  • I need to play this again, only this time I won't cheat and use energy transfer to peak into my deck.

  • I still have this game. In a real, honest-to-goodness cartridge!

  • DL somewhere perhaps? please?

  • What's going on your triangle? It looks like you're repeatedly alternating speeds. Weird.

  • @KazberryKrunch Rational tempo.

  • Oh man, this took me back...my parents confiscated my GBC caused I got obsessed with playing this game. I just recently went back to try to play it and got my ass handed to me by every damn NPC, even the energy guy! How I beat that game as a seven year-old, I'll never know...anyway, thanks for that nostalgia! Superb job reproducing that iconic theme.

  • YESSSS

    YYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • do you know of any Famitracker tutorials or anything you'd recommend? I'd really like to get into this myself

  • So... are you going to release this?

  • 2 hours?!?! You must be pretty damn proficient in the software then! Nice, wish I could whack out songs that quickly...

  • I listen to this video to get pumped up for something. Excellent cover.

  • As a noob who has only succeeded in making a Famitracker remake through your tutorial, you think you can give some tips on instrument creation for it?

  • Can you give a link to the program you used?

  • I only detected one 'off' note @ 1:31.

No matter, this was an excellent project. This is probably the greatest obscure Pokemon theme out there.

  • You could make this even more accurate if you used the latest FamiTracker BETA, which has support for a freeform wave channel using the Nintendo FDS sound chip expansion

  • This reproduction is spot on. Kudos, Dan!

I was curious, just how similar are the sound channels on the NES and the GB?

  • @hylianarmy0 The NES 2A03 standard module has two square waves, one triangle wave, a noise channel and a DPCM channel for samples. The Gameboy has 2 squares, a freeform wave that can be whatever you want it to be, and a noise channel. I found the freeform wave sounded similar to a VRC6 channel so I decided to use that.

  • how long did this take to make?

  • @SuperBeefCake1 About two hours.

  • this game was pretty fun

  • I love you.

  • @CanadiensUnplugged My sentiments exactly.

  • Here's hoping you do the grandmaster duel. That's my fav track from that game.

  • @thepsynergist psn8bit has already done it pretty well iirc

Wow I feel like a spammer

  • @kitchenmaniac111 it's okay ily too.

  • i love this game!! great job =]

  • DO ROUTE 16

  • Goddamn man, you work quickly! Fantastic work as usual, this theme is probably my favourite from the game. That dll was such a great find.

  • What program is it? I use Meridian GBS plugin for Winamp myself, but I want to make sure there's nothing superior to that or anything :P

Wonderful work, Pokemon TCG and TCG2 have some of the best music in the Pokemon series (if you haven't checked out TCG2's OST, download a GBS because only like 4 songs are on youtube), and this is one of the best from TCG. Again, great work!

  • @kitchenmaniac111 I actually found a DLL from commandycan for Foobar2000 that works much, much better than Meridian. I always found that Meridian gave inaccurate volumes, and I can't stand Winamp, so this works much much better. It's perfect in my eyes.

  • @8BitDanooct1 :O

    I'll check it out.

  • This is the shit. I LOVE IT

  • Pokemon TCG have one of the most finest tunes I've ever had. Great job there!

  • Wow i dont remember the TCG music being this cool o.o! kudos!
