Hmm does this pedal sound good on songs like Pearl Jam's Jeremy?

It can do a pretty good 8-string simulation. Jeremy was done with a 12-string, so it won't sound as full as that, and obviously a real 12-string will have a more natural sound than a digital octave up. In a pinch it should work alright though.

@bryanrtyler 4 String Bass>Micro POG>Boss Bass Chorus (Low Pass Cut)>Amp could be a good alternative to a 8 or even 12 string bass. Of course 8 String>Boss Bass Chorus (Low Pass Cut)> Amp would actually be better for a 12 string bass sound.

A blender pedal is a pedal that allows you to mix in your clean signal with your affected signal. The have an effects loop, and any effect that you'd like to blend with your clean tone goes in the blender's effects loop. The Xotic X-Blender is a great one, as are the blenders from Barge Concepts.
