is wicked what this song is really called? becuse i have the diabolus in musica album and its not in here. does it have a diff name mabey??? please help
Album is great, ahead of it's time, modern pattern laid for the future. Just like Metallica's St. Anger very underrated. I like all of Slayer, but this album is a piece of art, pitty they are getting older, hopefully someday another good true band will get together. Great live band indeed
whats the problem here?...all u fukin whiners need to shit the fuck up and go complain elsewhere...drums are fine...Lombardo needed a break...every1 needs to shit every now and then
Love this song. Altough I don't like Slayer. Not because they're bad or something- I appreciate all they've done to develope metal. The thing is I don't like the crazy drum-hitting which doesn't come along with vocals for me. I've just got a very sensitive sense of rhytm. So, I like this song cause it's different than most Slayer's songs. Hope somebody understands me ^^
@hbkShawnMichaels6 All of Bostaph's drumming has great rythm, i love him because he blends the fills so well in. He is a very complex, creative and underrated drummer. Has drastically more skill than any metal drummer there is.
@XXXpallisterXXX I don't negate this fact. Actually, the drums aren't the problem for me. I just don't like the combination of so very fast drumming with equally fast vocals because this makes a sense of chaos to me. This is why I don't like Slayer too much, but songs like Wicked seem great to me.
I love this album and divine intervention, this two cd's were great. Divine had a lot of great lyrics. And was heavy and fast. Diablous had a lot of great lyrics and is probably their heaviest album. Two truly underrated amazing cds.
ths is by far one of their sickest albums made to date. only album you could truly compare soundwise is south of heaven, sick slow sounding thrash metal,
i think they got into the politics a little in the only way slayer can, and it shows more on christ illusion and world painted blood, but the messages are on this album also. but it is ranked my top5 for slayer
Great album, sure it's less thrash and more groove and riff oriented but does that make it any less kick ass? This is still 100% Slayer and it's fucking awesome.
I think this is Slayers best album personally, Its got a really up with the times sound to it songs like Wicked Deaths Head and Stain of mind...awesome plus Arays voice sounds really good on this album
grip inc good also like saying megadeth isnt megadeth bbecause dave mustaine and dave ellfson are only 2 original members dont matter slayer is awsome with or with out lombardo
dave lombardo is the very first drummer of slayer . bostaph joined slayer because dave had some "projects" and that makes him work with other bands like apocalyptica etc.... lombardo returned because paul had an injury or something during the "god hates us all" album touring i think . . correct me if im wrong please
with this album Slayer teaches how Metal must be played to all those posers selfcalled nü metalers. even playing this shitty style they are still evil, agresive and darker than anyone else. And Paul Bostaph is way much more a better drummer than Lombardo. as I see it Slayer took a step back with Bostaph´s departure. and if someone ask Christ Illusion is a worst album than Diabolus because of the lack of complexity in the harmonies and arrangement. the Christ´s cover rules, though =D SLAYEEER!!
whole album gets better the older i get....loved SLaaaaaaYER!!!!!!! since 92. Wasnt a big fan of this or Paul at the time...but the shit rocks. PLEASE SLAYER do another album and come to the southeast please....
i love this album..actually i have them all and i love every song on every fucking album..this song is really cool.and no to the last comment, dave lombardo is the right person for slayer...LONG LIVE THE KINGS..imagine if slayer formed an army..)
whats up with everybody labeling metal, (thrash metal, nu metal, black metal , death metal) fucking hate that shit .anybody notice how these subcategories of this music end in metal? . for fuck sake you people made this into a ¨genre¨.fuck same shit happen to skateboarding . ¨no your tech that shit sux, no dude you skate gnar , no you skate shit tranny¨ METAL iS METAL. SKATEBOARDING is SKATEBOARDING
First of all, what does metal have to do with skateboarding? Second, are you saying all metal sounds the same? Do you think thrash metal sounds the same as progressive? Does progressive sound the same as death metal? Does death metal sound the same as nu metal? Does nu metal sound the same as power metal? No, they don't sound the same at all. They all have their features that make them sound different from one another. If they did all sound the same, I wouldn't hate nu metal with a passion
This album is full on. It might have a song or two that drone on, but hey,you dont junk the whole car because it has one dented fender. If people don't dig it, fukk umm in the mouth.
I love this album, it's dark and sinister...and nothing to do with nu metal! I like their '90 albums; Divine Intervention is like a punch in the mouth and Undisputed Attitude is simply the best tribute to hardcore i ever listened!
If only today they write atmospheric and good songs like this...
One of my favorite Slayer songs. Another example of why Bostaph is so superior to Lombardo.
And the reason why most people "hate" Diabolus is as simple as people haven't really listened to it. As the cowardly, spineless, weak-minded people they are, they swallow everything the metal press and other people tell them. According to some idiots, Slayer incorporated nu-metal elements, which is of course total bullshit. Easily Slayer's most creative album alongside Divine, and also one of their best.
@FlagOfHate I think thre real issue with this album was the fact that..Human Disease, Wicked, Scarstruck and Unguarded Instinct were excluded from this album...all four are good songs and would've beef up the album. Songs like Screaming from the Sky and Desire probably never should've been recorded, especially Desire, King admitted that he doesn't like the song. Clearly this was Slayer's experimental album and ok on it's on. In the Name of God and Stain of Mind are the obvious standouts.
