@ManLykStryda99 I don't interpret the lyrics like that ,I see it more as her growing up and letting go of the drama and unrealistic expectations of love that youngsters seem to thrive on.Not a literal goodbye to her friends..she's stating that she doesn't want to view love unrealistically like a kid but wants to join another rank.
