I think the Desire HD was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. The people app definitely made the phone amazing but I think the keyboard, the bugs in sense 2.1 and a lot of little things have been a bit annoying.
Not that I'd take an iCrap over it. I would miss too many things like multitasking and all the customization and the choices to do what I want with it.
We'll see how Cyanogenmod does for the second year of this phone until I can upgrade to a Samsung phone.
@darkerforest official update in norway.. I did the ordinary over the air manual update search. Since I got automatic search turned off.. You just have to wait if it isn't out in your country.. You may also have it tied to a carrier, this usually delays update more.. Since your carrier want to add somthing to the software..
I have an inspire 4g, which is the American equivelant of the desire hd, and while I like android, I am changing over to the iPhone. The battery life of the inspire is terrible and I like the apps on the iPhone, I love android but the inspire is just not it.
@illKickYourAss999 it obvious that the battery life isn't impressive on desire hd.. Didn't you do the math before you bought it? 1250mah battery/4.3inch screen.. Sometimes android also develop a system error that drains battery. I got the error one time last 1½ year.. I just reset it to factory setting and was back to charging every 16=26hours withheavy use.. Lipo batteris last longer when not drained way down.. I am not afraid of my charger.. Iphone 4s also have terrible battery life..

Many believe desire hd is very outdated.. It's really not.. The same cpu is used in sensation xl, just clocked to 1.5ghz.. When you do that it will use more battery, but it will also run close to htc sensation 1.2 dual core ghz cpu.. The snapdragon scorpion cpu is still very capable.. Android Ice cream sandwich is not out of the question if HTC really want to..

you can't really compare the two phones. It's like compareing a cellphone from 1990 with the galaxy nexus. The Htc desire HD is maybe 6 month older then the iPhone 4...
so i think there is not much sense behind this comparision... the desire pwns the apple shit at everything!

I think the Desire HD was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. The people app definitely made the phone amazing but I think the keyboard, the bugs in sense 2.1 and a lot of little things have been a bit annoying.
Not that I'd take an iCrap over it. I would miss too many things like multitasking and all the customization and the choices to do what I want with it.
We'll see how Cyanogenmod does for the second year of this phone until I can upgrade to a Samsung phone.

@darkerforest official update in norway.. I did the ordinary over the air manual update search. Since I got automatic search turned off.. You just have to wait if it isn't out in your country.. You may also have it tied to a carrier, this usually delays update more.. Since your carrier want to add somthing to the software..

I have an inspire 4g, which is the American equivelant of the desire hd, and while I like android, I am changing over to the iPhone. The battery life of the inspire is terrible and I like the apps on the iPhone, I love android but the inspire is just not it.

@illKickYourAss999 it obvious that the battery life isn't impressive on desire hd.. Didn't you do the math before you bought it? 1250mah battery/4.3inch screen.. Sometimes android also develop a system error that drains battery. I got the error one time last 1½ year.. I just reset it to factory setting and was back to charging every 16=26hours withheavy use.. Lipo batteris last longer when not drained way down.. I am not afraid of my charger.. Iphone 4s also have terrible battery life..

Having not used the iphone only seeing my brothers now and again, i cant say if its better or worse. But i can say HTC fucking rock hot shit. The Iphone4 is over priced. Not just alittle overpriced either. From where im sitting the iphone4 is more astheticaly pleasing, But its what inside that counts so thats the desire. I dont own either but if i had to choose... Desire wud get my vote

Many believe desire hd is very outdated.. It's really not.. The same cpu is used in sensation xl, just clocked to 1.5ghz.. When you do that it will use more battery, but it will also run close to htc sensation 1.2 dual core ghz cpu.. The snapdragon scorpion cpu is still very capable.. Android Ice cream sandwich is not out of the question if HTC really want to..

@ShakeItNo2 Ya HTC releases new phones all the time because no thought is put into the engineering of the device. Apple only needs to put out one a year. I only need one new $1000 phone a year. If the HTC's were built better they would last longer. Anybody can slap together an all plastic device and call it ___part4. HTC,motorola,lg,samsung.... all complete disposable garbage. I know I go through more plastic forks than I do stainless steel forks.

@voltstash Apple releases a phone every year because they don't aim as a brand of mobile phones but as a brand of OS for computers. HTC, Samsung releases mobile phones all the time because they want to satisfy a large range of customers and satisfy their needs without spending 600€ or 800$ to have all features all together when they may need just 1, that's why "sub" mobile phones of the same brand exist, not because they are not able to make one good phone a year.

@itswedvertise Im not sure what you are saying but, Apple has branded themselves a "Mobile Device Company" meaning their profits come almost completely form iPhone and iPod's. Apple is now worth more than some major oil companies because of how many "mobile devices" they sell.

@voltstash That's after the first iPhone, Apple originally was born as a computer brand, most of the people buy iPhone because of one of the first OS for mobile phones with those features (and that good looking UI), they don't need to make many different devices because that one is enough. The other brands have many good reasons to make even 20 different mobile phones a year, and one of those is not because they make bad phones.
