  • :D the camera man is having a workout just by videoing this shit :D

  • why is the camera man jacking off?

  • Out of curiosity, what if I have quick reaction time and extremely powerful legs, could I not just stomp down and put you in position for an odd slam face first sprawl like maneuver ?

  • @Juggalo23Klown Personally, i think that this is a very low percentage move. there's too much unclosed distance and you'd need to have a very fast powerful body to pull in that leg. Like you said, they'd probably sprawl and drive your head to the mat before you even get there.

  • @jojojaykay My coach is an MMA fighter hes on youtube somewhere I believe. He agrees, this move is rather mundane due to the work just to end up with someone landing on their stomach not even letting you get on top for a proper frontal mount :-\. Let alone the fact that as you have their leg chances are (if you can get your body wrapped around it) they will just bear hug mid torso and end you in some nasty fall.

  • @Juggalo23Klown Are you joking?? Surely you are not serious. If you are serious here is a tip for you and your coach. When someone falls on their stomach you should take their back. Arguably the most dominant position in jitz or MMA.

  • @jojojaykay You are wrong. This is a great move. It doesnt work if its the only thing you are going for like most moves. It is great if you are trying to run the pipe and your opponent has good balance, If you quickly switch to this they will land on their face more often than not. Dont say stupid things like "if they sprawl... yada yada yada." Yes if they sprawl you do something other than this. If you are good, and actually get the single, this is how you finish.

  • @TheStack100 First of all, some respect in that reply would have been greatly appreciated. Second of all, this was solely a discussion between juggalo23klown and I. Stay out of it.

  • fucking darth vader is holding the camera

  • @dirt1265

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • This one is more suitable than running the pipe cause on this one you finish behind him. Runnin the pipe is harder for the oponent to go down if they got good balance and they land on their butts

  • wrestiling is fun but i hate the conditioning

  • nice technique u like plank better than running the pipe

  • i prefer knockouts... thats just me.

  • i prefer lifting a dude 6 ft an slaming him head first on the ground ... thats just me lol

  • @AddictingVirus I prefer being an internet tough guy... that's just me

  • @lhllfptt I prefer being with the girl hold. that's just me.

  • just would like to point out that many pro wrestlers say the double leg is their favorite takedown. i heard dan gable say that just because they're expecting it, doesnt mean they can stop it if its executed correctly

  • perfect example... GEORGE ST. PIERRE !!!

  • @chillxX33 what the fuck does that have to do with grapling you fuckin back water red neck son of a bitch

  • @THEPIELORD42 the funny thing is u cock sucking bitch is that im black wow dont u feel smart

  • double legs rule..

  • not if your in 215 or eavyweight devision

  • this is an okay takedown but as a 215 pd wrestler i prefer double leg takedown. if you have enough momentum and power behind it there less reversals than single leg.

  • alot of 215's arent too versitle in there takedowns, double legs are too common, and its what everyone is usually expecting....i prefer to do a wider range of takedowns

  • i'll have to dissagree what if your 205 pounds n the other guy is 215, i'd go for a single leg takedown becasue he has a weight advantage and can use it on you.

not saying anything because double leg takedowns r good, this is just my opinion :)

  • for the guys that are thinking that a flying knee would work, check out Lesnar vs Mir 2. Mir landed that knee, immediately got taken down and got pummeled

    case closed

  • that doesnt close any cases

  • that was one time, you can't just say it doesn't work because one time it doesn't work against a big gorilla

  • ok, he's a big gorilla. but if you give both knees to an opponent, you're clearly giving your opponent a double leg takedown which is the most effective takedown maneuvre. Plus the fact that you have both feet off the ground negates any driving force/knockout power that that knee might have. Mir landed that knee about as flush and as with as much power as he could.

Your position and your base are vitally important in MMA. Without them you have no power or leverage.

    case closed

  • Looks good to me, and I'm a wrestling coach. There are so many single leg take downs in our sport but this one looks as clean and as effective as any of them. Good vid!

  • ur opponent would have to be blind and turtle slow not to block that takedown or counter it

  • in a fight i would of gave u a knee to the face so mma wouldnt work with this

  • A) Someone doing a flying knee when you're holding on to his other leg is an automatic takedown for you which isn't a bad thing.

    B) A flying knee in that case would do little damage.

    C) If one arm is wrapped around one leg and the other is pressed on the front of the other leg, good luck landing a flying knee.

    D) If you mean a knee before the initial grab, I think it is understood that good timing would be advised.

  • I'm a tad confused by all the comments like, "That' s all well and good for a wrestling match, but bend over like that in a real fight and you'll get your nose driven into your skull by a knee. "

    when

The title says, "...for wrestling, bjj, and grappling"

  • And even if it were a street fight, look at the position the guy who's getting taken down is in. He's hopping on one leg. If you even ATTEMPTED to go for a knee you'd fall flat on your back. If you were able to land that knee at all, it wouldn't have enough upward force to effectively break the hold.

And as if that's not enough, this takedown takes place within a couple seconds. The instructor was going half speed to show you the mechanics of the takedown.

  • i was just thinking the same thing.

  • not effective against an experienced fighter.

  • shut up bizzman obviously you watch a lot of video and do no training or you would just shut the f up. Moron. This guy knows more about real fighting than you know about breathing.

  • To Bizzman22's comment: I love when people say things like this, obviously hes never been on the other end of a decent takedown. Does he really think it happens that slow and telegraphed?

  • That' s all well and good for a wrestling match, but bend over like that in a real fight and you'll get your nose driven into your skull by a knee.

  • If you like this approach consider putting him into the fire mans carry and then dropping him, forget the name of the take down but u put him on your shoulders and drop him

  • That's what it was, went to wrestling camp over the summer and I forgot half the moves that they showed me...

  • haha

  • very nice

  • Nice vid! Thanks!
