you're always gonna find people puttin'her down...but you know what, -Patti knows it and she doesn't give a shit...Rock and Roll is her art and she lives Rock Culture...some people don't understand Rock, -it's their loss
Do you really know what you are talking about, imbecile? This is rock, not opera. Why do fuck do you even mention Pavarotti? Go and make Placido Domingo sing "God Save the Queen" and see how idiotic was your remark. Love you. Patti Smith is great!
Thank you for your kind words. The idea that I'd never be satisfied with anything because I don't like Patti Smith suggests to me certain cognitive deficiencies And I'm quite sure that Patti Smith ,who loves Rimbaud, would agree that not appreciating her is not a sign of a debilitating aesthetic deficiency. And by the way,was this clip posted with Patti Smith's knowledge and approval? I imagine, nostalgia aside, she'd be embarrassed by it. She should be .
@davidwingate I adore Patti, always have and certainly always will--but she knows she's not everybody's cup o' tea and would have been the first to laugh out loud at the "making Dylan sound like Pavarotti" comment...I remember her saying one of her kids called her "a funny old lady who sings loud songs"; that's how she refers to herself these days; leave it to kids to eradicate any lingering traces of pomposity...:)x

The first three times I saw her perform (including SNL) I thought this was a joke. Pretending to be a singer with a band. Then I realized that she really believed she was a singer.
It was wonderful not only to be able to get Patti's broadsides, books and first 45, and to see her live, but she answered fan mail and appreciated her fans. I saw women going hysterical in tears. By the way, the song LAND is about Joey Land, RIP.
Hello Stella !!! Je n'ai pas le temps de l'écouter maintenant, mais je la mets déjà dans mes favoris ! "Gloria" de Patti Smith est la meilleure que je connaisse !
Real. Done & done.

@fendermac Van Morrison can eat my belt. I'd walk across the street to avoid a VM show.