@suoived Sad but true :( i think it would of helped the album with those songs. Personally, i like Desire and Screaming from the sky, but if they replaced those with wicked and a different one, it would of been better, there was some good songs on this album but i think the best 4 would of been the strongest and brought more people to slayer. But weren't put in sadly.
This song is not on American version of DIM. Is this a song released on a European or Japanese version? I've never heard this one before. And thanks for posting it.
It's a shame this album is constantly shunned aside. It's dark, twisted, deranged and sometimes downright psychotic. Two things stand out--Tom's approach to lower-tone vocals than in previous years, favoring actual screams, and Bostaph's insane blasts. This song is a perfect example of it.
i love this album, i dont know why everybody hates it.. maybe because paul bostaph played here, but I love the way he plays. more than lombardo. all of you will hate me because of my comment, but i don't give a shit.
People hate it because it's different. I think it's a really strong album, killer riffs, killer drums, GREAT production, it's growling, it's heavy, it's slow, sludgy, has a doomed atmosphere. And the songs are really good writen, great and complex structures and melodys. It's not thrashy old Slayer, but you cant say it's not a good album; they tried something different... and they did it right. If Araya & co. 'd release it with another band name people would probably worship it.
@kcnirva it's not loved because a lot of metal heads are musically ORTODOX and they cannot accept that some band can evolve in something different ...
the same appened with obituary when they made their best album ( WORLD DEMISE ) , happened to Napalm death with "Diatribes" and generally to every band who left the sure path of repetition ...
@kcnirva I agree with you all the way brother, this is a great album I think it rock's and you are right if this was released under a different name everone would say oh my god did you hear that awsome new song! Good post
@kcnirva no people hate it cuz it doesnt meet there needs for music. i say fuck them u like what u like for ur own reasons everybody else can fuck up a rope. As for SLAYER SHIT HAPPENDS PEOPLE CHANGE PLUS ITS FUCKIN SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!! LISTEN TO THEM TO THE LOUDEST AND ENJOY THE MUSIC FOR FUCK SAKES.
@kcnirva Ye but most old school slayer fans dont slow and sludgy, slayer in the old day was about speed and screaming. I like it all, its all slayer and it all badass.
@theMushroom Me too. I think Diabolus In Musica is in Slayer's top 3. Speaking of Paul Bostaph. I never got why so many so called die hard Slayer fans would trash him so much. I mean it's not like Slayer went out and replaced Lombardo with a drummer that's radically different. To anyone who says Bostaph isn't as good as Lombardo go listen to such tracks as ''killing fields'' from Divine intervention and then tell me he's inferior.
@theMushroom I think this album was amazing, I think Bostaph is EXTREMELY Talented, but people disliked him because his style was different from Lombardo, If you listen to Point, it's very intricate, where you look at War Ensemble and it's completely different, don't get me wrong i LOVE Season In the Abyss, it was the first Slayer record i have ever listened to. Every Slayer album is complete different from the one before, after Reign in Blood, Show no Mercy, Seasons was COMPLETELY different
@theMushroom dude i agree, i mean, this is my least favorite slayer album BUT slayers album are like my children, I LOVE THEM ALL!! idk dude, divine intervention is always blasted, this and DI are the most hated which is bullshit, this and that are amazing albums, n i agree, probably does have to do with paul bostaph...hes a great drummer too!! lol
@theMushroom Paul and Dave are both drum gods, but have a very different style. Wouldnt dare to say who's better. I personally like Pauls touch on Slayer. Just as much as I love old school Slayer. No need to chose between both.
@theMushroom no dude, i don't hate you, i love Bostaph's style; when i unleash divine inetrvention& diabolus in musica through my amplifier's speakers i enjoy his drumming like if im enjoying a french old fine red wine( hey im muslim and i don't drink wine&alcohol but you get my point, don't you?
@theMushroom i gave u thumbs up cuz you're theMushroom. This album's BAAAD! Every slayer album is wicked. The only track of theirs I didn't care for was their cover of " Born to Be Wild" which i feel lacked double bass and overall edge. who else feels the same?!?!?!?!?!?
i agree, i dont think its shitty, cuz it does have a really good song i like, In The Name of God, and this one, but i do agree that its their worst album
it's not a bad album , not their greatest though ... but Im tired of people who can cope with the fact that people , including bands can evolve ... is music gonna be like a looping spiral with people always whining about how great things from the past are ? I mean trash metal has been around for a long time ... what if we kept the good parts , but made it exciting and new again ?what's wrong with doing something you're not expected to do ? who wants to become a caricature ?
this is my absolute favorite slayer song, the solo is sick. this song only comes out in the japanese version i believe, or the digipack i forgot which but its not in the official us release, its a shame too alot of people missed out on this track
Why are people saying this wasn't on Diabolus? It was on MY Diabolus, and i'm glad it was because it's the best track on this album. Which is Slayer's best work by far. Bostaph totally owns Lombardo. His drum sound on this album is the best drum sound i've ever heard. Kick ass drums on every track. Overt enemy is my other fav.
this hella sounds like nu metal. its okay but nothing like show no mercy-seasons in the abyss. i think that christ illusions and god hates us all is better than this
Yes, this was not released on Diabolus, but was available later in the boxset as a domestic release. Though not on Diabolus, it was recorded during the Diabolus sessions.

