  • For those who are interested in what the music is from 0:13 to 0:25, it is Die Serenade : String Quartet No.17 in F Major Op.3-5, 2nd Movement by Franz Joseph Haydn.

I heard the piece on my Yamaha keyboard, and I contacted them to find out all the details :D

  • the hospital music in carry on doctor is the bvest i think the one were nurses walk down corridors

  • Hattie Jaques should have been a real hospital Matron, Nurses wouldn't be stood about talking with her on the prowl

  • I love this music it's so brilliant! And I think it's so ingenious that the composer made Saint Saens' The Elephant the main theme.

I've started learning Bassoon, which after 2 lessons I can now play grade 2 stuff (being grade 8 clarinet helped), and I really want to play this, as it just makes me laugh! It's so descriptive and characteristic of the Carry On Films, which I love!

  • The girl that babs wndsor is fighting is Olive from on the buse

  • The music is jut so right for marton

  • That little sideways look she does with her eyes when she hears the noise is genius!

  • The power of music!

  • Part of the music - when she walks down the corridor - is from Carnival of the Animals: The Elephant, by Saint-Saens.

  • haha i can believe that!

thats the reason why there would never be such a great comedy group as the carry on's any more: people are far to vein as to pull anything like that off.

  • @bluepheonex1989 another reason is we are far too politically correct nowadays and sadly this type of film would never be allowed to be made.

  • @Scooby71Doo

    spot on mate.

I really am considering a vote for the Nationals next week you know.

the more I see of this pathetic dillusional society, the more I just think stuff it - they cant do any bloody worse than this lot of clowns!

but anyway, thays another topic for another time I guess.

  • @bluepheonex1989 a bunch of trained chimps could do better than this lot. George Orwell`s 1984 has definitely come true under this government. We now have thought crimes and are the most observed nation in the world.

  • Any idea what the Baroque/chamber music part is?

  • You meaning the tune that appears in films such as camping, don't lose your head. The 18th century tune. I know which one you mean but 2 am trying to figure which tune it is

  • All the "girls" look about 30!

  • Kenneth Williams face at the end..bless him

I think that Barbara Windsor is the only one of the Carry On team still alive

  • in this particular clip from the girls is anna karen who who went on to play olive in on the buses.now sometimes turns up in eastenders as peggys mitchels sister.babs mate fanny is sandra caren who used to play mummsy in the crystal maze, she still turns up on the box from time to time.she is actualy the younger sister of the late alma cogan,a famous singer during the 50s/60s...a little bit of trivia for you.

  • One thing I've noticed is that every time I pause a carry on movie while Kenneth Williams is on, his face is always hilarious. That's meant in a good way. (:

And by the way, Jim Dale is also still alive.

  • Ms Haggert, god. That must really help Hattie's real life esteem.

  • Actors just have to be able to deal with it when they are cast as unattractive characters.

  • Even Dr Soaper has his own bit of music!

  • My late auntie was the spitting image of her in looks and her ways

  • lol

  • Poor Hattie. The beautiful woman that she is. Me and my dad watch Carry On Camping till our hearts are content, and to this day we always ask the same question. How did she give Eric Rodgers permission to play music like that when she's walking down the corridor. We especially like the way that as she walks and hears the noise in the room, she opens the door, and the music changes to all sweet innocent little girls music, and then as soon as the door closes, its back to her music.

  • Im not sure about poor hattie at all, As hattie jacques was a bit of a flirt with a number of, off screen afairs while still wed to John Le Mesurier, She was a bit of a goer and not the big frump as she was cast in things like carry ons films or Hancock or Sykes

  • @tigerboytony you know since you've said that, it only just occurred to me how brilliantly composed the sound track for this film is.

I bet you any money you like that this entire scene is a single sequence of music from the same precussion - it really is seamless.

You just dont get that 'hand-crafted' quality in modern films anymore.
