I saw this same exact thing in North Carolina on that same date, at the beach, around 8:05 p.m. It was just 1000 feet up from where we were sitting. I quickly picked up my binoculars and saw headlights coming out of the light. It was awesome, but it only lasted for about 8-10 seconds, and it went off like a light switch. It was a very clear night too.

The rocket was not "hovering". What people thought was "hovering" was the fourth stage of the rocket igniting differently then they normally do so it would spread particulate matter in a form that makes it easier to study. Or ALIENS

while their government doesn't tell them much, this time it looks like and easy identifcation since the pictures match the video of the rocket, its a spectacular amount of stuff that comes out from it because the rocket isn't visible at that point.

That rocket photo looked nothing like the photo taken from that night. I filmed something that night as well that looks nothing like a rocket. NASA cover up.

What you taped was an aircraft, but you are right - it had nothing to do with this launch.

There's no "NASA cover up", it was a launch announced AHEAD of time, and I have seen and recorded many of these experiments in the past.

You can't blame people for being misled, though, when the local news treats routine things like this as a "paranormal" event with X-Files background music, and spends more time on Paris Hilton's sexcapades than it does on educating people about science & technology.

I live in Montreal, Canada , I was on the roof of a house to watch the space station. This light was in the opposite direction.

The witness clearly stated it remained in on position for a while and then shot off extremely fast. If this is true, then it couldn't have been a rocket. I've seen how these look when they go up, and they don't remain in one position for a while and then vanish quickly. For NASA to be telling the truth the witness must be lying. So once again, someone is lying. It's too bad no one took a clear video of this event.

I saw this. Maybe my viewpoint and location made this impossible, but I did NOT see this shoot off extremely fast. It did, however, hover in the air for well over 30 seconds. It then just faded into the sky, disappeared.

It's amazing to see, how all these uneducated exo-ufoistic crackpots speculate utter nonsense, although NASA clearly informed the general public, what it was. The hot exhaust gases of a rocket engine form a cone. If a rocket passes high altitude clouds during nighttime, then i) parts of the plasma can and will remain longer at high temperatures since thermal capacity of water is magnitudes higher than of (thin) air, ii) the rocket plume can and does suddenly disappear in the cloud itself.
