  • Hard to tell because the quality is so shitty, but isn't that Bill Nye on the left? I always hated this commercial.

  • Brings back lots of memories.

  • I'm sure that about 50 % people here hate crab legs :D

  • OMG, I have tears rolling, this is some funny shit!

  • Are there any more of these spots on here? I know Steve Somer (promotion guru) showed one of these at a promotion convention I attended "back in the day"

  • Are there any more of these spots on here?

  • I'm Dungeness Crab in this series of commercials. I can't believe it's been almost 30 years. I remember we filmed late at night on this, the 1st in the series (filmed in mid-Dec '80). We had a blast and never imagined they would be so popular. The cast and crew were all fantastic on all the multiple commercials. We did print ads, radio voice-overs, Sea Fair parade & personal appearances at award shows. It was hard to walk in the flippers! What a treat to know they're preserved.

  • I started the FB page for SG in Spokane, I am no longer on there. Is it still up even if I cancelled???HHhhhmm, if go....get on there Spokane people!

  • Ha haaaaa!!! Classic, I remember this when I was little. Loved that place!

  • This spot was directed by the great Tom MacNeal of Northstar Productions in Seattle. Shot by Kip Anderson. I saw this spot and hired them both to do many NBC Sports promotional spots in 1980's and '90's. They won a National Sport Emmy for Cinematography for their opening film for the League Championship Series. They are two of the finest (and funniest) creatives I ever had the pleasure of working with.

  • Thanks for adding this insight to the post. This commercial is a classic and I am sure these guys produced a lot of great work.

  • @shipship finniest?

    (sorry :)

  • I grew up in Seattle area and totally remember this commercial. We drove past a Sea Galley in Yakima today on a road trip and I started singing the song, my hubby thought it was hilarious and about died watching this video. Thanks for posting lol!!

  • Cult classic--that's for sure! I applied for my first job there and Plush Pippin across the street in University Place (Tacoma). Got the job at the Plush, but had a great date once at Sea Galley! Love it!

  • my dad is King Crab :)

  • I had to share this commercial with my East Coast husband, after a reference on Deadliest Catch that I found hilarious, and he didn't get. I don't even remember the restaurant, but I can still sing the song!

  • Thanks for the memories...it's been at least 20+ years since we would drive down to Bellingham Washington for a crab leg feast. Still remember all the words!!

  • They used to have a Sea Galley here in Denver, CO. This song is permanently etched into my memory.

  • Oh the memories. I believe there was one in Bremerton, WA. I still can't get that song out of my head after all these years!

  • I have a Sea Galley commercial from 1988. I will be uploading it to You Tube soon. I love these commercials!!

  • It's been over 25 years since I last saw this commercial, but I've always remembered it. I ate at Red Lobster tonight and thought of it, and what a surprise to see it on You Tube!

  • Still a Sea Galley in Yakima WA. It Rocks

  • Not the best quality but hey cool this video is up on here

My dad used to work there too

  • I am so happy to be able to show this commercial to my Wisconsin bred husband and children for they have suffered with me singing the crazy crab leg song for years and years and years. It's like I get to prove to them that I didn't make up the silly crab leg song myself.

    Thank you, bebeya!

  • OMG!!! THis kills me. I worked for Sea Galley for 8 years. It was my first job and I was there until the shut their doors. It was sad and I love their food. I wish I could still have some. I even work those crab legs one night when there was a hockey game across the street! I will never forget Sea Galley!!

  • I worked there to in the mid 1980s the Portland area.

  • I worked from 1989 to, I think 1995, I don't remember. Worked at the Spokane, Wa location.

  • I wore the crab legs last year for a car race in town. I handed out coupons.

  • hey there is a new facebook page coworkers and friends from Sea Galley in Spokane- I started in Walla Walla and then worked 4 years in Spokane-88-92 or 93 Christopher Gardner find me on facebook

  • Classic. You guys are right on with this and the Ranier commercials! Don Landon Sucks.

  • My 12 year old daughter got a kick out of it when I sang it to her. Thanks for posting it so she knew that I wasn't crazy and making it up!

  • this and the rainier beer motorcycle commercial are 2 of my most vivid childhood memories. so nice to see this one again!

  • Another series of commericals I'd like to see would be the Olympia Beer commericals, and the old codger talking about the Artesians, "I seen 'em!"

  • YES!!! It's good to see some of the old commercials from when I was a kid. Nothing like growing up in Washington to warp you permanently.

  • Hahaha I can't believe this is on here.

There is only one Sea Galley left in the United States, and my dad owns it. It's in Yakima, Washington. I work there every day doing janitorial and bussing. He still runs this commercial sometimes locally.

It's cool to see someone remembered it.

  • I've been to that Sea Galley, and it is WONDERFUL! My brother and I really miss having them in the Seattle area. I hope your dad is making big money from it!

  • I went to that one about 6 years ago. It was like there was a time freeze and the menu was the same as when the others closed.

  • Actually, there are 2 Sea Galley left in the US: 1 in Yakima, WA, and the other in Anchorage, Alaska. I hope to eat at the one in Yakima soon!

  • YEAH IM GOING THERE TOMORROW!

  • Oh my god!!! Sea Galley and Rainier Beer commercials and Chip Hanour at Sea Fair, Thats what made Seattle great!!!
