I was Katy's aunt (Katy Song)

She passed away in early 2003.

She lived with Mark for several years and as soon as he got a little fame dumped her.

I've often wondered if her illness began at that point because he made her mostly miserable. One can tell from his lyrics he was/is ever so self absorbed. The family wondered what Katy saw in this dismal creature, yes talented, though he didn't treat her very well.

A beautiful song though not easy seeing him cashing in on our loved one.

I always figured it was the other way round from his lyrics. That he was deeply in love with this girl who at some point couldn't deal with Mark's problems anymore.

I didn't know about Katy, sorry to hear that, but cashing in ? it's not like RHP became very popular or made huge amounts of money, and drawing inspiration from someone is very different from 'using' them to make money.
