tema!!!!!

    salu2

  • Aww... my all time Jarre favourite (except for Calypso part 1 of course ;)) Used to play this at our community music school recitals - on my "Hohner PSK 30" and my dad's Fisher stereo system. Dude.. those were the days :D

  • WOw! I love that one! I had both albums Oxygen1 and Equinoxe1 I loved them!

  • whoa, is that real music playing on MTV? this video shows its age

  • Timeless.. touching! High on my top-10 list. I dhad a dream the aother night I was at the Shanghai concert.. No the stiff one, so it was Bejing:) They didn´t clap. At all!

  • autentyk: Your dream sounds like when Elton John performed in the USSR. The government had KGB men in the audience to ensure that nobody overeacted like clapping, standing up, whistling or cheering. Elton found it quite unusual to say the least.

  • lol thats weird, i was watching SPACE concert in moscow in 1983, and ppl were rocking out and clapping and shit, and at rock conerts in late 80's too

  • the first tune i heard in 1983 that got me into synths, just blew my mind ,still sounds great even today !!!!

  • high-quality music never dies

  • until it's played on "The View".

  • What is The view?

  • Yea, you know. That show on the telly that promotes women's fascism.

  • You know, the one where Rosie and Elizabeth had that huge argument on the air on the show here in America. Also where Rosie and Donald Trump started making snide remarks about each other. He called her a fat pig and she called him a slum lord and an asshole.

  • brill thank you

  • Maybe Maybe:)

  • Maybe this is a version i never heard then

  • It isnt a cover version, i cant play piano:)

  • I think this video are great even if it's a cover version
