GRIZZLY BEARS DON' T NORMALLY GROW 18 FEET HIGH. FUNNY, THIS MOVIE WAS FILMED IN THE GEORGIA WILDERNESS WHERE NO GRIZZLY BEARS ROAM. YOU CAN FIND GRIZZLY BEARS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND MANY PARTS OF SOUTHERN WESTERN CANADA.
What the fuck. Really, dude? Come on, it's a fucking monster movie.
You don't watch Night of the Living Dead and point out that after brain death, any life in corpses, much less moving and eating, is no longer possible, do you?
Like everything else about the film, the music imitates "Jaws," which likewise switched between horror and adventure themes; the "adventure" theme gets the credit sequence because the director loved helicopters (unfortunately a bit too much, as he died in a chopper crash scouting filming locations).
This is one of my favorite themes. There was an LD released which you MIGHT be able to find a MP3 rip of online; it includes the almost-Disneyesque SONG version of the theme!
@Jac2Mac It featured the Film Ventures Int'l logo, which was Grizzly's domestic distributor for the US and Canada. Columbia Pictures actually distributed the film worldwide in 1976. I'm not sure why the special edition DVD version of Grizzly has the Paramount logo on it, as to the best of my knowledge, they had nothing to do with the distribution of Grizzly.
Movies don't have to be blockbusters to be entertaining. Granted, some of the supporting actors acting is "iffy", but I love this movie just the same. Lots of suspense, and action.
Always considered this the best of the "Jaws" rip-offs. Cheap effects but it still works, and William Girdler might have had a lengthy career had he not been killed in an accident just before the release of his next film, "The Manitou".
Oh nostalgia...!! from a time when the U.S.A was still 'The' U.S.A...

Not really. It fits the mood of the movie quite well, I think.

Christopher George, Andrew Prine and Richard Jaeckel three of the hardest hitters since Dean, Frank and Sammy.

Did the movie Grizzly when it was first released feature the Paramount Blue Mountain logo or is that a logo plaster?

Film should have been called "Claws," as in a bear version of Jaws. Eco sypathizer mumbo-jumbo and evil money grubbing industrialists.

Love the not PC opening scene with the rangers - no sexual tension there... who gets to screw her today? 3 way maybe??