Hello metalheads!
Instead of a Metal rebellion i propose a new plan.
1. Don't bash other metal artists, we must unite! We cant fight against pop music if we arent even together
2. Watch more and more metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vid list
If u like this idea thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and also spread it around if you like this idea
Lets show that metal kicks ass!
Copy this text in every Metalvideo you watch and we´re getting the power

@theMushroom Paul and Dave are both drum gods, but have a very different style. Wouldnt dare to say who's better. I personally like Pauls touch on Slayer. Just as much as I love old school Slayer. No need to chose between both.
kcnirva 6 months ago
@theMushroom no dude, i don't hate you, i love Bostaph's style; when i unleash divine inetrvention& diabolus in musica through my amplifier's speakers i enjoy his drumming like if im enjoying a french old fine red wine( hey im muslim and i don't drink wine&alcohol but you get my point, don't you?
anahowana 5 months ago
@theMushroom i gave u thumbs up cuz you're theMushroom. This album's BAAAD! Every slayer album is wicked. The only track of theirs I didn't care for was their cover of " Born to Be Wild" which i feel lacked double bass and overall edge. who else feels the same?!?!?!?!?!?
Erasercannon 5 months ago
@theMushroom HEY MAN,PAUL IS THE SHIT.I LIKE HIM BETTER THAN DAVE.

This song is only in the japanese versión, whit other song titled "Unguarded Instinct".
Is the worst Slayer album, with two good songs, "Bitter Peace and "Scrum".

i like the vocal harmony, also how one of the vox is using distortion... don't hear that too often

I quite like this. It's a bit different.
I was always led to believe this was Slayer's shitest album. I reckon its good.
audiodead 2 years ago 2
i agree, i dont think its shitty, cuz it does have a really good song i like, In The Name of God, and this one, but i do agree that its their worst album
BobetoSlim 2 years ago
it's not a bad album , not their greatest though ... but Im tired of people who can cope with the fact that people , including bands can evolve ... is music gonna be like a looping spiral with people always whining about how great things from the past are ? I mean trash metal has been around for a long time ... what if we kept the good parts , but made it exciting and new again ?what's wrong with doing something you're not expected to do ? who wants to become a caricature ?

this is my absolute favorite slayer song, the solo is sick. this song only comes out in the japanese version i believe, or the digipack i forgot which but its not in the official us release, its a shame too alot of people missed out on this track
blahness666 2 years ago
Why are people saying this wasn't on Diabolus? It was on MY Diabolus, and i'm glad it was because it's the best track on this album. Which is Slayer's best work by far. Bostaph totally owns Lombardo. His drum sound on this album is the best drum sound i've ever heard. Kick ass drums on every track. Overt enemy is my other fav.

i agree with you. a bunch of shitheads say this is slayers worst albums, they dont know what the fuck theyre talkin about
viper909909 2 years ago 2
Hell yeah!!
locust7777 2 years ago
It's not on my Diabolus. I think it's only on certain versions. Not on the common U.S. version from 1998.

Yes, this was not released on Diabolus, but was available later in the boxset as a domestic release. Though not on Diabolus, it was recorded during the Diabolus sessions.
