I'm an Aussie, and even I love Pietersen. What's more is that my father was born in Pietermaritzburg South Africa just like Kevin, and he left the country for the same reason that Kevin did. He's a top cricketer, and a top bloke. I pulled up a chair and had a beer in great anticipation every time he came on to bat in the recent test series against Pakistan.
one batsman who has everything to be a great player..technique,courage,aggression,skill,nerves of steel. his only problem is that he gets carried away sometimes..still for me..KING KEVIN RULES
He born & grew up in Pitermaritzburg South Africa..Coz his parents was British so he got the place in England.England must thank to South Africa to produce crickter for them.Actually he didnt get chance to play for SA so he went away to England..
I think KP would have been dubbed a superlative batsman in any era; for mine he is good enough to average 50+; that he has not yet consistently achieved this is proof that his potential has not been realised in its entirety. He still makes fundamental errors of judgement that at this stage of his career should be absent; Bill Lawry perhaps correctly suggested that he should bat below Bell. Finally, those roped off boundaries are a true insult to his awesome power & stroke play. Thank you.
Kevin Pietersen played amazing in this innings. Shane Warne has great sportsmanship. 8:25 proves that. I'm sure he will remember those sixes forever lol
What has happened to this guy?? he used to be our best batsmen and now at a time where he should be peaking he seems to have fallen apart?? Ive still got time for him tho and id LOVE to see him get a shed load of runs vs sri lanka
@DAYDREAMER6677 currently pietersen has made 5 runs at 2.50. then you see trott, bell, cook, even prior scoring at over 100, all with centuries to their name, trott a double
i love how lee just got raped after that bouncer. KP just went "na im gonna take you on" and just smacked him for sixes down in that square leg region.
SAY FUCK U AUSSIES FUCK U AUSSIES SAY FUCK U AUSSIES FUCK U AUSSIES PONTING ONLY SKIP EVER TO LOSE 3 ASHES SERIES USELES AUSSIE CHEATING CUNT WELL DONE RICKY 3 IN A ROW BITCH
AM I DREAMING OR HAVE WE REALLY JUST BEAT THEM MOTHERFUCKING CHEATING AUSSIE CUNTS BY AN INNINGS AND 71 SO IN BOTH THERE INNINGS AT HOME THEY CANT EVEN GET CLOSE TO ONE OF OURS SO TO ME THAT MEANS WHERE TWICE AS GOOD BRING THE ASHES HOME BOYS OH SHIT I FORGOT WE ALREADY GOT IT IF YOUR AN AUSSIE YOU CAN SUCK MY MOTHERFUCKING DICK ESPECIALLY DANNI AND KYLIE
Australia have lost their edge, they had intimidating players like Warne, Gilchrist, Mcgrath, Lee, Hayden etc. Now they have little nowbody's in their attack.
@MattA96 WON BY AN INNINGS AND 71. PIETERSON'S A MOTHERFUCKING GENIUS. GOT A DOUBLE TON AND THE VITAL WKT OF MICKY CLARKE WHEN HE WAS STARTING TO GET COMFORATABLE ON 80. I ALWAYS SAID K.P WAS WORLD CLASS. NUMBER 1 IN THE WORLD NOW WITH THE BAT I RECKON ALWAYS HAVE DONE
holy schnitzels how lucky was pietersen at the start of his innings? so many chances to get out, he got the fortune on his side. however he paid back by making a fine 100red
Australia has lost its scare factor i think, If you look at the bowlers they were all legends. Lee,Mcgrath,Warnie. These three were probably the best in the business now they have siddle...johnson.... and whatever that tasmianian guys name is.
How good was that of warnie - clapping his hundred and going up to him after he got out and said good knock...better than most to do that...i wouldnt do that...i know he had some off pitch indescretions but he really is a class act.
@CollingwoodLakersAB NOT THAT GOOD REALLY HE ONLY DID IT COS THEY WAS TEAMATES AT HAMPSHIRE IF IT WAS SRAUSSY OR COOKIE OR COLLINGWOOD HE WOULDN'T OF DONE IT
I completely agree. I've been watching England since 1989. This is the best innings I have seen by an England Player. The context the innings and the sheer balls by which the innings was played. The session after lunch when Brett Lee was bowling was such high risk tactics, but it worked. Beating the Auzzies by bold play, not a usual England Team trait!
It shame that KP is not who he used to be one fo the best bastmen in cricket .Know he just good batsmen. One day he show use old self again.I think In Aussie this year he will show he best. This was amzing by pietersen.Kick some ass kp
He is arrogant, smart, outrageous, glamarous, fascinating, attractive, explosive, graceful, magical, brilliant, fabulous, agressive and rules all the bowlers.
You had everything in this series. One of the finest fast bowling spells I witnessed from Glenn McGrath in Lord's. Taking 5 wickets and more importantly clean bowling top-order English bastmen as if they were club level cricketers. Even by McGrath's lofty standards, that was a special spell!
Freddie at Edgsbaston and Jones at Manchester were outstanding with the ball. I'm not a huge fan of Freddie's batting , but he played some superb knocks too.
The intensity in that series was unbelieveable. I watched all the tests and can't believe it's been 5 years. McGrath, Flintoff, Jones, Lee, Warne, KP, Vaughan, Trescothick -- all on top of their game and you could almost feel their passion through the TV set :-)
One of the best, if not the best, Test series I've had the privilege to see.
And, I think the England team needs to select a first team and stick with it, stop bringing new players in that have bassicly zero skill. (James Andersons Economy over the past bunch of games speaks for its self)
What a shame, he is now not a patch on his former self, constantly out for small totals and always injured. I would drop him from the team, Bopara is playing ALOT better these days.
Is this the innings where Warne had a spell bowling wide and Pietersen kept padding them, like a stalemate situation? I'd like to find that moment, I thought it was this innings
i thought the 2009 series was good but 2005 was phenomenal, close win at trent bridge, 2 run win at edgbaston, gary pratt run out, mgarth against england at lords, the close decisions, solid teams.
Can you please clarify which of these people were born in England and which were not. And then please explain why those born here cannot play for England.
@Englishman786 Thats the nature of our country - we have a huge proportion of immigrants and people of various races and nationalities and this is going to be represented in our cricket team.
I think this was a series that could be put down to one that Australia lost and not England won and it was mainly due to bad captaincy...I think while this was a good english side it certainly wasn't of the same calibre as the Australian team...How many lives does this guy (Peterson) wanna get.. There was one bouncer in this innings that Brett Lee bowled to hime that almost had him bending over backwards onto the stumps..Fully credit to himbut not a great innings in my books.
@damaverick74 clearly, he got let off the hook more times than is normal but you can't say it's not a great innings. scoring 158 in 187 balls in a test match against bowlers like warne and mcgrath? regardless of how many times you get let off, you had to play a brilliant innings to score so highly and so quickly against them.
@sean2088 Yeah I did watch the innings and he made the most of his opportunities for sure (maybe I am frustrated as that was the key innings in the series)..I think Ricky Ponting bowled Brett Lee for too long and thats where it all changed..Scratchy start but then no looking back
KP simply wont be the same player again unless he is hungry enough to win the ashes. It is why he played so well in 2005 against d aussies . BUt know with IPL giving him 1.5 million i doubt he will ever be hungry again
It was an absolutely Amazing series, the close finish at Edgbaston, Ponting saving Australia and salvaging a draw at Old trafford in spite of Vaughan's captain's Innings in the first Innings and Strauss' ton in the second. etc.
