I'm just curious onto why most Christians ate pork specially Roman Catholics, Protestants & other religious sectors. I ate pork because i treat pork as food and that's it but i never eat alligators, snakes, cats or any animals that ate other animals for food. The hadeeth referred to by the questioner is a saheeh hadeeth, in which it says that some people came to Madeenah and fell sick. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told them to drink the milk and urine of camels, and they recovered and grew fat. In the story it also says that they apostatized and killed the camel-herder, then the Muslims caught them and executed them. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2855) and Muslim (1671).

This is an argument for regulation of the food production not the removal of the food item from our menu. It is ridiculous to think God cares what animals we eat. This is very clearly a rule made up to protect the desert dwelling worshipers where there would be real issues with eating pork in a bronze age society. A reasonable rule for the time became gods law when written in a book. This rule does not make sense anymore and so most Christians and many Muslims ignore it.

I'm just curious onto why most Christians ate pork specially Roman Catholics, Protestants & other religious sectors. I ate pork because i treat pork as food and that's it but i never eat alligators, snakes, cats or any animals that ate other animals for food. Pigs nowadays are farmed properly and closely monitored for any diseases. During the Old Testament, there were no proper farming for pigs, cures or antidotes that's why they were considered filthy and forbidden .

on how this is to be done. God told Moses and Aaron which animals they
can/can't eat in a sacred place when they are to sacrifice animals, then eat their portions before God.Sacrifices are to be divided between God, the priest,and the one offered, in some cases the entire sacrifice is a single portion to God, burnt to ashes. they do this to purify themselves.It didnt mention that pigs cant be eaten in a regular basis.

I dont understand why people make a big fuss about eating pork.There are plenty of food on earth,just eat whatever permissable.Pigs are as an example as the the greedy people lived on earth,there's a great similiarity between them.

i believe that Pork is forbidden by torah and Qur'an because when Israelites conquered Canaanites they saw pigs eating flesh of the dead or maybe Egyptians were feeding dead slaves to Pigs same case with Muslims when they were conquering Europe they saw Pigs eating flesh of the dead and thats what made Pork unclean!

When the bible was written, people didn't know enough to understand why people who ate pork were getting sick, they were only able to determine that pork was the common denominator. Therefore, it was wise and practical to label it "unclean". To get uninformed people to go along with this, they said "because god says so." Today, we understand the cause of those ancient problems and how to prevent them - how to make pork "clean". Problem solved, time to update the Bible with what we've learned.
