Bothe have exactly the same picture quality because they have the same CMOS sensors and lens. So if you want a shouldercamera then choose the HVRS270, else choose the HVRZ7.
@cubeproduktion HVR-S270U is heavy, if you want to be more mobile, then choose HVR-Z7 (S270U basic is about 16 pounds, when I get my wireless receiver it should be 17 or 18 pounds total, but has great video, YOU TUBE: danny46809)
