  • "GET A HAIRCUT!"

  • Yeah sorta like swan lake but with swines

  • Poor SAM and YES R.I.P. Rudolf one of the last GREAT, TRULY talented, genious's of our time.

  • FYI to all, the opera love duet is actually from Mozart's Don Giovanni (first act).

  • I love the Don Giovanni part with Hogthrob and Piggy

  • haha, poor Sam will never catch a break, will he?

One of my favourite Muppets, along with Gonzo and Rizzo.

Though Rizzo won't make an appearance until the third season, right?

  • I heard that after Rudey appeared on the show people were asking to become guest stars more frequently. Is that true?

  • @NaiTaiDai

That's true. Before Nureyev, the previous guests were there mostly because they owed someone a favor or something.

  • @rachlouise3: Or through personal connections (ex: the Bergens [Candice & Edgar with Charlie and Mortimer]).

  • RIP Rudolf Nureyev 1938-1993

  • I really feel sorry for Sam in this episode. He's REALLY having a bad day here.

Sam: "Yes! Culture! Diginity at last! Uh.. SWINE LAKE??!!"

  • OMG look at this flowery decoration, it's so BEAUTIFUL!! *o*

  • Oops I mean his reactions to everything r hilarious :)

  • @jeffreysnydr same, I always wondered why Sam never quit, but his reactions to everything r

  • Rudolf Nureyev was a ballet dancer...

  • Wow! Rudolf Nurejew! He was a Star!

  • Rodolf looked like a confederate soldier when he arrived.

  • Floyd: Animals not gonna make it man.

    Dr Teeth: He's gonna freak

Floyd: If he freaks, I'm going with him

    Animal freaks out

Dr Teeth: It's a freak out!

    Classic!

  • "Get out of here, you freak, you hippie, you weirdo!

Who do these punk kids think they are?"

"That one thinks he's Rudolf Nureyev."

  • LOL at Link and Piggy fighting during an opera number.

  • Why doesn't Kermit just FIRE Sam?

  • @razorramone63139 Come on that in Kermit's instings and besize Sam the one like the thing the U.S.A, way.

    Understand?

  • @razorramone63139 Then the show would not be the same.

  • @razorramone63139 He was a foil for the show, kind of like Graham Chapman's colonel character on Monty Python.

  • @razorramone63139 I don't think he'd go away. Besides, he's too funny to fire. ^^

  • awesome! Nureyev and "la ci darem la mano" in the same show. I always knew the Muppets were amazing!

  • But we didn't get to see Swine Lake. I was so looking forward to it.

    Blubbering whales!

  • How many YouTubers think that Rudolf and Freddie Mercury of Queen make a handsome 'couple?'

  • had they been closer in age they would have been at it.

  • Lol, Der Barber De Derflatermoose. By Giuseppe Wagner.

  • haha

I love the electric mayhem's versionog minuet in G major.

and in the zero mostel episode they do one by Chopin XD

  • This is Plan FUNNY! Sam is so into culture and stuff lol and its so bad haha! poor guy thinks Rudolf Nureyev i like the most not so odd guy that he makes every one be so culture like haha! He even kicks Rudolf out not knowing it was him!

  • One of my favorite opera duet...by muppets. LOVE it.

  • You know I heard that The Muppet Show got a regular cast of celebrity guest stars after this episode.

  • That's true. It's posted on the muppet wiki for this episode.

  • robin is too cute

  • Sam must be REALLY excited about him, huh?

  • Your hat's too big.

  • Don't you love how Link just shoves and smacks Piggy with his shield? Probably one of the few times he's gotten away with abusing her without getting Karate Chopped.

  • Were is video of Makarova and Nureyev?

  • I LOVE their version of a Minuet in G Major! Jammin'

  • rofl swine lake....

  • lol kermit was wrong, that was mozart and it was from the marrigae of figgoro

  • Actually it was from Don Giovanni.

  • I search Natalia Makarovoj's for address. Help me, please.

  • Long live Electric Mayhem!

  • Best epoisode!))

  • @ohjohny i'm sorry but im afraid i have to disagree..... this is NOT the best episode!!!!!!!

  • @ohjohny That may be quite true, ohjohny. You see, before this episode aired- it was rather hard for the Jim Henson crew to find guest stars for the show. When they did get someone it was usualy through personal links with those celebrities, and huge pay checks to them afterwards. Once the world-famous ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev made an appearance on the show, from then on it was MUCH easier to get guest stars. All they had to do was ask, and it wasn't that expensive.

  • This is soo damned funny!!!! I love this.

  • Sam is a poser. Thinking Rudolf is an opera singer.

  • He does it again with other people. Still, "Six of one, half dozen the other. Culture is culture."

  • @ReevaInari just goes to show that he isn't qualified to judge what's culture and what isn't.

  • @ReevaInari Brian Henson said Rudoff Nureyev was a great dancer in History but I thought He was a opera singer.

  • Sam is a poser. Thinking Rudolf is an opera singer.

  • "On this weird sick program. Did you wash your flippers?"

  • I love it when Sam is tormented, and he really suffers in this episode. Thanks for posting it.

  • Whoever this "Giuseppe Wagner" is should be sued for so blatantly plagiarizing Don Giovanni and dressing the characters up in viking costumes.

  • I think the song with the two Pigs is actually something by Mozart, Don Giovanni. Don't ask me why they mention Wagner.

  • I think it's a running gag, maybe? Getting all the "cultur'l stuff mixed up and stuff" - Verdi, Rossini, Strauss, Wagner, Mozart [Le Nozze, btw., not DG], Opera/Ballet etc.

  • do you know "the lumberjacksong" from monthy pithon? allmost same melody.

but it is from Don Giovanni: "Là ci darem la mano"

  • Btw, Tchaikowsky also never composed the Swine-Lake XD

  • he did. it is called: "lebedinoje osero" in russian. it was showed for the first time 1877 in moskau.

  • Guess u mean the Swan-lake :)

  • haha, didn't noticed the i ind swine-lake! sorry, is too long ago, that i saw this episode.

i love the crossreferences of this show!

  • Aww, poor Sam! Did anyone think that Rudolf Nureyev's pants look rather tight for a children's show? I also thought that Dr. Teeth's arms are too long for his body?

  • 1- this is not a children's show. 2- he's a ballet dancer, dur tight pants come with the job. 3- Dr. Teeth's arms are always like that- he's a freaking puppet. Dur.

  • How come everybody announcing that the Muppet show isn't a childrens show?

Is that just because it had the bandwidth to enatertain adults too?

  • It's because Jim Henson himself stated that he designed the show for adults.

  • @Kitchenwitch83 Come on that a little lie and besize the Muppet show was a family show.

  • @collgoff: a vaudevillian variety show originally meant for teens & grown ups, but entertaining & lighthearted enough for kids to enjoy as well

  • The thing with Teeth's arms were done on purpose so Henson could work the Dr Teeth puppet while another performer worked the arms.

  • Can Post The muppet Show With Mark Hamil Please

  • That was a 4th season episode. He can only

post episodes from the first two seasons

because he has the DVDs and those are the

only two seasons that have been released on

    DVD so far.
