I would have to agree with Sege123. Afghanistan was not a part of India. Kushans and similar kings who followed Buddhism made those statutes. the virtual dance was practised by many poets and mystics such as Rumi who was born in afghanistan & took it to the far reaches of Turkey and kings such as Mohammad Jallaludin Akbar who took it to india. this dance is usually performed to a Daria(afghan Frame Drum) or the Dhol(double sided drum). the dance can be anywhere from 5 min. to 30 min. long.

first off, the only reason why india HAD(Past Tense) this dance was because mohammad jallaludin akbar badsha(king) was an afghan/paki ruler who ruled some part of india and took the clothing and dance with him there. he than built the Taj Mahal. indians were NOT Muslim, they were Buddist. after he left, they went back to being buddist. yes there are alot of muslims there but only cause of Badsha(King) Akbar. now when people hearthe name Taj Mahal they think indian. The name of the movie is Jodha Akbar. India had a strong influence of the Turks when the Mugals setled in the north of India. Akbar was a name given to the emperor by the people . Akbar was the first indian born Mugal ruler who is respected highly because he was a honest guy who encouraged people to practice their religions. In new delhi, capital of India, the turks build a tall victory tower and its called Qutab Minar.Qutub Minar is the world's tallest brick minaret.Construction commenced in 1193 under the orders of India's first Muslim ruler Qutb-ud-din Aibak(a turk), and the topmost storey of the minaret was completed in 1386 by Firuz Shah Tughluq(a turk).Lots&lots of words in present day hindi lang are from Turkish(ex:hawa)
